Upcoming Australian Dollar (AUD) Price Changes for World of Warcraft Subscriptions, Game Time, and WoW Tokens

Welcome to playing a game owned by a publicly traded company. Unless each year they make significantly more money than the last they will be seen as a bad investment. So some exec realized us Aussies where getting a good deal and they could get more money out of us. I for one am happy to pay this as I still enjoy the game a bunch and am looking forward to playing SL even after i got to play on the beta.

This is just a symptom of capitalism if you are unhappy with this I can suggest some reading for you

I love the way they increase our sub prices but we’re a minority that is largely ignored and lumped in with the NA. Maybe give us back our own servers and Day/Night cycles while you’re at it Blizz.

Now do South America.

well it looks like alot of people will be buying game cards from NZ now if they increase the prices in store too… cause it will still be cheaper then monthly subbing now

Are you &^%$ing serious right now blizz? People are already a bit at odds with the direction you are going with shadowlands and then you pull this right before the xpax is set to come out. I’m going to be paying for 1 month just to see if it is even worth it and if not well then i guess my time in WoW will be well and truely done then since it is going to be a hard sell you charge 20 a month just to keep playing.

CEOs and other Executives don’t get their bonuses out of thin air, right? … Or do they?

Yes, you can!

So Shadowlands is gonna have more dailies and less actual content and i’m expected to pay more? Gee thanks blizzard for the priv to pay you lazy tossers more to do nothin.

There’s very little point complaining here. The thing to do, if you aren’t completely invested in playing on, is to refund shadowlands and cancel your subscription. Money talks, nothing else does.

I cancelled my subscription and have now requested a refund on shadowlands, which I expect to be honored given the month delay (acceptable) and the 20% increase in subscription cost AFTER purchase and BEFORE deployment.

I’ve played plenty of times where NA players get put into aus servers with us especially in raid pugs.

Oceanic servers being unstable? in what sense they are down 0.1% more than NA servers or something? Times being localised for what again all the times seem to be localised for me in my calander reset happens at 2am on wednesday not at the US local time. I play exclusively in warmode on all my toons and on both factions its just as bad you run into groups pvping everywhere.

Again if you are a group of 17 OCE players and you get 3 NA players in the realm doesnt swap to NA i have never experienced this running pugs.

These issues are so inconsequential but if they truly are ruining your experience I doubt you will be happy with any mmo run by an overseas company where AUS base will be a tiny %. Dont get me wrong i would LOVE for them to make these changes but I just dont realistically see it happening they are a business that is run ONLY to make money they do not exist to entertain us and make a living they exist to make money for investors and the CBA of changing the day/night cycles likely makes nothing.

Sure im a shill I enjoy the game, but mostly im shilling that people shouldnt expect private companies to cater to their needs unless it makes them money, be it video games or insulin they are going to milk you dry at least with video games I get to have fun while they do it.

Average market price for MMO subs is around $14-16 AUD, and they don’t even charge for expansions/content.

How does the ever changing market reflect against this hike in price, when you’re already extorting the majority of your player-base with minimal content (which is barely fit for release, take the upcoming expansion for example)?

The Australian player experience is already average as is, don’t make it even worse by forcing players to leave.

The Australian servers lagged to high hell for the vast majority of peak time in the first half of BfA. I didn’t play the last half so I don’t know about that. The game reported “normal” ping, but the world server was incredibly lagged.

I have, if one of those 3 NA players happens to have lead in a bg, lfr, any instanced or world group content where its a NA lead - you goto their server.

Second this.

OHHH see you implied that having a single NA player in the group automatically made it NA server since they treat them better. Yes the server will go to whoever is lead and since there are more NA players you are likely to get an NA lead and NA server.

So I have bounced back and fourth on this myself. I definitely agree I am not gaining as much value as I USED to get from the service and current policy clearly has quality set at a certain cost-benefit ratio (which previously geared quality much higher in pre BFA).

We either pay up or find a competing way to spend our money though, the current team has shown they will not respond to anything else (evidenced by how the whole ripcord conversation played out).
