Sadly, it’s not just the OCE servers. I’m an Oceanic player who (by choice, and by working strange hours) plays on US servers - they’re really not any better when it comes to ‘large’ amounts of players in one area. Particularly for World PvP.
It’s kind of sad, on that note, to be paying a monthly fee for. Yes, it’s not really that much money, when it comes down to it, but we’re at the point where you can quite easily host a hundred people from a server your basement, if you want to. Ten, twenty players all doing things in one area really should not be an issue.
And it really shouldn’t be an issue if we’re paying for said servers.
Trust me, I think it’s a freaking rort, but I’ve known people to pay more for their daily coffee.
That said, while I don’t think it’s that much in general, I still think it’s an obscene amount of money to be spending on a single videogame. To merely even access said videogame.
It’s been too much for quite a while, though. This price hike just draws that further into attention.
we are not buying an Australian product. Even if they had an entirely separate corp for Aus side of things they need to move all that money up the chain to US.
Is there an addon doing that? I’d dearly love that. All my stuff on the calendar is still like “hey this starts at 10 AM” and I know I’m not the only one, because every time a World Event is due to start, trade is full of people going “HAS EVENT STARTED YET???”
Im also confused by this day night cycle thing. where is this occurring im sitting in dazar’alor right now 1:06PM EST and its daytime nice blue sky out never noticed it being night during daytime or opposite but admittedly might not notice if it where the case.
If Blizz can actually fix all the User action lag on the servers here in AU which ruins the in game experience, then maybe I would be happy to cop such a steep price increase. Telstra are expensive to use both as a consumer and business, but the price rise is potentially unjustified if there is no improvement to infrastructure to support the game and the players of it.
The audacity to increase a price of a region that is still plagued with issues that haven’t been fixed for years is ridiculous. This cannot go forward.
Servers being hosted in AUS means nothing… just because some of the game you play is occurring physically in Australia. The company you are buying it off is based overseas.
This is absolutely ridiculous. How can you justify a price increase based of currency when the AUD hasn’t changed in over a year! Furthermore, there are literally hundreds of people who have voiced this but, for what!?
There’s no increase in performance, there’s no increase in anything that justifies this expense especially given the disparity between what we get here and people in the EU and the US get.
Absolutely incredible how you can justify this with a straight face.
Welp you sucker-punched us into buying Shadowlands and then throw a price increase on Subs. Truly should of guessed something like this would happen, as there is no integrity to your player base at all. Well there is better MMO’s to spend money on then this, so once my 6 month sub is up, I shall finally say “good riddance” to Bobby’s Cash cow once and for all. Over Activision antics!
Look at the sky at say 3pm and update. Look at it again at say 6pm and update. Sit up half the night and play and post what time the sun comes up in game.
Then imagine you only every get to play wow after finishing work for 4 hours a night. Perpetual nighttime in game.
