Genuine question. Why does the sub model still exist?
We already pay full price for expansions, which they want to release close to yearly now.
$24 AUD/month and we only get one major patch every 4-6 months, closer to 6. So that’s essentially $144 per major patch.
They have a cash shop with mounts/pets/mogs that, given the price we pay to play this game should not exist and all should be earnable in-game.
Service prices are insane. $40 for a race change? Other MMOs do the same thing for 1/2 or 1/3rd the price. It’s all automated.
We don’t even have good customer support anymore and haven’t for a long time. You put a ticket in, wait days to get an automated response with nothing helpful in it. Escalate it 1-2 more times with more automated responses and if you ever actually get the chance to talk to someone they just say they can’t do anything.
So what are we actually paying for?

Seriously though, somehow these more frequent “updates” have less content in them than the original content cadence, and a significant drop in the quality of what’s produced.
Go back to how it was. Let the team cook up some great content and release it all at once instead of drip feeding us with slop like the anniversary event or Siren Isle.

I am subbed until Feb 2026, but won’t be renewing after that. After 20 years it is a good time to step away. I just cant justify the price anymore and there are a lot of other games that offer better value for money. Paying a high box price every expansion then nearly 300$ a year on top of that just isn’t worth all the bugs and lack of meaningful content.
The only reason they can pull this shiz is because we literally have idiots among us who would happily pay $140 for a dinosaur 
.
They know this and therefore feel comfortable to screw us over. I’m sure there would still be plenty of shills if the subs were $90 pm.

Unsubbed to this virtue signaling piece of rubbish. Haven’t tried PoE2 yet, I think I’ll be going over there where developers aren’t filled with greed. Not just that, the whole woke DEI rubbish got old real fast. Looking forward to see Trump rip these companies a new a-hole.

I just came back from a break as I didn’t feel like I was getting the value for what I paid for The War Within, now I hear the prices are going up again… I’m out again.
It took so long to get Oceanic servers only to see them dwindle and get removed to the point that many Australian players are going back into laggy US servers so they have somewhere to play with a population. Australian plays are often removed from dungeon and raid groups because the latency slightly increases for US players when we join. Our subscription and game costs increase almost double that of other countries, while the US never gets an increases.
Australian players are considered a burden by players and Blizzard alike, so constantly punishing us via tactics like this have become all too commonplace and will continue to drive Australian (and other regions like New Zealand) players away till this game is what America wants the world to be: America only.
I for one, say let them have it. This game is trash these days anyway.

Seem like all they do is give us rehashed content like that Plunderstorm trash and other pointless stuff like the Siren isles … all to grind cosmetics that we will never use. I mean how many transmogs or mounts will anyone ever use. I have got hundreds and some have never seen the light of day. Its all so pointless and such a waste of my hard earned money.
Blizz have no respect for our time. They just want to keep us hooked so they can drain our wallets. Off I go then.

I agree. I already struggle to mentally justify my sub fee when I exclusively use it to casually play Classic.
$25 p/m isn’t prohibitively expensive but it’s a tipping point. I could buy a lot of new games for $300 a year, instead of replaying one from two decades ago.

Classic should be a reduced fee if that’s the only reason you are accessing the game. Like maybe $8-$10 a month.
You could buy 3 games a year with that money and get more value out of those 3 games than you would subscribing to WoW for a year
We barely have classic and retail servers, and what we do have is getting reduced by the year. Why would Blizz give OCE players anything for the money they invest into this game?

Sucks but bear in mind the US dollar is extremely strong and the AUS dollar very weak though, if that changed, I wouldn’t expect them to decrease the price. 
It’s also possible that they’re planning on increasing prices across the board. If that were the case, they’d probably test this in smaller regions to understand how many players would cancel.
Don’t hold your breath. It’s made by NetEase which has a horrendous reputation for exploitation. They worked with Blizzard on Diablo Immortal. They’re also not stupid and PC players are more vocal so their priority now is growing their player base before slowly introducing the more egregious monetisation.
Very true. They never decrease the price when things are reversed.
We’re always the test bed for these increases, which is why the OCE server region keeps getting smaller because we won’t buy into their BS.
