Unsubbed and not regretting it

Heartily disagree, WoW’s lore is far too fragmented between what is canon and not canon or ret-conned and the books are not a “solution” to getting relevant events into the players hands when the game is available for that.

ESO brings you the story front and center through the game and really does set the bar as far as I am concerned for questing. It’s really difficult to go back to a non-VA’d title and pay attention to what is being presented because voice acting can convey the true intent of what is occurring around you where some text on a papyrus background in a tiny font with a war breaking out around you doesn’t.

WoW’s problem is “consistency” and it doesn’t just extend to the story; core gameplay elements change and it’s starting to get annoying.

Wasn’t beta tested with completed campaigns and character build-outs? No one the launch version has reached the level they were in beta, yet.

We saw the whole soulbind/conduit issue. I didn’t see the loot issue (not sure if that was just tacked on). Doing Torghast we knew it was going to be a slogfest - with some fun - but overly long. And a new level 60 having to run layers 1-8 is just painful. We knew the Maw was painful. The lack of a flight whistle was painful.

There were plenty of quality of life issues that we saw from the beginning, warned about, and rarely saw dev feedback.

I LOVE the fact that we can catch up our covenant campaign so quickly. I have four characters, mainly just so I can see each covenant campaign storyline. I think the buildings inside covenants are interesting and kinda fun.

Its probably a structural/design issue.

You nailed it !

I had the same hunch back at the first two months of BFA when my alt would get caught up with my main with 5ilevel difference in 1/4th the time.

Same happened here. Soon you can gear up an alt with the covenant gear to 200 which is raid level and then that’s when the drip feeding happens. Thought a new covenant storyline would be refreshing but still feels like the whole puzzle is still missing pieces.

It’s like they are making up the story up as they go every two weeks at this point.

Sounds like fun, I have a tough time getting 1000

That’s what I mean, I haven’t even gotten to my second power conduit yet and I still have some green and blue conduits farther up.

Dragging out the story so slowly makes people ignore the story. Well, I’ve been ignoring WoW story for years, but other people might actually still care at some point.

I subbed for the story. Once I realized I’d have to get Raider IO to progress with gear and then I had to wait on the story because of timegating I decided the game was not worth playing. Now I’m waiting to hear from Blizz if they’ll refund me for 3 months I have no intention of using. I’ll just watch a video of the cut scenes to get caught up. This game isn’t fun enough to justify these mechanics. It feels like an empty shell compared to a ton of single player games.

Me too. WoW is finally dead imo. I moved back over to FF14 and I couldn’t be happier. Night and day difference. Everything about that game is so much better. Graphics, combat, everything.

They can either roll out the entire covenant story line week 1, everyone finishes it in 2-3 days, and then come to the forums and cry “that’s it??? Nothing to do. Unsubbing.”

Or, they can drag it out like they’re doing now, and people will come to the forums and cry “omg timegate bad. game sux. bye”.

If the entire story was available from the start, and as you said, you subbed for the story, you’d be unsubbing anyway once you finished the story.

Story is literwlly finished and not timegated anymore. A shame you will have a hard time grouping because you are not maced renown.

Vault is obectively better than the weekly cache thats actually a large upgrade.

Have yet to suffer from the lack of this tbh. Prolly because i dont do WQs aside 1/2 days in the week. Which by itself is another improvement. Btw OP you should actually subscribe and play SL, literally 0 sl achievments isnt helping your point

Vault is objectively better than the weekly cache. I agree 100%.

Vault is not objectively better than the weekly cache plus decent loot chances in M+ and Raids.

Don’t forget the adventure table… pretty annoying as well. As soon as I get everyone leveled up, boom… here’s 2-3 more level 1’s to bring your overall down… and the only XP quests are 29+elite.

I think raids should drop its loot just fine. But blizz seems to either slow down loot or pace all 3 forms os progression at the same rate. M+? I would prefer a currency on the system. Because if you like them ya it sucks not getting loot if you never liked them that much its a relief spamming them not being mandatory anymore.

…as soon as you buy your way to the next set of quests.

I don’t do Mythics or M+ but I do world bosses and LFR.

I’ve never gotten single drop yet.

I really enjoy M+ and raiding, but I’m almost there - pretty much no aspect of this game is fun right now.

Torghast is probably the 2nd worse thing I’ve ever seen. 1 layer is 6 to 8 floors of pure BORING, no challenge garbage. I just… My god.

Don’t even get me started on The Maw - whoever made this zone needs to be relieved of their position.

Gear is more scarce than in vanilla.

They’ve really ruined it this time in favor of HUGE time played metrics. This sucks and I am so disappointed.
