I gave up a while ago trying to make the wow story follow what I want. I Just go with it. It’s fine for a video game.
Exactly! These people are making themselves miserable and forgetting to have fun!
but yep with internet, it does not matter, if you want me to listen to you, it would be when Blizzard manipulates the likes or hides as was the case with the Nickelodeon Drag queen in her song about pride in the previous month.
The only one who had a good participation was always the Jailer, because no matter how much redemption of Sylvanas she showed that she is a weak and stupid soul and would be deceived at some point.
And everything she did in Azeroth, unlike the only phrase she said i will never serve, was a ridiculous annoyance of a character that shows how Blizzard bringing political ideologies shows how they ridicule characters who would have liked better performance and not lack of creativity by the game developers.
Because, I once enjoyed WoW’s story and I consider it apart of the experience. I can’t enjoy WoW if the story, I once adored, is now even more incomprehensible and outlandish.
The only thing that scares me is how much this is lifting the stakes. I am a silly man who was happy with small (Now small) stuff like an Elemental Lord causing havoc and the Druids purifying a place, internal conflict, etc.
Now we’re entering Marvel comic things which I don’t like. Mega cosmic, Beyonder level things are not so interesting for me in a game.
But the cinematic and the story is not bad at all. I am curious as to what is going to happen next.
I miss killing murlocs.
My issue with it is the cinematic in a void was actually quite good. But the story contained within it is honestly dreadful. Her motivations are all wrong and she didn’t have a satisfying lead up to explain any of her actions in it.
As always, the animation team knocked it out of the park while the narrative team floundered it.
Cliffhangers at climax are stupid in shows and games. Indicator of bad writing.
I mean, it’s a fantasy world. When does it start becoming too outlandish for you? Lol…
It’s only the end of raid cinematic. It’s not the end of the whole expansion…
Or the end of the game. We know a continuation is coming. There’s no need to reinforce that with what should be a closing story piece to CHAINS OF DOMINATION.
I mean, the jailer got his full powers back, he apparently gave Sylvannas her mortality back (a fate worse than death), he ditched Sylvannas and Jeff her to us, and the jailer went on to confront the creator. Is say those are some pretty major plot points.
yawn we can agree to disagree
Also, the cinematic is only a piece of the larger story. We still have the entire 9.1 story campaign left.
I think it would’ve been a lot faster if the story wasn’t such a slow drip. I’m not the biggest fan of the cinematic but it being all we get until nearly the end of the year makes it a lot worse.
I think this is the biggest problem with the story, the slow pace. Especially in an age where we get instant gratification and can binge watch an entire series in a day or two.
It’s also just a weakness with MMOs in general. An RTS or RPG from 2000 (like WCIII) is better in many ways in terms of delivering a narrative.
I thought it was pretty weak to me as the boot dropping moment.
No great revelations, plans or schemes for power over death to break the cycle of undeath for the Forsaken.
Just a ripoff Batman vs Super Martha moment.
Pathetic.
Taken at face value, I guess it could seem like that.
I’m with you, Sylvanas has always been one of my favorite characters. I’m really glad that, at least for now, they didn’t kill her off.
IF they are going for a full on redemption arc she has a LONG way to go and she will most likely never be forgiven for the things she has done, but we’ll see what happens.
I just hope they don’t drop the ball here like they did in BFA.
Personally, aside from the endless grinding and the xpac really not being alt friendly, I’ve been loving it so far and I’m really excited to see the rest of the story and whats going to happen with anduin
