I can see why they would be angry as it would be like the nightborne all over again, but this time arguably worse as so far the horde and zandalari helped the devoted magnitudes more than the alliance.
They would need a lot of story development to make them go alliance compared to horde currently. I donāt really care either way though as I just want them playable.
I thought horde failed the devoted in the Raid and the alliance came to the rescue? There was a fairly good article on wowhead that explained why their allegiance would much more so be to the alliance than the horde.
The only thing the horde āfailedā at is preventing the resurrection of Mythrax, which is before the raid of Uldir. However, itās also the horde that kills Mythrax and finishes Uldir as itās the culmination of the story from all 3 horde zones.
The only time the alliance help the devoted sethrak takes place before the horde meet with Vorrik actually.

Also if you mean this article then itās based from information from the beta over a year ago and nothing has pushed them closer to the alliance as the article assumed. If anything it assumes that the devoted and vulpera can not live in peace which is from what weāve seen not true as theyāve already worked together in the horde questline. It also says that the horde and alliance interaction with the devoted are similar, while true in the very beginning the horde helps a lot more. Even resurrecting Sethraliss and ending emperor Korthek.
Iām still not quite sure what the point of introducing Alliance to the Devoted was. Wyrmbaneās line about surely needing to depend on them later never really pans out, and sethrak are completely absent from the Alliance war campaign despite the first chapter of it taking place in Volādun.
Alliance basically get a bunch of exposition dumped on them and then never have any meaningful interaction with Vorrik or the Devoted again after securing the Volādun foothold.
I think they needed something to pad out the Allianceās story in Volādun, and to justify giving them more World Quests in the area.
It seems like Blizzard didnāt have any plan at all. If the Sethrak were planned for a future Horde race, then they shouldnāt have them interact with the Alliance at all; and if they were planning to have them join the Alliance, they should have little to no interaction with Horde players, or it shouldāve been made blatantly obvious that they wouldnāt have continued interaction with the Horde after the storyline was finished.
After what happened with the Nightborne, Blizzard shouldāve realized they canāt have another neutral race suddenly join one side over the other. Then again, it seems so obvious that they shouldāve realized it BEFORE they had the Nightborne join the Horde.
That sounds an awful lot like what happened with the Arakkoa in WoD, but a lot less extremeā¦
Blizzās writing team really needs to be more consistent with each otherā¦ -_-ā
Me too!
If it has been decided that the alliance should not receive anything of value in BfA, then at least sethraks are available to the Horde!
It would be a waste if sethraks are just npcs!
They could always do a softer version and make it like the druidsā ability to track humanoids/animals. They could even make it a minimap option.
Thats actually a neat alternate, overlaps with Hunters alot though (since they can be those) unless it adds a 1-2 bonus range to a Hunter but all non Hunter classes get usual range, iād say Humanoid, Beast, Stealthed and maybe Abberations? (given there history with void creatures and being lightning lovers).
I just remembered a perfect joke for sethraks!
Woods phrase from Toy Story: āāThereās a snake in my boot!āā
It could certainly be adapted to sethraks!
Oh dear god, nuuuā¦ XD
āThereāsss a ssnake in my boot! Oh waitā¦ Thatāsss jusst my foot. Falsse alarm!ā
Now thats a good way to reference it, granted i hate toy story but that joke is good.
Blizz really needs to give us a little something to work with at this point to keep our interest.
So far it is mostly the Horde potential ARs that are being thrown crumbs.
Agreed. Thereās not been much word from them directly sinceā¦ Three months ago, I believe?
Yea theres not much known about either side so far other than speculation about the big 4 which are Junkergnomes/Gilgoblins and Sethrak/Vulpera, though there are people clamouring for others like the Vampire Elves for example since they did just show in the Alliance Warcampaign for Horde for example.
sweats profusely
Yeah, Iām one of themā¦ Advocate of the Arakkoaā¦ ^-^ā
It will be tragic to see abandoned sethraks as mere npcs, when they have such a big appeal and there are many people who would even make race change to have a character of this race!
There were chances in WOD of seeing ogres and arakkoas being added to the factions, being discarded!
Now we have a chance to see a new race that will bring something more to the game!
Come on, Blizzard!
You know which races are being a source of desire for your audience!
Enjoy the moment, and score some points with us!
I agree, it would be tragic, but then againā¦
Thatās ActiBlizz in a nutshell.
High or Low Arakkoa? i was personally in favor of Low Arakkoa for the Alliance as theyāre the actual GOOD GUY shadow users from WoD anyway proving they used it for it, then we got blueberry elves which in comparison is like comparing Epic to Steam, non-existent lol.
Which sadly are also the WoD Arakkoa now, since only the Ogre genetic history races and Orcs (plus some Sabreon and Botani (god help us) managed to survive AU Draenor).
tbh? BOTH of them.
Plus, as you mentioned before, theyāre literally THE key to actually walking in AND out of the shadowlands on a whim.
Actually, I saw AN Arakkoa escape to the East of Durotar, but nothingās really there, soā¦ Not sure where THEY went.
