As far as sethrak go, I would look towards the progressing war campaign. Other than that, I dont see them having any limelight in the rest of the patch.
I think the best hope sethrak have is making a return for 8.3, similar in a sense to the way high and cursed arakkoa at the end of Warlords united to form the Order of the Awakened. If the Devoted get a reputation faction and help us out in our fight against Nāzoth or whoever else shows up, thatād be a pretty good sign.
Definitely. Its not without precedent, as the Nightborne and Highmountain also faded from the spotlight after their patch, only to show up later as a recruitable AR. Serhrak might need a new rep (or an existing rep could lead awkwardly to them like the Argus Krokul rel leading to Void Elves. XD), but its definitely possible in 8.3, depending on what it brings.
Yeah, I canāt imagine which existing reputation theyād require exalted with. Stormās Wake might be fitting because of the connection to, well, storms, but itās a stretch at best and they have no direct interaction with the Devoted that Iām aware of.
Hereās something that got me thinking last night when I was playing through the Volādun foothold quests on an alt:
Back in beta, Tess Greymane was the character who originally sent the Alliance adventurer into Volādun to establish the foothold at Shatterstone Harbor. Later, they swapped her out for Magister Umbric. Now, of all the characters that could appear in Volādun, why Umbric?
I didnāt think about this a whole lot until recently, but itād make sense if it ultimately has something to do with 8.3ās story. If the old gods make their big move then, Sethraliss and her Devoted would make fine allies against them. Umbric, with his knowledge of the void, might make a fine ally to the Devoted in turn.
Umbric himself also says this: "My assumptions, pleasantly, were unfounded. The sethrak who populate this region command powerful magic and wield it with unconventional techniques.
Iām eager to study their accouterments to further unlock their power, but my first priority is to aid you and the High Commander in whatever task you have need of me."
Thereās also a world quest with an Alliance mage studying sethrak spellwork, if Iām not mistaken.
Maybe Wyrmbaneās whole, āThis likely wonāt be the last time weāll have to depend upon themā wasnāt just some throwaway line to open up Volādun world quests to Alliance players.
Give snek blizz.
Still support playable sethrak as much as I did back before BfA was even launched.
At this point, I just want sethrak to be a playable race!
Even if it is in the horde, I would be happy to see this race available for players who like me, liked the aesthetics of the race!
If for the devs is something unviable for the alliance, then at least put sethraks as part of the horde!
And they can give another horse to the alliance, as usual!
Iāve said before that Iāll take to whichever side gets them, be it red or blue. The thing is, though, I still feel they fit the Alliance best, and would add the most to that faction. At the end of the day, though? I just donāt want them left to dry in the dunes.
As far as the general culture of their people go, they would fit better with the Alliance. But the horde already have history helping them much more than the Alliance as many people will point out.
Now, if Sethrak do become playable and use an existing reputation as a requirement instead of adding a new one, I could see it being 7th Legion for the Alliance and Volduni for the horde, as both already link up with the Sethrak people. Storms Wake doesnt really make much sense at all. But, depending on how the storyline progresses if at all, I could even see the Champions of Azeroth be the required rep if the race would be playable for both factions.
Though I definitely think they would create a new faction for us to require rep with if they become playable.
Always the same fear, doesnāt matter if its red or blue its just the fear of them being under utilised, this much effort put into them and Vulpera just not to use them? waste of time and money i just rather see them not be wasted no matter what.
Also Storms Wake like Order of Embers and Proudmoores all fit KulāTirans which we already have, only other options are Dire Quillboars who are all extremely hostile who live in Stormsong Valley or if some by illgotten miracle some of those Mindflayer wannabes decide to leave Nāzoths service since theyāre heavily involved in the zones story.
Only reps left in the game from BfA that can lead to a new race is Volāduni for Vulpera, Talanji Expedition for Blood Trolls (doubtful given we already got a big no), Storms Wake for the two i said above (again very doubtful), Ankoan for well Ankoan or Jinyu (how arenāt they involved here again?), the Unshackled for Gilgoblins and Rustbolt Resistance for Junkergnomes.
Technically 7th Legion could be used for Sethrak who might end up there own rep or Intelligent Gorillas since theyāre helped by us and the 7th.
A guy I used to debate about the sethraks said that their culture is a copy of Zandalarās and thatās why they could not be in ally, since they worship Loas like the Zandalar and other races of Horde and so sethraks do not match with the aesthetic of the alliance, for living in tents, ruins and caves!
They donāt copy the zandalari, and as I said before many times, Loa is not exclusively a troll thing. It is merely the troll word for a Wild God, which is typically Druidic in nature with the exceptions of Bwansomdi and Rezan so far, who represent death and light respectively, instead of life like the rest of the wild gods we have seen so far.
So the whole āthey worship a Loa thus they canāt be allianceā makes about as much sense as āthey are peaceful people thus they canāt be hordeā and the horde can give alliance Tauren if they want to use this argument against alliance Sethrak. It is irrational.
I agree with you!
Since the Alliance received shamen and Horde received paladins, it was possible to have draenei and dwarves who have links with spirits and even loas and horde to possess users of holy power!
But āthis guyā just said does not want a race that has to do with zandalar in bounds!
And often tells those who liked sethrak, that go to horde, if you want to play with inhuman and tribal beings!
I do not see sethraks as tribal!
Thereās always the possibility that they could add new Allied Races that actually arenāt locked behind a rep wall, and instead just require a questline completion. They could even timegate the quest if they need to sneak some time played metrics in there somewhere.
Imagine something on the scale of the Suramar Insurrection questline, and you unlock a playable race at the end of it! Iād much prefer that approach.
So, with Nāzoth on the loose, any bets on whether or not we get to see Sethraliss in action before BFA is over? Or did the Childrenās Week quests damn her to an eternity of āregaining her strengthā?
These cute little goobers absolutely need to happen.
I see Velen and Vorrik really hitting it off considering that they are both members of a triumvirate that had fallen apart.
The Eredar splitting in to two, the Manāari and the Draenei with two of the three leaders joining the Burning Legion. The same thing happened with the Sethrak, the group ended up being divided becoming the devoted and the faithless (with one of the triumvirate members dying) but instead of the burning legion theyāre trying to combat the void.
Nearly exactly the same, lets be real here.
I wouldnt mind unlocks that donāt require rep. A little questline would be great.
Yeah, thereās some overlap with night elves too, but the story of the Devoted is definitely most similar to draenei.
Couple that with the description of Vorrik on his statue, āLawful, just, faithful, firm,ā and they seem like a fine fit for the Alliance to me.
If the faction barrier ends up breaking down outside war mode next expansion, then the sethrak joining the Alliance isnāt all that weird.
Either way, Sethraliss and the Devoted would be useful allies against the old gods, so I hope to see them again, even if they donāt become playable.
Iām glad Iām not the only one that noticed the heavy overlap of the Sethrak with Alliance races; itās pretty darn relieving. xD
Honestly, the faction barrier coming down is long overdue.
With the slow, eventual eradication of the Alliance theyāll have to.
I feel that Sethraliss and the Devoted would be useful as well, they have a history with them, won a HUGE battle to save their people as well. Out of everyone on the planet I would say they have some of the most experience fighting specifically void related creatures. Given that Vorrik is probably over 10k years old that olāsnek has a lot to offer.
We will see the Sethrak again in the future, after all the Alliance campaign did say they would be needed in the future.
Yeah, and Vorrik being so old just puts him in good company alongside the likes of Tyrande and Velen.
For a while I convinced myself that Wyrmbaneās line about that was just an excuse for Alliance players to get world quests from Vorrik, but the more I thought about it, the less that made any sense. Vorrik was the one needing our help in those, and the Alliance seemingly asked nothing of the Devoted during the war campaign or Battle for Dazarāalor. So, āThis likely wonāt be the last time weāll have to depend upon them,ā still hasnāt come to pass.
While I was hoping the sethrak might assist the Alliance in the Volādun incursion, them coming back to help everyone against the old gods is even better in the end. After all, everyone helped them.
I have very little hope to see Sethrak playable, and even less for the allianceā¦ its a pity, I love them, they are so cool =(
I have found this on the internet, It remids me of Vorrik XD :
