It would really depend on what kind of forms they got. Thereād be a lot screaming heresy if Alliance got two races with distinctly unique druid forms and the horde only had one race that had vastly different forms. Letās not forget that they said the druid forms take the longest to create, so on top of all the work they had for Sethrak at the start of the expansion, granted theyād have an entire expansion to work on it, I donāt want to give my hopes up.
Iād love Sethrak druids as well, but I justā¦donāt see them coming. If we new more about what kind of power Sethraliss has/had, then it might give a better indication. If sheās more nature oriented, then hey! It might be plausible then! ^^
Was there a thread this long with a twitter and discord for Arkoa during WoD and Tuskarr during Wrath? (Yes I realize Discord was not around during Wrath)
Arakkoa have been requested since their introduction in the burning crusade, the Tuskarr as well but not to the same extent. Bear in mind though that the heavy campaigning of playable races started with bfa and allied races. As we very rarely got new races back in the day.
Arakkoas, tuskarr, taunkas, ogres and some others are always present in the thoughts of the people!
There is not much to be said about them, as there is no relevance to them in BfA, because of the great hype that vulperas and sethraks have generated!
But for the future, we can expect the allied races system to bring them into the game, something they did not have before, in the period of their appearances!
the biggest requests that we havenāt gotten and were made before the introduction of ARs were Ogres/Mokānathal, Naga, High Elves, and Murlocs (probably more of a meme than a serious request).
As expacs were added, new races got some requests as well, like Arrakoa and Vrykul being more common requests.
Outside of high elves (who received a huge swell of support recently with all the silver covenant involvement being prominent at the time of ARās introduction), and Ogres (who were horde units in the early WC games) none of the other groups have had near as much hype as newer races like Vulpera and Sethrak.
Personally, Iām of the opinion that more varied races are better for the game (variety is the spice of life, after all), and that alternate versions of the same races should take a backseat to newer, more exciting ones. But considering how many people want more elves, iām not sure if iām in the majority.
It doesnāt have to be either or. We could have both. I want Vulpera and Sethrak as much as I want High Elves.
Iāve even reserved a name for my Sethrak if they ever get added. Sibilance, itās a light hissing sound that some headphones or speakers might have.
i have no problem with High elves getting added, i just think they shouldnāt be next. when i said ātake a back seat,ā i meant they should come after newer, more varied races.
When Blizz announced ARs as āAllied Racesā and not āSub-Races,ā they said this was because they didnāt want to limit themselves to just different kinds of dwarves/elves/humans/trolls/orcs/etc., and yet we havenāt seen a truly different race with the ARs yet.
I have no problems with people getting races they want to play. Iām not gonna try to crush peopleās hopes for ARs, because i know how awesome it is to get to get to play -exactly- the character youāre hoping for, and having to make compromises steals away from your connection to your character.
But by the same token, people like me, that have been waiting for a reptilian race since TBC announcement (where speculation pointed towards a possible Alliance Naga race), have yet to see anything near that wheelhouse and have to make a lot more compromises with their characters, than an elf enthusiast has.
There are currently 4 elf races. There are currently 0 lizard races. Iād prefer we get lizard race #1 before (edit: or at the very least, at the same time that) we get Elf race #5. Not saying Elf race #5 shouldnāt happen.
I agree with this. This is the same as my stance on the Gilblin, Junker Gnome, and SanāLayn. At least add a new and unique allied race before you add a variant of existing ones. Like Sethrak, Arakkoa, Saurok, Vulpera and so on.
So if the Sethrak did join the Alliance as an allied race, then I would think the main Alliance NPC thats involved with dealing with the Sethrak could be the recruiter that gives the quest. It doesnāt have to be a high profile leader, in my opinion. Iām sure the questline could be an interesting, military related one also.
If it helps, the chances of Sethrak and Vulpera are higher than Sanālayn anyway. If Sanālayn have any chance, itās for after things like this (From what I see).
That being said, I still have high hopes for Sethrak, especially since the devs have said theyāre looking at Feedback. Also Sethrak have more of a chance than Saurok, probably. I really would love playable Saurok too though, I think theyāre so cool and the closest weād ever get to āplayable dragonsā. >.>
Saurok are in my top 10 most wanted races, along with Sethrak, so I would be all for it. Iād get two different lizardmen races, one of which being snake related, and Iād get one of them on the Horde. ^^
We see many sauroks in freehold!
And this shows that they are less savage and more looters, to the point of acting with other races when they are need to!
I also remember that the pandarens in Pandaria said they continue to try to deal with the Sauroks in order to end the clashes with them!
That is, it is not impossible that they can appear in the horde, led by Ji Firepaw!
Once the freehold sauroks show themselves more ā¦ āsocialā, it would not be impractical, I guess!
They are not wild and aggressive with everyone all the time, if that is not whatās most interesting to them!
The same reasoning can be used with the quillboars, who are also there!
So I realize Sethrak donāt have much of a navy, but with 8.2 hitting the PTR next week, Iām going to suggest what Iāve said in a few allied race megathreads and keep an eye out for clues of any sort for any allied races. You never know what weāll be finding. ^^
Also, at the very least, when 8.2 does hit live, be sure to at least get the war campaigns done on both Horde and Alliance. Likely whatever allied races are coming in the future will require them to be up-to-date on completion.
