well, Iām fairly certain weāve already seen what makes Sethrak as rogue, we have seen NPCs that resemble what would be a paladin. Along with Shaman and hunter. Weāve seen a WQ (at least I think itās a wq?) where there is a sethrak barrier: what class deals bests in making arcane shields that would interest the Kirin Tor? Mages ofc! And we have seen Priests within Dazaralor. As well as hunters in the wilds of VolāDun~
With that we have: paladin, rogue, hunter, shaman, priest, mage, warrior (cuz everyone can be a warrior :P)
The only one we havenāt seen that I simply feel would be amazing and so much fun to see, is the Monk. Only because their tail would be able to provide so much balance and stability, not to mention seeing it move with the monk moves would be <3
Paladins sethraks, would compensate for the fact that kultirans are not eligible for this class!
The Alliance would welcome a new race choice, for paladins!
And monks would also be a good class choice for our snakes!
Even a martial art style, itās based on snakes, if I remember correctly!
If one day they include mantid, hozen, saberon and arakkoa, like allied race, then we would have a mantis, a monkey, a tigress and a crane!
Adding to the pandaren, it would be the five furious! Literally!
AHAHAH!
Only problem I see with Rogues is a lot like the problems with Tauren and Draenei. The fact they arenāt rogues is not because they have hooves, thatās just a joke, itās a cultural thing. They donāt feel itās an honorable way of fighting and the ones we see with a rogue look are faithless. If we did get sneks I would assume lore wise it would be Vorrikās Sethrak whom follow setharallis and live a more spiritual life.
Not saying there couldnāt be rogues, Iād be totally fine with that. Only that if they didnāt get rogues Iād understand why. And I see them getting Priest and Paladin more easier.
but also lore-wise, the devoted would surely be trying to revert some of the faithless back into devoted. Thus the rogue-like sethrak would be brought into the ranks of the devoted. Thatās how I view it and it would make sense, why put a skill to waste if itās already acquired?
Getting the Faithless back in their society could likely cause problems with the Vulpera, in which the Vulpera would be even more inclined to join the Horde as a result for safety. Would be an interesting approach to see that occur.
Iād be curious what class I would make for a Sethrak character. I originally imagined a warlock of some sort, a way to help recreate an Iksar Necromancer character I had in Everquest 1, but if that wouldnāt be an option, Iāll have to think on it more with what Iād want my snake to be. Regardless, I still hope they will be playable in some fashion at some point!
see, now the Warlock, maybe Iām hypocritical, I donāt really see fitting the sethrak as much sadly (which I love locks, donāt get me wrong!) I just canāt see them dabbling into the fel arts like that, not when theyāre more āintuned to the nature around themā type of peoples.
Wellā¦not just that, but I just canāt really see them being warlocks for some reasonā¦it just doesnātā¦click with me? I actually made a list of the classes I think we are most likely to see with the Sethrak.
On the flip side, I do agree that the Sethrak uniting would definitely push the vulpera into the arms of the horde much quicker/more effectively and also push the sethrak away from being āalliesā with the Vulpera since there would be no longer any way to distinguish the āgoodā from those that had enslaved them for generations.
Interestingly enough, one of the two Vulpera I want to make is a male Vulpera Warlock (unsure of spec), the other being a female Vulpera Enhancement Shaman. The Warlock isnāt evil, but it is more of a means for survival.
I can see how warlocks may not really fit with Sethrak. Some arguments I recall mention that faithless could, but I can see how their society as a whole doesnāt dabble in fel magic.
Still, Iāll figure out what to make my snake dood if they become playable!
If this ārefusal to use Felā was something related to the Loasā disgust for this energy, it would explain why zandalares are not users of that force, since they are much more attuned to the loas than their darkspears cousins!
If I had to guess Sethrak classes right now I would say
Mage, Shaman, Rogue, warrior, priest and hunter
If I were to give a likelihood for the other classes I would say
Monk: 80% (I will never understand how Magāhar, undead, void elves, and zandalari can be monks, but not worgen)
Warlock: 60%
Paladin: 10%
Death Knight and Demon Hunter: 0%
Every allied race seems to have a āWhaaaaat?ā class like the Magāhar priests and the KulāTiran druids so for that I would say itās probably warlocks
Technically the Magāhar Priest wasnāt there āwhat theā is was the Magāhar Monk more specifcally the second boss of Drazāzalor alliance side, freshly new to Azeroth? your now a grandmaster monk of the Pandaren of Pandaria who is now taught to use more then all others on the planet, if she summoned a Draenor cat and Rylak instead of Pandaria forms later in the fight wouldāve been less āwhat theā moment.
Magāhar Priests were mostly taught by the Draenei before the AU Naaru caused the Lightbound problem, not to mention some Shadowmoon Shamans were closer to Priests anyway, Now if they had Paladins due to the Draenei that be a big āwhat theā moment like there monks are.
I can kinda see why the Magāhar have monks? The horde has monk and they probably could have learned something from the pandas from the horde? Its a stretch but I can see it happening (somehow)
As much as I would love a reason to play a Sethrak Warlock, I seriously cannot see it. There is no hint to them ever dealing with the burning legion or have any sort of summons.
Paladins however I can see having a higher chance than warlocks for 2 reasons,
they have a huge devotion to their loa(diety, goddess, whatever they wants to call her) like the Zandalari/Humans/BE/Tauren do and they all get their powers from different sources
Iāve seen the Terrace Guardians cast a sort of holy spell on themselves, like the ones you see holy paladins use. I think its called heal but shares a holy paladin spell effect.
But hey, I could be wrong and we could get Warlocks over Paladins or we could bet BOTH. which would make me happier than a kid on christmas day.
I really hope they get Warlock. The idea of an evil sorcerer snake man appeals greatly to me.
Honestly, they donāt have much in the way of class lore beyond the stuff everybody gets and maybe Shaman. If they ever do become playable theyād need to just make some stuff up. (And thatās not at all a bad thing!)
Also hoping for Druid though thatās probably a long shot since it would upset the faction balance.
There is some hope we can actually get sethrak druids! We can offset that balance by giving the opposite faction another druid/paladin(A:5, H:3)/shaman(A:4 H:5) since their numbers are all kinds of wack on both sides. Warlocks would be great, but like I said, they would really have to pull a good excuse out of their butts to make them work.
