Also, grats to the thread reaching 5,000 posts! That is a lot of support and discussion! Especially since this specific thread is the 7th total thread! Still terribly unfortunate we cannot access the old forums. I wanted to at least take a count of what the other playable Sethrak threads capped out at. I know it was in the thousands, just not sure what the post cap was.
Keep up the love and support for our playable Sethrak!
Out of curiosity, is there even any other thread like this out there thatās reached this much support and activity over the years? Are there any other community requests that have done as well as this has?
Vulpera. For sure. Sethrak and Vulpera both got about the same attention and had/have similar popularity. But since Vulpera are now a thing, itās Sethrak thatās in the lead. I think Ogres had some strong activity at one point as well.
And sort ofā¦ High Elves? They got a compromise at least.
I personally donāt care that much about High Elves. xD As far as making them an AR. I think the customizations added to Belfs and Velfs is plenty satisfactory! And was a good way to handle the requests.
Iāll definitely be content when Sethrak are made playable. I need them and itās all I really have a true request for.
Yeah. Iām not a high-end raid-tier gamer, but I do like having goal-oriented things, like gearing up. Rep grinding isnāt my favorite thing, but it gives me something to work towards, same with hunting transmogs and such.
Thereās a lot Iād be happy to do in-game if it meant getting Sethrak playable. Rep grind, weekly and daily quests, gold and war resource grinding, all that stuff.
Iām SURE that Blizzard will add more allied races. Itās pretty much all but confirmed, since itās time-gated content that gets people to come back to the game to get the rep and other things they need. It stretches out subs and such. Itās just a matter of WHAT those allied races end up being.
Also, the story for the Sethrak just felt really unresolved. Like, if you go to the Temple of the Devoted, itās still constantly under siege from the Faithless, regardless of what part of the story youāre or how many times youāve saved the Avatar of Sethraliss. Having an allied race questline I think would REALLY help tie them into the lore and get them to where they need to be, as well as giving their story some closure.
Hah, thatād be nice if true. Weāre certainly on track to hit that, and Iām sure if we reach out to the community a bit then we can get there pretty quick!
I would be thrilled if this was true! Donāt think it would be hard to accomplish.
Sethrak!
Course I would argue that we technically have already hit 8,000 comments. The old threads linked in the original post (that we canāt access anymore) definitely put this up over 8,000 posts.
With 7 threads, including this one and letās say the past 6 threads only had 1,000 posts each (I know it was way more than that), that would put us at 11,000 total posts. So -tinfoil hat time- if 8k posts = playable Sethrak, then weāve blazed past the finish line.
Truly hope for Sethrak to get in as an Allied Raceā¦ would be fun to play as a Sethrak Hunter with one of those beetles! Otherwise, their entire location and story is very fun to me plus their design is really fun
Iām 99% sure their racial ability would be a lightning shield that reflects 1 attack (for no more than a certain amount of damage so its not breaking the 1-2% race difference) and a passive that increase Hasssssste for 1%
I could see Sethrak getting a bonus to Skinning or Leatherworking, or maybe Jewelcrafting or Enchanting, considering how much shamanistic stuff they do. Lightning scales seems cool. Poison spit could be nice too, and could be a DoT similar to the lightforgedās Lightās Judgement. Alternatively, they could get a simple resistance to Nature damage.
I only support Sethrak on the Horde, and thereās nothing you could try and come up with that could change my mind.
First of all, the resolution to the Volādun storyline had the Horde liberating Sethrallis. Second, you have Sethrak at the coronation of Talanji. Third, the Faithful and Vulpera are on good terms, and the Vulpera being who they are, theyād likely accept the Faithful and realize how evil Faithless are.
Again, I donāt disapprove of the Sethrak being a playable race, just not on the Alliance. No way.
For the most part if they were to go Alliance Iād imagine itād be the Faithless fleeing the Horde and Zandalari rather than the Devoted.
Unlikely. They had the ARās picked from BFAās launch. Vulpera and Mechagnomes were always going to go together.
There was obviously work done on Sethrak though, so they may have been meant to be with the last two ARās that we never got when they decided to cut 8.3 content some.
Not gonna lie. I would absolutely play a Sethrak. Playing a snake is just below playing a dragon on my list of wild things Iād probably enjoy for a change of pace.
