Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

I agree wholeheartedly! It’s important that we keep the fire burning so blizzard is aware players want Sethrak, Saurok, Kelfin, ogres, or any other AR people are hoping for.

Hopefully we will see our lizards and snakes proudly standing there!

I’m certainly sure that Blizzard’s entire team is focused on Shadowlands right now. The media department is hard at work on advertisements, the programming department is working late to patch as many bugs as possible and the story department is probably already writing up what’s coming in the next patch while the art department works to make it real. (idk if those are all real departments, but I imagine it’s something like that).

And all of that is great. I do want Shadowlands to be a great expansion to get people excited to play WoW again and breathe some new life into the game, from the new player experience to the new leveling experience and then to the new content. I’m excited about a lot of it.

I’d be even MORE excited if I could roll a new Sethrak to play through all of that fantastic content :stuck_out_tongue:

So here’s hoping that once the rush to get Shadowlands out is done, we’ll start hearing about what’s coming next, and we’ll keep reminding Blizzard about this fantastic, underrepresented race that they made…

This is what I am hoping for too!

Playable Sethrak please, Blizzard! :snake: :crossed_fingers:

Links keep taking me to forum home page. But what I think about this Sehtrak race. It’s not happening, it probably could’ve happened instead of Mechagnomes but I just don’t see it.

Ok.

The links are links to the old forums. There were hundreds and hundreds of posts in those old Sethrak threads, hence it says each one was capped. But Blizzard nuked the old forums for some reason. :woman_shrugging:

Oh, jeez. What a sore attitude to have. C’mon, show some positivity! We’re here to discuss what we love about the Sethrak and to support and advocate for their playability someday! Do you like them? Their lore?

Playable Sethrak, please! :heart::pray:

I mean it would be cool but, as of right now if they’re following the order they’ve been doing for the past expansion, we should probably be getting a class next expansion after Shadowlands. Just maybe, we’ll get new races but honestly, I think we should just get official races.

I mean if they were doing that we’d be getting a class in Shadowlands. And they’ve already said that allied races are a system they liked using and will probably use again to introduce new races in the future.

You may be right on the allied race part, I just don’t want to do that ridiculous rep grind I did on the ones I unlocked and I don’t even use most of them.

But with the class, I think it’s the next expansion because with Mop, they added a race and a class then we got WoD which added new race designs, then Legion which was a new class then we got BfA with new races and introduced Allied Races. Now we’re getting Shadowlands that has more customizations. If we do end up getting a Light expansion, I think it’s more fitting with Tinkers to be honest. I don’t see a race being added if the Light is the theme of the expansion.

But yeah I would be ok with Allied Race if they weren’t locked by rep. It doesn’t make sense that I have to be exalted just to play a race. The story and achievement is the more then enough to be honest.

They are no longer locked behind reps in shadowlands. You do still need to do the story quests to unlock them but no rep required

I wouldn’t hold your breath. It’s likely they’ll continue to use the same system and I can pretty much guarantee that rep grinds will be part of getting new allied races. It ain’t broke so they ain’t gonna fix it. If you’re playing the game when it’s current then it’s not a meaningful barrier anyways - I unlocked all of the races through normal gameplay.

Regardless, that’s not the point of this thread.

Yeah that’s a good thing but in like the future is what I mean.

Blizzard has already stated they plan on going forward with AR in the future. They said we won’t see them at the launch of Shadowlands but also said they’re open to the possibility later down the line. The AR system is successful and will likely be how new races are introduced from now on. Look how successful the Vulpera were.

I’d also like to point out, the Sethrak are being continued with in some manner in Shadowlands.

So would you play a Sethrak? Let’s say there is no rep requirement, (I personally don’t mind the grind and would be happy to do whatever task to unlock the snakes) just some storyline achievements. Would you play one? What class would you want to be?

Don’t get me wrong I would like to play one it just doesn’t seem like it fit from what we got in Bfa but if they continue on in shadowlands I’ll try one out and see if it fits me or not. I was an Alliance player and plan on making a new one to see their story in this expansion.

Either Sethrak or Naga need to become an allied races… hopefully both so we can give one to Horde and one to Alliance…

I just wanna be a reptile girl T_T

Serthrak should be like pandas, neutral and you pick whichever side you want, be alliance or horde.

But sadly, it wont happen, blizzard is too lazy in doing armor for skeletons that arent literal copy paste from 15 year old models.

Luckily, sethrak are using the universal character rigging that player races have been using since Warlords now. Most of their animations are based on female worgen, with some tweaks here and there, or borrowing from pandaren in other places. They’re a bit hodgepodge, but they really show off how flexible animation retargeting can be, considering just how different sethrak seem to what we have.

Id trade goblins, common trolls and taurens for a serthrak or naga anyday.

I’d trade both Humans, both Trolls, both Dwarves, both Gnomes, both Orcs, all of the Elves, and both Tauren for Sethrak.

That leaves Sethrak, Goblins, Undead, Draenei. Seems like a much more interesting cast of characters to me!
