I havenât been in this thread for quite a long time, but Iâm back to show my support for playable Sethrak!
Sethrak, Arakkoa, and Saberon are the three races i want to see become playable in the future the most (i love animal races lol), but if i had to choose just one, id definitely choose Sethrak.
This is a game with a fantasy and magic theme.
Imagine playing something like Star Trek On line and only meeting humans or just associating with humans?
Depressing, And without any imagination, right?
Demi-humans add more variety and spice to their customs, cultures and pantheon of gods themselves.
Sethraks would bring one more element than this missing, A playable race based on repteis/snakes and with a âgoddessâ different from the existing ones.
Submitted my bug report for Emeniâs Sethrak model last night. Did it on the PTR. So weâll see if anything changes.
Also, thought to throw in a suggestion to Blizzard to at least add some Sethrak NPCs to the Horde and or Alliance embassies! It wouldnât confirm the race becoming playable but it would be some cool world interaction change and might generate some new or renewed interest and hype. (Kind of like the Horde interaction with the SanâLayn in BfA)
Thatâs hardly going to happen.
Pandarens were made as a neutral race because of two philosophies that govern their society.
And that just divided the player base.
I think itâs unlikely that some neutral race is created and even if it is, it would only relegate the alliance to less important, because many would create in the horde and not in the alliance.
It was really just one ex-developerâs personal thoughts that were anti-neutral race. Theyâve pretty well proved with void elves that his objections were not a concern for the current development team since those effectively created another neutral race, especially with the BE skin tones being added.
Iâm popping in just to add my support to Sethrak as a playable race. Last night, I was wandering around Stormwind and saw a player who used a combination of Reflection Stones and a Rogue ability to turn THEMSELVES into a Sethrak. I literally squealed, it was a little dream come true. I know itâs a far cry from having playable Sethrak, but just being able to see a player wandering Stormwind as one of the snakes⌠Gosh it just made me so happy.
Thereâs still a conspicuous amount of space in both embassies for another banner, as well as another slot left on the new character creation menu to add a race for each side without having to move anything else around. Really makes me wonderâŚ
There was a large group of people a couple years ago that marched in support for playable Sethrak as Sethrak using the same method, in Stormwind. There were those not using toys and glyphs just walking with them in support as well. I linked the post once when I still had my TL3.
There were literally dozens and dozens of people.
This is your Sethrak obsessed Worgen Hunter (Nadezhdha) by the way. -Wavewave-
Someone should repost that link. Itâs great. And really shows the hype people have for Sethrak.
This is part of it, but the album Bagzak linked is the entirety of it! Guess we both linked it at one point. Then I lost my TL3 and have YET to get it back.
But it goes to show how excited people were/are. I think people still are excited about Sethrak. I am. Just most think nothing will come of it. Cause they lost hope after Vulpera and Mechagnomes came out. While my own suspicions is that itâ s just taking a longer time to get playable Sethrak going with all the other stuff Blizzard has to juggle. Theyâre still a business after all and some projects take time or get delayed. And people sometimes forget that. And they forget the people working at Blizzard are human too.
Considering all the room in the new character creation screen, I think itâs very likely weâll see new races in some form in future expansions. Thus, people shouldnât lose hope for the races theyâve been wanting, as hard as the wait can be.
I still think itâs important to continue showing support for races people want playable. You never know what will happen in the future, and giving into despair just isnât fun. Itâs why I still think supporting megathreads is important, as is finding other ways to show support. We may have about a couple years or so of Shadowlands, but weâll have more expansions in the future. Also, as I said before, BfA offered a goldmine of player feedback on races they want playable.
Regardless of what happens, Iâm with yâall all the way. We reptile fans have to stick together! So letâs get some reptiles on that character creation screen!
