Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

Hello my fellow snake lovers!

I haven’t been in this thread for quite a long time, but I’m back to show my support for playable Sethrak!

Sethrak, Arakkoa, and Saberon are the three races i want to see become playable in the future the most (i love animal races lol), but if i had to choose just one, id definitely choose Sethrak. :snake:

This is a game with a fantasy and magic theme.
Imagine playing something like Star Trek On line and only meeting humans or just associating with humans?
Depressing, And without any imagination, right?

Demi-humans add more variety and spice to their customs, cultures and pantheon of gods themselves.

Sethraks would bring one more element than this missing, A playable race based on repteis/snakes and with a “goddess” different from the existing ones.

A non-mammalian race would be an awesome step!

Submitted my bug report for Emeni’s Sethrak model last night. Did it on the PTR. So we’ll see if anything changes.

Also, thought to throw in a suggestion to Blizzard to at least add some Sethrak NPCs to the Horde and or Alliance embassies! It wouldn’t confirm the race becoming playable but it would be some cool world interaction change and might generate some new or renewed interest and hype. (Kind of like the Horde interaction with the San‘Layn in BfA)

They could do it with other NPCs races too.

I like that. I’ll do so as well.

I had this staff drop from a random mob on the Isle of Thunder that unlocked a transmog that looked like it could go well as a Sethrak staff:

It’s called the “Thunder Eagle Staff.”

Wanted to share it in case it interested anyone looking for potential transmog items if Sethrak ever become playable.

Let’s get some reptiles on that character creation screen! :snake: :crocodile: :turtle:

More collectibles are always welcome.

Make it a neutral race (even though Blizz doesn’t want to do them anymore iirc) and every character that I can race change will become a snek boi.

That’s hardly going to happen.
Pandarens were made as a neutral race because of two philosophies that govern their society.
And that just divided the player base.
I think it’s unlikely that some neutral race is created and even if it is, it would only relegate the alliance to less important, because many would create in the horde and not in the alliance.

Anyway, don’t wait for something good in ally.

Thank you so much for the support for playable Sethrak bois!

Neutral could work.

I’d be making my Sethrak in Alliance if they become a neutral AR!

It was really just one ex-developer’s personal thoughts that were anti-neutral race. They’ve pretty well proved with void elves that his objections were not a concern for the current development team since those effectively created another neutral race, especially with the BE skin tones being added.

And with how popular the Sethrak are with both factions, making them neutral would make everyone happy.

Devoted Sethrak on Horde following the storyline after saving Sethraliss. And any Faithless who do not rejoin The Devoted, on The Alliance.

But whatever you do Blizzard, please give one of the factions the snakes. Please. One is better than no playable Sethrak at all.

I’m popping in just to add my support to Sethrak as a playable race. Last night, I was wandering around Stormwind and saw a player who used a combination of Reflection Stones and a Rogue ability to turn THEMSELVES into a Sethrak. I literally squealed, it was a little dream come true. I know it’s a far cry from having playable Sethrak, but just being able to see a player wandering Stormwind as one of the snakes… Gosh it just made me so happy.

There’s still a conspicuous amount of space in both embassies for another banner, as well as another slot left on the new character creation menu to add a race for each side without having to move anything else around. Really makes me wonder…

There was a large group of people a couple years ago that marched in support for playable Sethrak as Sethrak using the same method, in Stormwind. There were those not using toys and glyphs just walking with them in support as well. I linked the post once when I still had my TL3.

There were literally dozens and dozens of people.

This is your Sethrak obsessed Worgen Hunter (Nadezhdha) by the way. :raising_hand_woman: -Wavewave-

Someone should repost that link. It’s great. And really shows the hype people have for Sethrak.

I don’t agree. Pandaren from what I can tell are even on Horde and Alliance. No player loss likely occurred.

Also I’d have 3-4 sethrak Alliance side.

Yesss!

Doesn’t it though?

Not sure if this is what you mean but I found this on Google

I know there’s more images of that parade but I can’t find them

I found an album to a Sethrak event awhile ago. I’ll go ahead and repost it (just click the logo down below to see the images):

Events like these are really neat to see. I hope to be able to do something like this one of these days.

This is part of it, but the album Bagzak linked is the entirety of it! Guess we both linked it at one point. Then I lost my TL3 and have YET to get it back. :expressionless:

But it goes to show how excited people were/are. I think people still are excited about Sethrak. I am. Just most think nothing will come of it. Cause they lost hope after Vulpera and Mechagnomes came out. While my own suspicions is that it’ s just taking a longer time to get playable Sethrak going with all the other stuff Blizzard has to juggle. They’re still a business after all and some projects take time or get delayed. And people sometimes forget that. And they forget the people working at Blizzard are human too.

Considering all the room in the new character creation screen, I think it’s very likely we’ll see new races in some form in future expansions. Thus, people shouldn’t lose hope for the races they’ve been wanting, as hard as the wait can be.

I still think it’s important to continue showing support for races people want playable. You never know what will happen in the future, and giving into despair just isn’t fun. It’s why I still think supporting megathreads is important, as is finding other ways to show support. We may have about a couple years or so of Shadowlands, but we’ll have more expansions in the future. Also, as I said before, BfA offered a goldmine of player feedback on races they want playable.

Regardless of what happens, I’m with y’all all the way. We reptile fans have to stick together! So let’s get some reptiles on that character creation screen! :snake: :crocodile: :turtle:
