Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

Does your phone think all orcs are green or something?

Smh, racism

Hey now. Gators aren’t even green. :joy: Just the fel infused ones.

I am down for Sethrak being a playable HORDE race.

The Horde spent 1/3 of their questing time befriending the Sethrak. An analogy to this would be if there was a very small section of either Witches or the Drust who became friendly to Alliance (though, unfortunately, that did not happen).

It wouldn’t make sense for them to join the Alliance since they’re already commited to the Zandalari, who are part of the Horde.

In addition, the Alliance is extremely intolerant and bigoted. I doubt they’d ever allow something that looks evil to join them.

Does that mean those ones that got exposed to radiation in Florida?

That’s quintessentially Florida

Does this include those 2000s emo kids straight out of Hot Topic except this time they have censored anime word tentacles?

There’s also those werewolf English people

I wish we’d see this in-game, because I hear it all the time, but the Alliance has had almost all of its themes of racism and imperialism played down or stripped away after Classic.

Calling the contemporary Alliance “extremely” intolerant and bigoted is a stretch that Mr. Fantastic could envy.

So are the current active supporters of playable Sethrak. This thread has pretty much changed from: “Sethrak for just Alliance to simply playable Sethrak, please“. Even if we do have our preferences.

See, Sethrak don’t look remotely evil in my opinion. Misunderstood? I can see.

And not to mention we got British Werewolves with anger issues that could literally result in killing one’s friends and comrades. Then we have Death Knights, Dark abyssal Eldritch Horror Elves, Cultist Dark Iron Dwarves and Bionic Gnomes.

I think the Alliance has become fairly tolerant of differences as well as people who were once considered evil/villains.

Bloode purple elves that are polluted with the void opposite to the Light that most virtues professed by the races of the alliance, druids with magic of death and deformed gnomes that mutilate their own bodies? No. They are super normal.

What did setraks do against the alliance? I don’t remember them threatening any people in the alliance, in the same way that the horde races always do. And the bad relationship of the alliance with the races of the horde, has nothing to do with their appearance but with their lack of innate character.

And if Blizzard wants it she invents something and even puts fel murloc on ally, regardless of ally’s values as it was with blood elves rotten with void, opposite to Light and that paladins for some mysterious reason ignore, even though they are the enemy power from Light.

And not to mention canonically, Alliance did not severely harm The Devoted OR The Faithless. We allied with The Devoted, and helped Vorrik out. But The Alliance also did not massacre by the dozens, The Faithless. Nor did The Alliance kill Korthek. That was The Horde and Vorrik.

For all we know, it will be The Faithless Sethrak that become playable.

All in all, we (Sethrak supporters) just want our snakes. Red or Blue.

For the Alliance. :snake:

Would be neat and still give us access to more Loa based themes and such. Also you could still spin druid, paladin and such into it.

Aye, Whatever side they join I’ll be right there with them.

Yes! My preference is always Sethrak for The Alliance! That way my fiancé can keep his Dwarves.

But we won’t cry if Sethrak go Horde, Blizzard!:snake::crossed_fingers:

So I found Emeni’s Sethrak form on the PTR. Her model is really interesting in what she is wearing.

Spoilershttps://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=162223/emeni#modelviewer It looks like a funerary ritual attire.

Ok, but like… Can I has blizz?

Yes! Your body is sporting a look of who was embalmed.
And by the detail, she shows to have really been someone of great prominence in her society.

I wonder if her mouth is sewn shut and the eyes closed underneath… probably something that will never be known but curious if she was embalmed or if she was mummified.

Mummification leaves the mouth open and gives them false eyes.

I really think her model is just bugged. Rather than using the sethrak skin underneath her clothing, she’s presently displaying the texture for the armor she’s wearing. Sandscout Vesarik has been bugged in the same way since Battle launched, and he’s very much alive until players kill him.

That said, if it’s intended, it works surprisingly well.

That’s probably more likely, still fun to speculate.

I really hope its not a mistake and just a thing with Sethrak. lol

You could be right. Especially since random areas of her skin are showing, enough that I can tell she’s got black scales. But it does look like how Egyptian Pharaohs were laid to rest. Or other people of prominence. Guess we’ll see!

I suppose someone could submit a bug report and see if it changes? I’m at work so I can’t.

On a somewhat related note I had a dream last night they hinted at Sethrak becoming playable. One of those darn hyper realistic dreams. I was SO sad when I woke up and worked out it was just a dream. :disappointed:

I submitted a report, and one for Vesarik, but it’s such a low priority issue that I’ll be surprised if it’s ever addressed. In Emeni’s case, the bug does kind of work and end up looking like she’s been wrapped up like you all are saying.

Maybe it is intentional, I don’t know. It’s definitely not a texture intended for that purpose, though!

I’ll be doing the same when I get off work.

I agree that it may be too late to save Vesarik’s pixels.

But we might be able to help Emeni out. If it is indeed a bug.

-Tinfoil hat time- Or maybe Blizzard is just hiding the updated and playable Sethrak model in Emeni alone. :stuck_out_tongue:
