Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

Huh… I wonder why… So yeah that one is out then.

Back to the spit then. :stuck_out_tongue:

I really do like this idea with a small poison dmg and short stun. Both would make it unique and viable in pvp.

It could still work. xD

But it’s curious. I don’t think the Faithless and Devoted are biologically different and I would have thought that the devotion to Sethraliss who has aspects of lightning and storms might be were the Skycaller traits came from. But if they don’t worship, let alone feel her… Where in the world is that ability coming from?

Aye that is really curious.

We don’t see any other power source among their people…

Maybe because Sethrak are lightning infused a little it’s just a matter of their own will and they can teach others… But since none of them are among the Devoted the real issue is that the Devoted just haven’t figured it out?

I’d say that lightning magic is inherent to all sethrak as Vorrik uses lightning as well. The skull of the very first skycaller is also a relic of Sethraliss which the horde save from the faithless that would use ancient holy relics of Sethraliss for their own gain. So at some point skycallers should have been race wide before the split, but now we only see sethrak titled skycaller in the faithless ranks.

I wonder why Izarn says it’s a gift among the Faithless then. Unless that is all Izarn has known.

Maybe it’s left the Devoted since the Faithless split?

That could be possible. Maybe they just haven’t had any new Skycallers since the divide, thus younger Sethrak only associate the Faithless with the ability.

It should also be kept in mind that the skycallers of before Sethraliss death and after the split should be quite different as Sethraliss value peace above all else and dislike war. While the faithless mainly use their abilities just for that purpose. The faithless sethrak have also innovated quite a bit regarding their magic as the sand spires that expand the desert would not have existed before Vol’dun started to wither after Sethraliss death. We also know that they’ve invented lightning grenades by storing lightning inside brittle crystals. I’d imagine that the cannons shooting lightning bolts would also be their invention as the devoted tells us to use the faithless cannons against them. Also the suppression spires they use to dominate the pterrodaxes.

Y’all could be overthinking this. The line is:

He’s speaking specifically about the Faithless in this instance, but I don’t see anything in that statement that precludes any other Sethrak from also having lightning abilities. He’s just saying that some of the Faithless have this power.

Oh yeah I’m sure that there’s plenty of other devoted outside of Vorrik that can weild lightning, it’s just that they’re not titled skycaller that’s interesting to me, when we know that at some point in the past the skycaller’s was related to Sethraliss and the devoted value the skull of the first skycaller as a sacred relic.

I mean. I’m really good at overthinking.

And you’re probably right.

There is a lot of love from the public regarding sethraks.
If they could be a playable breed, they would be almost as popular as vulpes.

That modest fan made selection that you showed just attests to that.

Sethraks would be a hit with players and promote greater variation in races within the game.

In Sethraliss we trust.

It can also be something given by Sethraliss and owned by some sethraks.
Something that always reminds the sethraks of the power of their Loa.

The temple of Sethraliss is always struck by lightning at its top, where the head of a great serpent is.

Visibly, lightning is an element with which Sethraliss is closely associated. :zap: :snake: :zap:

Maybe the Devoted didnt have access to those powers because the Faithless were pulling it from Sethraliss while she recovered. Thus the Devoted didn’t have access?

Thowing my support in for Sethrek for the alliance because you guys are sorely in need of some more unique races.

Yeah…

Seriously though, the sethrak would be a wonderful addition to the Alliance. Their thematic feel, their connection to the Loa something the alliance don’t yet have, their regal stance.

Just need a nice little story to properly link them to the Alliance.

Sethrak for the Alliance! (but seriously playable is fine blizz please) :snake:

It may be, after all, faithless can no longer recognize Sethraliss as an important someone, but recognize their power.

After all, there are better places to use as a HQ than the temple of a deity with which Korthek and his followers no longer serve.

As it is there that Sethraliss this, it makes sense to ensure that Vorrik and others do not have access to a power that would certainly be used against them.

Sethraks need something so elaborate to be a playable race.
Void belves were delivered to ally with nothing more than a post it.

Void elves though had no history before hand. The Sethrak do. We will have to square with their horde connections. That will not be as easy to explain.

Still doable. Just not the same.
