If vulpera hunters start with a cobra, then sethrak hunters should start with a fennec. :stuck_out_tongue:

So, the only content datamined missing is the mythic version, of course and the last cinematics were Tyrande goes away and the Horde forms their club.

So either those Sethrak npc files were just forgotten about/scrapped or they were added for some future content we know absolutely nothing about?

Anything about Sethrak being present at the Horde parliament creation?

Hmm weird, the second part of my post either disappeared or wasnā€™t posted at all.

I talked about how the Hope quest thatā€™s just now available for Alliance was datamined over a year ago, and we already got the new Shadowlands forsaken hairstyles datamined. So I conclude that any NPC files added could indeed be added for them to return in the future, as they take some role in Shadowlands.

I donā€™t think Sethrak are there with the horde, unless the cinematic shows otherwise the text at least didnā€™t have any Sethrak.

Ah okay. That could make a lot of sense.

I think Sethraliss really could have a strong possibility of playing some role in SLā€™s so maybe that is why the Sethrak npc files were added in the PTR.

Yeah, itā€™s possible they would want them to be closer to the Alliance before pulling something random to force them in. We know Tyrande is part of the questing where the ancients go so maybe Sethraliss and other ancients will appear there.

The Alliance is usually closer to the ancients (not the ones who end up identified as troll loa) so that could work.

Well Sethraliss is considered a Loa. But she seems a little different as far as Loa go? All of Volā€™dun withered to sand with her death and that is interesting.

Well, Animal Loas are wild gods as confirmed by Blizz. The Troll Loas tend to be more focused on troll affairs though. Sethraliss is interesting in that her existence/power brings life, which puts her in the same order as Cenarius and the Loa that taught Darkspear to be druids.

This would mean that if Sethrak are playable, they could definitely get druids.

Loa in Warcraft seems like a fairly generalized term for ā€œthings that trolls worshipā€. A lot of them are Wild Gods, but then thereā€™s Gā€™huun the artificial Old God, Shadowlands gods/entities like Bwomsamdi and Hakkar, and since thereā€™s a sect of Zandalari that worship Elune even she could be called a loa in the right context.

hmm there is one?

Trolls also venerate other dead trolls that were supper important so yeah. The distinction (or grouping) is mostly that night elves donā€™t really deal with those wild gods that are considered Loa though, and most Wild gods wouldnā€™t be considered Loa for the rtolls.

Loa does in fact refer to any diety/idol that the trolls worship or see as an embodiment of something. An interesting example is that the Trolls consider Wisps to be Loa.

The majority of them are Wild Gods who take more of an interest in civilized mortal affairs whereas the Wild Gods, more generally worshiped by the Night Elves, tend to keep to the wilds and to themselves.

Sethraliss, was at one point a massive snake, while her Avatar looks like a Sethrak. I would imagine shes more akin to a Wild God Loa rather than some other entity. It is interesting that her Death and the destruction of the seal coincide with the desertification of Volā€™Dun. It is also interesting that she has an entire race of snake folk. Most Loa take followers from Trolls or other races, not something so similar in nature to themselves.

The only other example of something like that that I can think of is Cenarius. He appears like a night elf with a elkā€™s body and his followers were for the most part Night Elves, though he also taught Tauren some time back and now is teaching in part trolls of the Darkspearā€¦ sort of.

It would be really interesting if she turned out to be a little more specialized like Cenarius in SLs and the Alliance worked with her. >.>

This was a small footnote from some lore a long time ago. Iā€™m not sure if its canon anymore, or if its mentioned more recently. But there was a group worshiping Elune as a Loa at one point. Also since Night Elves came from the Dark Trolls and those trolls worshiped Elune that bit is still true.

Theyā€™re actually in game! Theyā€™re squirreled away in a little grove in Zandalar.

I donā€™t recall if they have any quests or flavor text to expand on who they are, but they definitely exist.

Ah beautiful! Love it when the devs donā€™t forget the more hidden lore. :stuck_out_tongue:

I must away to see my kin!

All of this makes me wonder where the Sethrak came from. We know they arenā€™t modified trolls. That was confirmed by a Dev.

I assume theyā€™re an Azeroth native but who knows? Perhaps Sethraliss herself is their creator?

This is what Iā€™m leaning towards too. I think Sethraliss has more power than the average Loa or Wild God. Enough to push the evolution of some creatures. Iā€™d bet she made her people, the Sethrak, to help serve her in some cause.

Disgusting, we should exterminate them at once.

Same as all other people who come from wild gods I suppose.

It occurs to me that the more Recent Loa lore also shows a proclivity towards Bargains. Loa make deals to give you power, while Wild Gods more or less refuse to give you power till you prove yourself a defender of nature.

Makes Loa act more like the Elementals for shaman in that way.
