Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread šŸ

So. I couldnā€™t sleep last night and ended up doing some thinking.

Say there is a third group of Sethrak. Like a splinter group the MVP suggested or just a third population living elsewhere as weā€™ve speculated before. Or even the Faithless.

If they donā€™t worship a Loa, what sort of classes could we see? Iā€™m thinking Sethrak could potentially have a diverse class group as we discussed previously but which Sethrak weā€™d get would affect this.

Iā€™m betting Paladins would be a likely addition in that case. Without having to mold them specifically around Sethraliss Blizz would likely add another pally to the Alliance. I also think Druid would be a little more likely in this case. Shamans, are of course likely too.

Of course Iā€™d imagine still have warrior, hunter, rogue, probably mage and priest.

They would probably just worship a different set of Loa I think, like all the different troll groups seem to find different Loa to worship. I think that would still be a great way to introduce more classes for them, depending on what they decide to worship in their new lands they could potentially unlock anything.

I donā€™t know 100% of the troll lore but are there any (besides the northerend ones who killed theirs) that donā€™t have loa?

This is even further out there and not something I foresee even happening given the lore we know of.

But how would you all feel about a group of Sethrak devoted to dragons? And whichever flight/aspect they are devoted to gives them a special set of racials and skin tones?

In some mythologies snakes become dragons or are related.

A whole class could come from this, honestly.

I want to play a Sethrak Paladin so BADLY. And I really hope that if Sethrak are added, Blizzard does find a way to work it so Paladins are on the table.

A Sethrak priest would my go to class for them I would love to play one or a mage.

Iā€™d say priests will be a given as one of the classes if theyā€™re added since we have at least one Sethrak priest in game already.

So lately Iā€™ve been looking into completing the ā€œVorrikā€™s Championā€ achievement, which Iā€™ve been meaning to for awhile. If Sethrak ever became playable, it may not be a requirement to unlock them, but I figure doing it would be a good idea just in case. Also with saving Sethraliss and being a champion of theirs, maybe I could talk them into joining and becoming playable. :stuck_out_tongue:

If anyone is interested, you can find info on the achievement here, though note that despite what some comments say, it appears you need to do all three criteria to get it:

Isnā€™t this a Horde only achievement?

Which would work if Sethrak go Horde. If they went Alliance this would have to be doable by Alliance as well.

There is also the Snake Eater achievement in Temple of Sethraliss. And I see this achievement more likely to be part of unlocking Sethrak as an playable race than say Vorrikā€™s Champion. Blizzard does like to give us dungeon achievements for part of the prerequisites. Which is fine. It never bothered me. Think itā€™s kind of fun honestly!

Or why not both? :woman_shrugging:t2:

Add Sethrak yes please.

The fact we got Mechagnomes instead of hecking Sneks bothers me to no end, but that might also be because I have a visceral hatred for gnomes.

Said this before in a thread, but they remind me of those old campfire stories / movies about dolls that a kid throws away or loses and it comes back and kills them.

That and as an artist stand point they have the strangest proportions ever, them and goblins. My God.

I actually donā€™t think theyā€™re all that bad because for a small race they are actually pretty proportionate, I really dislike games that give their small races toddler or child proportions cause then all I can see are literal babies waddling into a raid encounter.

Compared to snakes they are off in another galaxy, no lie, but I have a soft spot for the people who actually do like them and are excited so I will let them enjoy them this upcoming week.

I will still be bothered internally, at least until we get snakes or final word of the snakes.

Blizz has to make them an AR think of all the snake puns and jokes they get to make.

Then donā€™t play Guild Wars 2. The Asura waddle is real.

I love the Asura. Theyā€™re adorable but their waddle walk is comical.

Youā€™re right. I forgot this was a Horde-only achievement. If Sethrak did become Alliance, I assume they would add in some new achievements as some form of criteria, unless Iā€™m overlooking some currently existing achievements. We might see a new rep as well.

As for the ā€œSnaker Eaterā€ achievement, judging from the description, it appears to just be an extra fun thing to do and isnā€™t really something that seems like it would tie specifically to Sethrak. It also serves as a reference to the ā€œMetal Gearā€ video game series. Personally, I would hope they wouldnā€™t require a mythic-only achievement to unlock an allied race, but that is just me.

If anyone is curious, here is the ā€œSnake Eaterā€ achievement mentioned:

Ya, even if the final word is ā€˜noā€™ we see now how well that went for Vulpera.

The fact that we donā€™t have a toy that allows us to transform into one yet is maybe goodish sign?

Donā€™t give them ideas! Iā€™ll riot.

I donā€™t think they really gave a flat out no to the vulps, did they? I feel like theyā€™ve only outright dumped on HE (rightfully so) and just said for Vulp something more along the lines of ā€œmaybeā€.

True.

Though the fact that it turns you into a Sethrak might be hinting at something.

No, I do not recall them ever making a statement of ā€œNoā€ to Vulpera. They definitely tried to keep it at a maybe, especially when certain things were datamined about them. But it was never a, no. And look where we are now with them.

And we havenā€™t gotten a no on Sethrak either. Which is good but then just leaves us in the purgatory gray area of guessing and speculation. And that just twists my stomach into knots. Gives me anxiety. But I am also very excited.
