Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

Definitely a possibility. Could be Faithless fugitives as well. Which could still tie into things in favor of Sethrak AR.

Off to class soon and by the time i get back, my sub time will have expired and i may not be able to post (again).

Just wanted to throw out one last post saying keep up the good fight. I’ll still be keeping tabs on sethrak until it’s clear we’re not getting them. Hopefully i’ll return someday, and hopefully that day is soon.

keep up the good fight, and praise Sethrallis! :snake:

edit: yep, no game time = no more posting. i can edit, but that’s it. Good luck, guys!

edit #2: This is way later (Jan 29), but i refuse to resub just to post on the forums, so hopefully some sethrak enthusiast is scrolling through past posts and sees this.

As stated many times before, I have no problems with Sethrak going horde, but if anyone says “they can’t go alliance because of all the horde has done for them,” i offer this rebuttal:

  • The vulpera are now officially part of the horde.
  • Vorrik expressed interest in reuniting his people (meaning the faithless would rejoin the devoted)
  • The vulpera and/or the horde as a whole could be very much against the enemies that fought and enslaved their brethren being ‘forgiven’ and allowed to rejoin sethrak society
  • The alliance has recently had a bunch reunifications within various races, some of which were even viewed as ‘evil’ factions, but have since proven they can put aside their differences and work together: Bronzebeard and Darkiron (who were considered evil until just recently); Stormwind, Gilneas, and Kul Tiras (All of which agree that they’ve all made mistakes in the past, but are stronger together), And even the NElves might regret -not- reuniting with the nightborne, as it has proven to be a huge mistake, pushing a powerful group to side with their enemy.
  • Because of all this, the alliance might be much more sympathetic to the Sethraks’ plight
  • minor thing, but why would Blizz write the Alliance saving Vorrik and the Horde saving Serrik (and not vice versa), when it is Vorrik that ultimately ends up as the leader of the Sethrak? If things are as some Horde Players might suggest, and Blizz only added the Alliance quest as breadcrumbs to get some dailies, then why give the Alliance correspondence with the more important of the two good Sethrak leaders?

I’ve meant to point out that this Rattlesnake is FAT. :joy:

Pudgy rattlesnakes are hilarious.

Any pudgy snake is amazing.

Honestly I think it’d be neat if Sethrak females were thick and curvy. Big hips and thighs at least. As one body option. Thicker and shorter tail without a rattle. The chest could remain relatively the same since snakes do not have mammalian mammary glands.

Would be a different way of showing the sexual dimorphism between the males and females. And would give them a feminine feel.

But androgynous would be fine.

There are plenty of women out there that lack a defined bosom. Or let’s talk about women who have had mastectomies for various reasons.

Bust does not define a woman.

I would love that.

I think having them more hippy would work, there is already some dimorphism with Sethrallis as I mentioned earlier so they should just push that more I think, for the people who are unable to relate to anything non-human.

Keeping the top flat but exaggerating the curves would be a fair middle ground.

I’d like to see the females taller as well.

I love Sethraliss’ design and as she is already; she feels very feminine. A pretty and regal woman despite lacking the “typical” or “classic” attributes to portray such. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Taller would be nice. Maybe make the females about as tall as male Night Elves? I think they’re taller than Worgen? I know the Sethrak got reduced to Worgen size. The Sethrak ladies should maybe feel Amazonian compared to the males?

I have mentioned it before but a good example of a playable Reptile outside the Argonians is the Lizardmen from Divine Divinity 2, the female and male are very different but still look similar enough to be a species, i believe there females body had a more tucked in stomach which caused the chest to protrude a ‘breast’ which was actually nothing different, it just looked it from a outside standpoint because the stomach was slimmer than a humans or a elfs when comparing genders.

I believe thats a good workaround for female dimorphism but keeps the cliche ‘chest’ area with a logical reasoning behind it.

I prefer her as is too but I know the biggest complaint I see pop up is that they can’t be an AR cause the female is not distinct.

I think size wise if males stick around the same height… well maybe even about Fem Tauren size for the ladies would work, Amazonian definitely.

The females were much taller as well, works well for reptilian races.

I agree! All the females need are some thicker, armor like scale plates on their chest that could give the illusion of mammalian breasts if they NEED to look that way to be made playable.

Another race this kind of reminds me of are Sylvari from Guild Wars 2. They’re sentient plants. Kind of like Dryads. And they have the illusion of mammalian secondary sexual characteristics. They just don’t function, it’s just aesthetic. And it’s simply because the tree that bore them decided to loosely base them off humans.

Yes… They’re not grown from the corpses underneath the tree… Yesss.

Nah I’m kidding. I miss my Sylvari.

The charr also have little change of the normal boob add in.

I personally hope sethrak don’t have “boobs”. I really like the idea of a reptile race that doesn’t have mammalian characteristics.

Lmao.

I almost forgot the charr have no breasts (at least not like the more human looking humanoids) But they feel distinctly female AND are mammals. And Charr are popular. Who doesn’t like burly war monger cat people?

But yeah, female Sethrak should be an easy design especially with Sethraliss already existing.

I have five charr 2 female 3 male. Sometimes I forget which is what gender. Lol

Also the Asura now I think on it.

I really do like Sethraliss’ model.

I have too many characters on Gw2.
Mostly Charr and Sylvari.

I do have an Asura Mesmer. And I don’t think there is really any dimorphism in Asura? I think maybe the females are a little more curvy but that’s it? And well a more feminine face.

There is definitely a player type/group who prefers monster/beast races. I’d say I’m one of those players.

I find playing humans so boring. In any game.

Blizzard needs more races that appeal to those player groups. And a reptilian race is long past overdue in my opinion.

Look how popular Argonians are. And I know people like the Sangheili from Halo.

Sethrak make the most sense. They’re more polished than say Saurok. And Blizzard wouldn’t have to worry about how to make armor work on them as much as say the Naga (who i don’t really consider reptilian).

Not sure if this was mentioned yet but I found this blurb from Vorrik interesting now with the reveal of Shadowlands:

“This temple is the resting place of Sethraliss, a powerful loa that protected my people from destruction long ago.
She sacrificed herself to stop Mythrax… but with her death, the jungles of Vol’dun withered to sand.
The time of her rebirth has passed, and now I fear something is preventing her from returning.”

Obviously she has been revived but I wonder if the events Sylvanas put into action had something to do with her being unable to return. And if so perhaps it or Sethraliss herself will come up or play a part in Shadowlands.

It didn’t take anything fancy, and yet it’s satisfying.
