Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

I believe blizzard did say that AR's were already planned out from the beginning, and considering i'm not seeing any evidence that can support Sethrak being an AR compared to the Vulpera.. I can only Assume blizz has no plans for them... sorry guys

They would be cool but I don't think blizzard is planning on making them playable unless something interesting happens next patch.

Read the first post. This also might be enlightening for you. It goes more in depth about the beta patches and technical points about sethrak.

Hey! I liked this Varactyl in the movie! ^^
A very slight and slender mount!

Look up Great Gyrios

Could there be a similar form, the druid form dps, if sethraks could be druids?

It could be as simple as Sylvanas wanting to bring them both into the Horde and Vorrik saying "No thanks. Just got done with a Civil war here, I'd like to focus on reunifying the Sethrak. Besides, the Alliance saved my life and helped take back my temple. I'd like to remain neutral" We know she probably wouldn't take that for an answer and launch an attack on them.

By mere speculation she began the war and for very little set fire to Darnassus!

After so many setbacks in Zandalar (and even what happens with nathanos) I see her with less tolerance with those who do not bend to their whims and come to Vorrik with an ultimatum "to serve her in life or in death"!!

Lord knows Nisha would salivate at the thought of killing more snakes.

LOL!
Sethrak druids are really compelling in a number of ways.

1. They would give the Alliance another much-needed druid race
2. Their forms could mirror the Zandalari forms (which are amazing) in a few ways that the Kul Tiran forms do not (such as no new moonkin frame). As well, I don't see any forms the sethrak take to be mammalian so the Zandalari forms could be a good base.
3. Devoted sethrak druids could be key in the potential terraforming of Vol'dun. The alliance needs farmland for their base, and many wish to see the environmental destruction caused by the faithless reversed. I see this as a partial burgeoning of oases
Vulpera thread is almost at 2000 posts..... Shame ours was never extended from the start. We would have already smashed that goal! I wonder why that is anyways. Do the forum mods just hate snakes or something?

Be careful what you wish for. The High Elf thread was extended multiple times and even graced with blue post verification. The HE fans were on cloud nine with smugness and confidence.

...Right up until Ion elbow-dropped their hopes in the throat.

Though I have little doubt Vulpera are going Horde (the datamined info literally had them working with the Horde with blight weaponry until Blizzard freaked out and encryped anything to do with ARs), I take Blizzard wanting to ignore any question or thread to do with Sethrak as a positive note. Until Blizzcon, no news is good news because when it comes to disappointing folks, Ion and friends take no prisoners. Meanwhile, if Sethrak are on the cards for us, saying absolutely nothing about them to preserve their precious marketing hype is exactly what I would expect Blizzard to do.

Wait what happened to high elves? They seem to still be keeping their threads alive and pretending nothing happened if it did.

There is a good bit of truth here. No official word either way leaves it quite open for our speculating and theory-crafting, at they very least for our own collective entertainment.

Though at the same time it can be frustrating. I recall way back in Cata Beta, Blues were always replying to Goblin threads, but Worgen ones were never touched. And then we saw how that all turned out.

Their thread has come back but they seem to deny the fact Ion said not gonna happen multiple times. I dont laugh at them though cause I know what it's like to want an AR badly lol.

But I also take no news from blizzard as good news right now.
Real talk. Been playing WoW since 2005, over 13 years. You guys make Alliance Sethrak Druids happed and I’ll sub to 2030, make it a cool quarter century of WoW. Not even playing.

I can relate to this kind of sentiment, just with Alliance Arakkoa Paladins. Though Sethrak have secured a solid second-place in my "Please make this a playable race option Blizz!" list.

I'd probably run a Warrior, rocking the Stormwind plate.
has any blue posts even appeared in these sethrak posts that have deposited their thoughts?

I mean like 7 threads and no blue posts concern me.
Well, as was said prior, sometimes no news is good news. They have gotten pretty mum on Allied Races, and seems to be more careful of what gets onto the PTR now, as well.

At least there hasn't been the "No it pretty much will never happen" kind of response like High Elves advocates have gotten.

... Learn when someone is just playing with you, no need to be sensitive.

I tried being a sensitive person before. My good nature was heavily abused. Blame the people that came before you if you want a reason for my irritable demeanor during those earlier hours of the morning. Not meaning to even be rude, if that's how things are coming out. Also, what you said in regards to me popping back in to the thread is just typical attempts at trolling I've seen innumerable times on these forums. You may have been poking fun, but that's not the first thing somebody on these forums is going to think seeing a post like that. Just saying.

Wow. That fel-tainted elf wins the "Forum's Biggest !@#$%^-" award for the day, I do believe.

What a condescending, arrogant *!@#. Haha.

Whatever makes you sleep better at night dude, think whateeeever you want about me. It matters not one damned bit to me in the end. You're not relevant whatsoever to my life, and your words means less to me you realize. If you thinking I am a condescending, arrogant !@#, somehow makes you feel better, somehow, then go ahead man. You don't know me, and being antagonized from you inside of a forum thread shows just how hypocritical you yourself are. If you thought, that with this singular post of yours, you were on some moral high ground above me, you are dead wrong.

YOu cared enough to respond lol
I support this, Blizz get on it!

this was the same thing that happened to the worgen update thread for a long time. A blue finally responded but it was just to help extend the cap. But tbh i feel like the silence is the best thing we have rn. Better than them just upright saying no and to stop asking.

It shouldn't.

Anything as important as ARs are going to announced via an official developer statement. Not dropped casually in a thread by some CM.

With anything like the proposed Vulpera/Sethrak matchup, I would expect them to be announced at nothing but Blizzcon. Blizzard knows ARs like this would be a licence to print money and are likely saving it all for the big day for maximum marketing potential. Vulpera working with the Horde was uncovered during beta had the developers in a frenzy to encrypt each and every scrap of AR info from dataminers ever since. Combined with adamant refusal to talk about ARs in Q&As to date would tend to support a theory they are keeping such news under wraps until Blizzcon.

If we are still in the dark about our scaley friends a month from now then I would start to get worried but at the moment, radio silence about them is exactly what I expect.
WoW shower thought-

If Vulpera go to Horde, and Sethrak join with the Alliance... Does that mean there could be a following Fox vs Snek desert warfront scenario? Would that likely be a good thing, or a bad thing?
I could see that warfront being a thing. With 8.1 there’ll be three warfronts, two of which are on Alliance lands so that’s even up the numbers. Could put a major crimp in the leveling process and BfA content access though.

I only worry about a Warfront in Voldum, if there is a vulpera named "Homel", living there!! ^^
