Unofficial Playable Mok'Nathal Discussion Thread

I’d love to have the Mok’nathal among the playable races. Love their models.

I would love half ogres too but the only hesitation I have is Rexxar uses the male KT frame. I would not want the females to use the KT frame. It’s horrible.

Well they can use this model if you don’t like the KT model. I don’t know why you don’t like it but it should be better (I think). Of course the female model use the KT frame too but with another flavor. Do you prefer this model or do you dislike this model and prefer a new one for the female mok’nathal model?

Both of these would be cool.

It has a whole lot in common with the female orcs and vrykul. It’d work great.
Looks great on the female maldraxxi gladiators.

Those are based on the female kultiran and the male ogre.

What a wonderfully done thread!

I was hoping w Rexxar and Mok’Nathal appearing in the Orc heritage story we might in the future see them playable

I think there’s a fair chance of that.

Was really neat to see the Mok’nathal and Dragonmaw in that quest very much continuing their support for the Horde.

Some words about the new orc quest for their heritage armor

In the new orc heritage armor questline, two famous mok’nathal are here:

  • Rexxar saying:
“I did not know Thrall was going to invite the Mok’nathal to the Kosh’harg.
They deserve their place here, and I am glad to see them among the orcs, but… I have not spoken to my father since I left to join the Horde all those years ago.
He was not ready to accept me back as his son when I was last in Outland. I do not know if he is ready now.
This will be a difficult day for us.”

  • Leoroxx saying:
“I was surprised when Thrall reached out with an invitation to the Kosh’harg. The Mok’nathal have never been included before–we were considered half-breeds by the Old Horde. Lesser than true orcs.
In our isolation in Outland, I did not realize how much had truly changed. It may be time for an earnest discussion with my son.”

  • We also have a female mok’nathal, Silmara, saying:
“It is my hope that the Kosh’harg will show Leoroxx that the isolation of the Mok’nathal can finally end.
The journey from Outland has ignited in me a desire to explore. If that runt Rexxar has seen all of Azeroth, so should I!”

It’s nice to see her saying that because now, maybe more mok’nathal will come on Azeroth to help the Horde or to explore this new land.

It’s a great news to have these three mok’nathal too because it means a lot of for them and for the Horde:

  • Get an invitation to the Kosh’harg means the orcs of the Horde have a good opinion about the mok’nathal.
  • The orcs from the Horde consider them as a part of the Horde and of the orcs.
  • The mok’nathal aren’t so secluded in their village to get an invitation here (their chief, Leoroxx, comes from Oudland to be here so it’s a long travel for him).
  • The mok’nathal still seem to be interested to be a part of the Horde even now because their chief comes for an old orcish tradition (Kosh’harg).
  • The “mok’nathal clan” is a clan considered as equal and being a part of the other orc clans.
  • Leoroxx, father of Rexxar, and Rexxar, champion of the Horde, will speak together. Rexxar will probably come back in Outland to see the other mok’nathal.
  • The mok’nathal will probably take a bigger role in the Horde in the future

With all of that, it could be interesting for the mok’nathal to get their own model using the NPC models from Maldraxxus. The default model is just a high mag’har model. A model like Rexxar should be better because the brown is better and there are rounded teeth like what the ogres can have.

It could be interesting too to see them playing a bigger role in the Horde and develop their lore.

Expending their relation with the orcs of the Horde could be interesting too.

I’d love seeing them finally playable.
I’ve got a character I’d race change into one pretty quick…or remake since he’s low level =P

I still don’t understand why they aren’t Playable yet. They already have all the assets they need to get them working and it wouldn’t be hard to get armor to work for them. I know many want Ogres but Mok’nathal may be the best compromise as they would take far less to add in and the ones allied to the Horde are intelligent. Ogres that do work with the Horde aren’t the smart/evil ones… They’re the dumb brutes.

Hey not bad. I would kill to see those models for Ogres/Mok’nathal. XD

I’d really like that!

The Mok’nathal are an amazing clan and the model Rexxar uses is very nice.

With warlock available for every race, I won’t be surprise to see Paladin, Shaman and Druid unlocked for every race too. But what could we get with these 3 classes for Mok’Nathal?

We will have 3 classes: Paladin, Shaman and Druid. So let’s see what we could have:

Paladin:
It’s difficult to see Mok’Nathal with the paladin class because they don’t believe to the Light. But we could get Mok’Nathal paladin with an expansion about the Light and the Lightbound. Some Orcs from the Lightbound could teach the Light to the Mok’Nathal and how to be paladin. But I admit I don’t see many ways for them to be paladin.

They will use the power from the Light and their mount will be a Warp stalker with an armor.

Shaman:
They can already be shaman.

Druid:
I could see a mix with the species from Outland and some basic species from Azeroth for their druid forms.

  • Cat Form: Warp stalker

  • Bear Form: Bear

  • Moonkin Form: Yellow Moonkin

  • Tree of Life Form: Tree of Life yellow

  • Travel Form: Outland Raptor

  • Aquatic Form: Walrus

  • Flight Form: Kaliri

Based on Silmara model, we could have another Mok’Nathal female on Azeroth since Cataclysm in the Stonemaul Hold in Feralas. This character is Orhan Ogreblade.

Keep in mind it’s just a hypothesis because nothing tell us it’s a Mok’Nathal. But if one day we get the answer, it could mean some Mok’Nathal where on Azeroth with Rexxar (without being with him) and not in the Outland. They help the Horde in Feralas so Rexxar weren’t the only Mok’Nathal to help the Horde from WotLK until Shadowland.

With the recent orc heritage quest there seems to be a fair chance of the Mok’Nathal fully joining and being a part of the Horde in a way that they’ve not been before so hopefully that will lead to the Mok’Nathal being playable!

Seeing a Mok’Nathal ambassador in Orgrimmar with its own model after the Kosh’harg could be a first step to get Mok’Nathal as playable race.

Silmara could be this Mok’Nathal ambassador for the Horde.

That would be awesome. Along with several other races that have been in the Horde in some capacity having an ambassador would be nice.

Ogres, Hozen, Taunka to name a few.
