Gotcha, that makes sense that it was spreading to the humans since that’s the whole point of the curse. It was more the origin of the first worgen he was summoning that was expanded.
They’d already been in the dream for 9,300 years with no physical effects.
There’s also a Forsaken Worgen. Apothecary Berard. But we don’t talk about that.
True, the first ones would have exhibited that then…eh, who knows.
Weird, remnant from before things were expanded on?
More or less. But yeah, from Vanilla. Quite an interesting time.
In short, Archmage Arugal was a mage, and was able to polymorph people, as one does. He was able to polymorph the Pyrewood villagers below the keep, and a forsaken alchemist that was sent to investigate him.
This should be something they should add in. In the lore, they are the first worgen. It would make it easy since the Worgen Heritage armor has us going into the Emerald Dream. Blizzard can make something up that will allow them to come out and into Azeroth.
This has my support.
Yep, at this point there’s really no reason not to add them as playable.
I’ve thought Satyr would be a neat option for the horde.
Six month old necro!
Literally the worst most pointless and arguably stupid idea for an allied race since Wildhammer and Azsuna ghost elves.
Not to mention canonically impossible. I haven’t read the posts here, because I really don’t have to:
The most powerful Night Elf Druid to have ever existed - and one of the most powerful characters on Azeroth - Malfurion, could not control Pack Form. He tried, wound up losing control of it completely and attacking Cenarius. That’s all I need to know to say Pack Form is forbidden for a damned good reason.
The only way I ever see it coming back into the game is if Tyrande gets killed, or near-killed and Malfurion decides to deliberately surrender himself to it and go crazy on whoever went after her.
I could get behind this. I read the lore of the Scythe of Elune pretty thoroughly before worgen were announced to figure out how they would introduce the race, eager to have playable worgen, but once they became playable the mystery was more-or-less gone. I hadn’t considered Night Elf Worgen, though!
ALSO, since Tyrande has gone so far to take on the Avater of the Night Warrior, a very dangerous ritual, to embody her vengeance… I believe she would do this as well to help aide her on her warpath. Genn, no doubt, would love to see the Dark Lady brought down and I imagine would help in any way he could.
Well you apparently either did not read, or ignored, the lore that specifically states even Malfurion could not control Pack Form:
The pack form [1] is a druidic animal form that takes the shape of a wolf. Its power and ferocity embody the uncontrollable fury of the wolf Ancient Goldrinn. Those who undergo the transformation thus tend to lose their minds to the form’s feral animal instincts. Malfurion Stormrage himself had experimented with the form long ago and, consumed by its rage, went as far as blindly attacking his mentor, Cenarius. The demigod had to put him to sleep within the Great Tree Daral’nir, where he regained his senses. Due to its uncontrollable nature, Malfurion thereafter prohibited the use of this form.[2]
The Druids of the Pack were druids who disobeyed Malfurion’s edict, and eventually lost themselves to the wolf form. During the War of the Satyr, Ralaar Fangfire would become their leader and through his efforts to control and master this untameable form, created the first worgen.[3] Despite their good intentions, the worgen were still unable to control the form’s unbridled fury, and turned against the night elves. Malfurion was forced to banish the worgen to sleep eternally within Daral’nir in the Emerald Dream, mourning the loss of his fellow druids.
I saw it. I don’t appreciate the condescending reply.
I was told the exact same thing when I told everyone Worgen would be playable.
It wasn’t possible.
Welp.
kicks back, watching the “Replying…” at the bottom of the page with a smile
I mean, say what you want. It’s not up to you or me to make it possible in the long run, and it’s not wrong to get behind the idea… but, you know, y’all gotta argue.
It’s not at all condescending. You said a lot of things that in no way point to Pack Form being accessible. Tyrande is not a Druid, doesn’t factor into what may or may not be possible with them, and Malfurion not only couldn’t control the form himself but put those who tried to sleep - forever - in the Dream.
So as I said, you either didn’t read the lore surrounding Pack Form or you ignored it…and this response of yours proves that what I said was entirely correct; you’re ignoring it.
He’s also been through a lot since his first attempt.
Like i said, It’s ultimately not up to you or me for it to be possible. Crushing the idea and speculation of a thing that doesn’t exist just to be right is kinda petty.
It’s not petty to not want to see the lore demolished so people can have some new shiny.
Yes, Blizzard could absolutely retcon the history of the form and the history of the Worgen - since Worgen came into being only because of the maddened actions of Pack Form Druids, as a side effect of the use of the Scythe. Or they could just handwave a new “Malfurion has discovered how to not only control the form himself but teach other Druids to do the same”…which leads me to:
Pack Form would be a Druid wolf form - it would not be a NE Worgen. The OP based their premise of NE Worgen off of Pack Form, which is what led to my responses in this thread. Had it been based on Night Elves somehow becoming susceptible to the Curse my responses would have been different. I’m not remotely anti-Worgen, you see:
In fact, I have one as my senior Alliance character.
All I’m saying is, it would be really cool to see Tyrande ask her husband, with the possible aide of Genn, to try to get that army of feral worgen out of the dream to try and add them to their “anti-Sylvanas” army.
I fully support this idea. This would be incredible, especially with the Night Elves and Worgen being more closely aligned than ever due to recent events.
Exactly!!!
I like the idea. Support!
