Well, I mean. We have Void elves Kul Tiran humans Lightforged draenei Dark Iron dwarves
(Adjective)+(Existing Race)
“Kaldorei worgen” seems to fit the theme well. Though I’ll agree that the three-word “Night Elf Worgen” might be a bit more.
Forgive my passion in that statement, and vagueness. I was referring to creating new lore and changing the race, when it is good as is. I respect the creativity of Gold’dorei and Worg’dorei, but I believe Kaldorei Worgen works. The idea of making them glow or sparkle or whatnot is interesting, but I believe it to be unnecessary.
Which, I’m not sure who said it at this point. Someone else might have said it, and I reacted.
Oh yes. I agree. I do find myself wishing the human form had more “hints” even for the human worgen. Though I know it’s not supposed to, since the ability to blend in with regular humans was/is essencial to the Wolf Cult’s success. But even so, a little more body hair here, some scarred options, etc would be great for both Gilnean Worgen and Kaldorei Worgen.
My bias would be to clearly have a unique and always distinguishable Nelf Worgen. Do you really just want a worgen with the same colors but with “some” small plethora of options?
You shouldn’t be allowed to make a Nelf Worgen in any possible way, on the face of course, look like a Gilnean worgen.
Obviously look at Dark Iron dwarves and see their pre-BFA models. No flame beards, no piercings etc.
The fact Dark Iron’s are very unique from normal Dwarves is what we want for Nelf Worgens, if they will ever exist as playable.
I wouldn’t think anyone wants a moderate worgen model as compared to gilneas worgen. In terms of customization only.
You can use the adjective of all of those to easily refer to the race. You can’t use Kal’dorei as those are Night Elves.
Sure, they’re Kal’dorei Worgen, but they’re more than Kal’dorei now.
Ah, but we know it’s going to be expanded.
I disagree as both words used alone refer to other playable races.
The adjective needs to be unique to them as is with the other allied races.
Yup, for the Elves, it was shown as such in the comic, that was why I thought it’d be a neat addition.
I’m kind of curious what options there could be that wouldn’t push it over the top. Personally, I don’t want some wildly colorful or decorated worgen form. There does need to be some options, but they need to remain as options incase people don’t like them. Perhaps the stance could be changed…I’d like them to stand a bit more upright. The options for adornments in their hair/mane/beard etc would fine, as an option.
It’s a shame eyeglow couldn’t be a Night Elven worgen customization option since Night Elven eyes already glow where humans don’t.
I wouldn’t mind a larger size as night elves are already larger. Just changing the stance could give that impression though.
The comic didn’t seem to show a size difference, but there wasn’t much of a size difference depicted when there should have been for others races either.
Technically it is the same form, so it should look pretty similar.
Stance could be a real good way to do it. And I mainly just mean when idle, similar to the upright posture for orcs.
I was kinda wondering how some fade/ombre hair styles or manes or fur color could be done…subtle color streaking like Ralaar had?
It doesn’t have to be either A- Pretty much look like Gilnean Worgen or B- exagerated features and antlers, colors, and unique features that don’t even exist on the worgen in the first place at all.
My bias is I like how Kaldorei Worgen already are.
If they’re just like Gilnean Worgen, then you’ve got a point, they shouldn’t be an allied race.
For me, the same applies for if they’re completely butchered. My bias is I like the Kaldorei Worgen from lore as they already are, and I believe they are different enough as is. If mutating them into something entirely different is required, than I do not want it at all.
I understand your bias, being that you want it to be different and recognizable. I believe that can be done with already existing lore, using scars, tattoos, kaldorei form, and more.
Exactly, make it all options so you can do it as you prefer.
I’m kinda thinking like demon hunters.
You can look like an elf with green eyes but you can also add a scaley skin texture, horns, and glowing tattoos.
You’ve got a pretty good range of ornamentation.
Yeah, I’m just left wondering what the change would be that always signifies it to be an elven worgen. A straighter more regal stance would certainly do it, but if we want a model change, would it be via fur color? I like more earthtones and regular actual fur colors.
Now if these are only options and you could go either way, then sure.
They haven’t appeared in game and only in the comics. Things can change. The game itself doesn’t look the same as the artwork form the TCG or the comics.
We’ve never seen the Nelf Worgen in game yet. So when we do it won’t necessarily be the same.
Even Thrall has changed his appearance over time.
Whether its bad or good, Blizzard will most likely do this again.
Yeah, I’d linked it up above.
I wouldn’t mind it being an option, but I feel it makes more sense for druids.
I was suggesting it as the Balance form as it also has feathers and such, sort of the way Malfurion has additional animal elements.
Technically we have as all Worgen prior to their being Gilnean worgen would have been Night Elves. So Vanilla Shadowfang keep. Although, models have been replaced over the years. Blood Elves were once just yellow haired Night elf models.
So I’m kinda open to it.
I’m mainly wanting a cool looking Werewolf with natural fur colors that has an Elven form, and being a druid, can shift into all wolf based druid forms.
I mean come on. I like Lightforged Draenei myself more than normal Draenei but I’m still mad they didn’t give us Broken and High Elves.
Instead of Velfs and Lightforged. For real. That would have been way more awesome and I know there is the issue of relating to Legion as the 4 Allied Races did etc. etc.
I’m just saying what I’d like, not what makes sense.
Lightforged are generally speaking, from my own observation, the most ridiculed Allied Race in the game until Kul Tiran information became more clear.
Lightforged are pretty awesome, they’ve got some pretty cool visual options too.
I’m going to be upset if they don’t add Broken as well. I’ve always figured that was why Velen was in the Embassy. If he doesn’t team up with the Lightforged to use the Vindicaar to go back to Argus or even Outland, then that’s a pretty crap thing to do, abandoning them once again…
I wouldn’t be surprised if Void Elves took the spot of the Broken. The rep you gain is the Broken rep and they were featured in the story with new models, and all of a sudden here’s void elves.
Really needs to be a patch and story where we go back and get the Broken and Mok’nathal both.
Arugal was summoning Worgen from another dimension that turned out to be the Emerald Dream. The first Worgen depicted in game were elves.
It was only once it spread into Gilneas that humans started becoming Worgen.
Prior to any of this, Worgen were non-shapechanging creatures from another dimension with no ties to humans or elves.
The expansion of the story added that the dimension was actually the emerald dream and they were elves.
We have. I linked Alton Redding before. Besides that, we have a Legion quest when Revil Kost says the Nightbane worgen used to be Kaldorei. In addition, we see the Terrowulf Packlord ingame in Ashenvale, as well as Denmother Ulricha in Felwood (who is a Friendly kaldorei worgen NPC).
It’s possible some were explained to be human at the same time the lore was being expanded to add them as a race.
Did he do some experimentation that spread it to some people as well?
Originally they were nonhuman creatures entirely…but they may have been spreading to humans in vanilla, I don’t recall.
The first sources of the worgen curse spreading to Humans was in vanilla. One human NPC in the Original Shadowfang keep was imprisoned, yelling that he’d been bitten, and he later turns and you have to kill him. This is later explored more in The Grizzly Hills.
Another thing to keep in mind is the effects of the dream from being there for a crap ton of time. Couple that with interactions with possible demigods during recruitment and that’s why I don’t mind some additional interesting customization options as long as, like you, you can go without them. So yup.
