Unoffical Playable Sethrak Discussion Thread

Just a reminder to blizzard that we still want this race!

I’ll be putting in another suggestion tonight.

Sethrak for the players! :snake:

The Sethraks were as appreciated by players as the Vulperas.
It would be nice to see this race added to the options hall.

Reptile races are new and fresh, it’s not recycled models. I always thought mechagnomes appearances should of just been added to gnomes, and let Sethrak be the counterparts for Vulpera on Horde.

Saurok for Horde :crocodile:

Sethrak for Alliance :snake:

I’ll admit, I had next to no faith in sethrak becoming playable during BfA, especially on the Alliance because to me, they were written to be extremely Horde-leaning. I also developed a strong distaste for the people in the pro-sethrak community who were/are relentlessly toxic to mechagnome fans, whose only crime was playing a race that the former don’t like. But if Blizzard is filling all these fan requests (allied race customizations, SL intro skip, free Covenant switching, Mage Tower return, etc.), I think the sethrak’s chances of joining a faction might be better than ever.

You don’t add recolored draenei, tauren, dwarves, and orcs as full races, then add new barber options to another race instead of giving them the same treatment as the parent races of the former four. You especially don’t come up with an idea for an allied race, give them their own zone with a mega-dungeon and a prequel comic, and then look at the forums and say “Sorry, gnome fans, not enough people want you to get an allied race, so we’ll delay 8.3 by a month or two to retrofit their options onto the base race and give the Alliance sethrak, albeit with bugged models and a rushed storyline about Nathanos insulting Vorrik enough to make him forget everything the Horde did for the Devoted. Don’t worry, we still like you.”

I’ll take Sethrak slightly rushed than no Sethrak at all.

Though I 100% agree bashing on other races and people who enjoy them is neither productive or right.

I think Mechagnomes could also use some more customization. They really open a big door as far as that goes.

Sethrak are definitely one of the most unique races WoW has come up with in recent and perhaps in totality.

Playable Sethrak please. :snake::pray:

I still got my names saved. Still fine with a locked head/helm slot.

Same! Most of the other allied races were put in with minimal customization and they’re getting more now. I’ll take that! Just to be able to play a unique, cool race. I still have some really good names reserved too, just in case. The hype was real in BFA right along with vulpera. Not many people were asking for mechagnomes but that’s what alliance got. I’m happy for the people who did want mechagnomes, no sense in hating on people for getting something nice even if it’s not what we wanted. But they should have done both IMO.

Sneks please, Blizz. :snake:

naga b4 sethrek

Full on support for this. While playing BFA, I was thinking to myself that Sethrak would be a great playable race.

Agreed, it’s one of those races that just stick with you, they’re on the same tier as the Arakkoa and Naga for me.

i’m gonna say some stuff that when this thread was first put-up, i would’nt have said:

i want’em. i want playable sethrak for either-side. i’ve never been against having the snakes be playable, and honestly, i did’nt really care at first but… over-time, they’ve grown on me. especially with how often they’ve shown up in-game (i mean, we help one join the necrolords for goodness sake!).

personally, i’d like if they went alliance ,but if they were neutral, that’d be good too. horde-only would just… cause problems imo, but hey, as long as they were made playable, i’d be happy. (man, i’d roll a sneaky backstabbing sethrak rogue so fast…).
the reason i want’em on the alliance/neutral is 3-fold:

  1. faction balance. i don’t really care about the faction balance, but i think it’d help a little.
  2. they’re a race of slavers, can’t really see that going down too well with the horde races.
  3. the loa. SOMEONE has to teach the alliance about the loa, why not the sneks?

anyway, that’s about it from me. here’s hopin blizz give us the sethrak! :snake:

Make an in game suggestion for them!

I’m a parrot at this point but this can be done by opening the in game menu-support-submit bug or feedback.

There also used to be a lightbulb on the Battle.net launcher where you could submit feedback from but it’s no longer there and I wonder why.

I genuinely appreciate all the support and love from all of you for the Sethrak.

Snakes mean a great deal to me so I absolutely love your passion.

For those interested in giving in-game feedback, I made a little guide on how to do that earlier in this megathread, which you can see here:

You can of course repeat it for any particular races you want playable, but I figured I would share it again since this megathread is getting some newcomers in it.

There are lots of awesome races that would make for wonderful playable races, with Sethrak being one of them. It’s great to see passion people have for various NPC races, and if Blizzard is taking our feedback, it’s a good time to keep up the support for the races we want playable!

Let’s get some reptiles on that character creation screen! :crocodile: :snake: :turtle:

Stopping in for Sethrak support again!

Only the Sethrik that we fight. The ones we befriend aren’t enslaving anyone.

fair enough i suppose, plus, i just remembered the warsong enslaved other orcs (i think), and we got mag’har now so… i dunno. still want’em to be alliance/neutral though. they need their loa education.

I personally want them to be neutral at best, or Horde (Not Alliance only). It makes sense for them to be Horde since they are allied with the Vulpera and have made friends with the Horde during that questline.

understandable, they did have minimal interaction with’em in the story, i just want’em to learn about the loa… also, for the alliance to get a cool race considering what they… previously got dumped on them. cough diaper-gnomes cough .

I understand that the Alliance need better races, but it just doesn’t make much sense for the Sethrik to be Alliance only.

never said alliance only… though, i can see how it was implied, did’nt mean that, my bad. meant more that if they were neutral, i’d play one on the alliance… cause i mean… i got a lot of horde characters already, would be nice to have some alliance ones to balance it out a little. (also honestly, the only allied races i tend to play on alliance are lightforged, and dark-irons cause the others just feel… generic to me)

I would like Sethrak playable still (ChrisP here) because so many others do and also why not. I just wish, for symmetry’s sake, that there was a race in Stormsong Valley or Drustvar that could join the Alliance at the same time the Sethrak join the Horde. The only real races I can consider are Drust, who are extinct and evil, or like Quilboar or Fungarians or Troggs or some other minor race that would never match Sethrak in power or popularity. Maybe it doesn’t need to be from those zones. Maybe Naga or Vrykul or Ankoan/Jinyu or something would work. Or Saberon or Botani or Furbolgs or Dryads/Keepers or Centaur. Or High Elves proper or Wildhammer Dwarves proper or Tuskarr or Frost Dwarves. Or Harpies. Blah. I’ll shut up.
