Yes

Why,would you want to play such a traitorous race,op?

What part about Blizzard giving Alliance Mechagnomes made you think they care about these thread suggestions :frowning:

Firstly, I love the amount of work youā€™ve put into this. Iā€™ll ALWAYS throw my lot in for Ethereal, theyā€™re the one race I wanted to play as the most ever since they were revealed in BC and Iā€™m still hoping theyā€™ll become playable one day. I love their mannerisms, their appearance and I definitely want to hear more about Kā€™aresh and the other races that resided there. Itā€™s cheesy, but I even have a whole backstory written for a potential character in case they ever do become playable.

I could see them on the Alliance but I think they could work good as a neutral race too, simply because they have so many facets, such as some not caring about using void and some being vehemently opposed to it (I remember some quest text from a Protectorate NPC that was appalled by the concept of ethereals turning to void as one example). Maybe displaced Ethereum or Locus-Walkerā€™s group for the Alliance and maybe whatever remains of the Protectorate for the Horde? It could be a good source of conflict if we ever do go into a void-based expansion with each having different views on how to handle the void after it tore apart Kā€™aresh. The Consortium could remain completely neutral since they just care about that $$$

Mechagnomes are not the problem. People did request them. The problem is:

  1. They are paired with vulpera. We should have gotten gilgoblins instead.
  2. The dropped the ball in terms of design. Mechagnomes easily could have been a very popular race if they came up with a good design for them.
  3. People kept deluding themselves into believing we would get something else besides them leading to a lot of disappointed people who were led on by misleading ideas.

Rather love those mechagnomes.

Traitorous? I think thatā€™s only some of them.

Big yes.

Nothing wrong with requesting a race one wants to see.

Thank you for the bump to the thread though.

You donā€™t think ethereal in Orbos playing trade side underhanded deals? Where would the jailer get a soul catcher from? And how did venā€™ri get one for us to use?

Big no. The game doesnā€™t need another race. It has more important issues - like spec, role, class balance - that dev hours could use, rather than being wasted on another useless race.

This is an RPG, and the teams that work on balancing arenā€™t the art team.

Money going to the art team should be the last place money goes in the game. The art is fine, the game mechanics are lackluster. Having something functional in a game is more important than its aesthetics. Hence wasted man hours. Learn business.

I agree, it needs like 10 more races or so. Thereā€™s a bunch players want.
Balance isnā€™t a reason to stop giving players things. If they wanted it to be balanced, it would be, itā€™s been a complaint for the whole time the game has been around.
They waste time on borrowed power systems that players complain about as well, why not sacrifice those for the hours you think will make a difference?
classes, races, and customizations are important to the longevity.

Iā€™ve never had a problem with the balance of my characters.

Cause you dont play the game.

They gave us 8 new races in BFA. BFA was the worst expansion ever. We donā€™t need any more hours wasted on races.

Thatā€™s funny since Iā€™ve played it for quite a long time.

We donā€™t need any more hours wasted on balance either.

Actually we do because so many hours were wasted on making things look pretty and races that the thing that actually matters in the game fell by the way-side.

They do the same thing in their other games though, they keep tweaking and changing things and often it just makes it more unbalanced. Changing numbers isnā€™t hard and doesnā€™t take much time, but when you throw the pvp aspect on top of that, it creates other issues. Balance has been a complaint the whole time wow has existed. It will continue to be one.

I guess you also donā€™t realize that artists donā€™t program or balance things?
I mean I certainly wouldnā€™t wanting them to do so as thatā€™s just gonna make thing even worse.
