Came across a really cook art piece of an Ethereal Conjurer from Hearthstone.

It looks really cool and makes me wonder how Ethereal heritage armor would look. It really gets me interested in seeing them in different types of armor, as well.

I didn’t know I wanted to be a Ghostie until now.
But I would like if they had one more healer going for them, unless Tinker gets a heal spec lol.

But only if they give them a Persian/Arabic aesthetic.

Tinkerer probably would fit with them.
Its not generally “playable now” so much as playable when they consider the next races they’re going to add.
I don’t view the race request megathreads as “we want -insert race here- playable NOW!” requests. Rather, it’s there for consideration in the future.
New races are likely going to be a feature in future expansions. The whole idea of the race request megathreads are to show popularity for currently NPC races, collect lore information, and share ideas in them becoming actually playable.
I don’t really expect to see 10+ new playable races again in a new expansion like in BfA, much as I’d love to. However, I do feel like with the new race selection screen in the character creation process, that new races are fairly likely as time goes on.
A lot of us just have a lot of passion for certain NPC races and do want to see them playable. It isn’t something we expect immediately, but in my opinion, it helps to show support for them. You never know what will be considered for the future. 
The wait for the new xpack announcement is killing me!
(A teeny, tiny part of me is hoping that when the features get listed off, we’ll see playable Ethereals. (And I would be utterly shocked if they actually announced multiple new Allied Races. I mean, I was surprised when they spontaneously added several new playable races all at once not too long ago.))
I would also settle for more Ethereal-related plotlines and perhaps a reveal that the Brokers and Ethereals are somehow connected. (What if…what if we got both playable Ethereals AND Brokers? Then all my dreams would come true.)
While it is a bit of wishful thinking, in my opinion, I’d love to see a bunch of new playable races based upon the various race request megathreads. It would please a lot of people while showing Blizzard is looking at feedback of all types.
I don’t really expect to see another expansion give 10+ races like BfA did, but I still hope we’ll continue to see new playable races from different race request megathreads in general gradually over time at least. At least that would show Blizzard is considering feedback and requests in the long run.

I’m at the point where I wouldn’t mind if there was a playable option for pretty much anything. Let people make the character they want.
There’s so many that should have already been options by now.
Could easily build out side quests and story to explain various races becoming playable if need be. World building is good.
Ethereals might be the only race that would get me to race change from this Zandalari.
I want a K’aresh sci-fi expansion so bad.
Sameeee! Apparently, there were a lot of different sentient beings there, and between that, eco-domes providing a good excuse for drastic zone variety, the other bits of techno-sorcery allowing for cool new toy/profession/gameplay possibilities, it could be a lot of fun.
Maybe the players’ main quest could end up being very Super Mario Sunshine-y where we gotta un-goop all the Void on K’aresh and restore it to how it used to be. And then we could repair some kind of big device that lets us jump to other planets/places the Ethereals have traveled to.
(It’d also be a neat excuse to have the Brokers come back and interact with the Ethereals.)
I want this concept to be the/a Void/Light expansion so badly…
I imagine K’aresh would end up being divided between the void ethereals and the arcane ones and their various cartels. I doubt we’d eliminate one specific type altogether as the void ones clearly don’t all serve the same lord.
I’d also love to find out that some cartels we don’t know yet use the Light or even Fel to build their beings…

There’s a lot they could do there and like you say there are supposed to be other races and creatures too.
K’aresh would be an amazing expansion. Especially since it would, like Outland and AU Draenor, be another expansion in our reality rather than something like SLs. But still different and supremely new.
Yesss, I would love that! It’d be another expansion with TBC-esque vibes, which I’ve been dying for.
(I loved TBC because it was a fun balance of sci-fi and fantasy. It felt like a really good mix for the franchise, and I still get really nostalgic for TBC even though that’s the expansion where I started the game. Years later, it’s never gotten old for me, and I still love to hang out there whenever I get the time.)
When Void Elves came out, and we saw that Void-y planet off in the distance in Telogrus, I couldn’t help but wonder if that could be K’aresh. It’d be really cool if so because that would be good foreshadowing, if we ever did get to go there some day. I actually thought we’d be going there after Legion and that it was a subtle “next expansion” hint.
Granted, it might just be a random Void-swarmed planet, but it would be neat and fitting.
Unlikely. K’aresh is infused with Arcane and Void. It would probably look totally different than that (what I think is a moon) world infested with the Old Gods.
You ever read over the very elaborate fan concept of the K’aresh expansion called Twofold Light? I remember being pretty impressed. Been a while since I’d read it.

If it isn’t here on the forums I usually don’t go out of my way. Try to stay here for my own sanity.

I’m forever hoping that, one day, the next expansion announcement will be something at least remotely close to this.
Already, I am coping with myself that there is a way for Ethereals to be shoehorned into the current story in Dragonflight via Netherdrakes in a 10.1 or 10.2 patch. I’m hyped for Dragonflight, but also, I need Ethereals at the same time. (Rafaam pls res Galakrond.)
Honestly I think the Nether drakes being involved which they hinted at is awesome.
I grinded that rep three times in TBC.
It would be interesting to see the Ethereals be involved with the Explorers League and Reliquery.
Perhaps they could add Brokers as well.
I do hope one day to see K’aresh. So maybe 11.0?
Yeah, I still enjoy doing the Netherwing and Skettis reputations, too! I kind of liked how you could technically keep grinding them until you hit Exalted if you really wanted to keep at it rather than wait for the dailies to reset.
Ooh, I would love that, too! I’m really hoping for some kind of cool subplot with the EL and Reliquary because we were supposed to get that originally with Uldum, but instead got something entirely different in the end.
I want to believe that we will see K’aresh one day. Though it may not be until 15.0. LOL I can wait as long as I have to!
I really wish they’d still implement something like this for all reps.
Dailies are good and all, wq’s too but there is a lot to be said mindlessly hunting or grinding rep as an option.
Yeah. Adding these groups along with the Explorers League and the Reliquery would be awesome and be a nice chance to decide to link Ethereals and the Brokers as like… Either mirrors of each other or a sect of Ethereals that fled K’aresh during its destruction into the SLs.
Or maybe they’re just the dead Ethereals.
I think it’s best chances are during a Light vs. Void expansion or an Arcane/Order one.
