Unlock MMr for the final month of the season - just as a test

what is the worst that could happen… The 10 people still playing get all 40 of their alts to glad?

what lock?

Hi there. MMR isn’t locked now. Hopefully you found this helpful. :dracthyr_love_animated:

Mmr is not now, nor has it ever been “locked” or “capped”. Mmr is dependent on participation and the relative numbers and rating of people playing.

False. I’ve been hardstuck 1400 since TBC so there definitely has been caps :rage: no cap :unamused:

Shuffle mmr is soft capped to be in line with 3s. This happened after S1 of DF because 3s players were upset no one was playing 3s because presumably shuffle was easier. They buffed 3s mmr and it still didn’t bring players back tho, so I guess they were wrong.

Mmr is super inflated rn. Problem is people are just not playing.

3s has higher rating slightly with far less participation. I don’t care either way but this is clearly true.

Yes, the coefficient for shuffle is adjusted to be more in line with 3s, but there’s still no cap. If the population of shuffle doubled overnight, then so would the rating.

You don’t need to say, “in other words”, they explain why they made the changes:

Inflation was WAY too high in shuffle BECAUSE it’s so popular that all rewards were essentially free participation ones, which “does more harm than good”.

And we see that in how much it has impacted the community.

Yeah I know definition technicality, shuffle has 23000 more rounds played in the last 3 days

Continuing the discussion from PvP Rating Adjustments:

In other words: We messed up with the MMR system to make sure that 3s and solo shuffle have equivalent ratings. That is something you could call a soft cap.

Not sure what systems are implemented right now and what mechanics are active to keep mmr/rating in place, but even with the much lower participation compared to DF S1, the mmr in shuffle makes no sense compared to then.

You can see the difference to a normal MMR environment, when you look onto BBG mmr which haven’t been touched to keep ratings low. And I guess that is what the TO is aiming at. Remove any limitations within the mmr system that are keeping ratings lower compared to previous expansions/seasons!

From further in the post you linked:

There is no hard cap. There is no limitation that says “3k is the maximum rating you can achieve”.

But there are without a doubt limitations within the mmr system in shuffle, to make ratings there more equivalent to 3s rating. That is what he meant with

No, you’re adding the words hard and soft with no basis.

There is no cap.

There is a lack of participation.

I gave you the basis. You can literally see the difference within DF S1 shuffle and DF s2 shuffle when the limitations got active.

But we already had that topic, so I won’t waste my time with such a biased guy, trusting fake news more than real evidence, like a real Donald.

Without battling over the proper term, they clearly are involved with mmr gain between 3s/shuffle. Shuffle in the last 3 days has 4-5x more games played while still at a lower CR than 3s it’s pretty much common sense that they have a coefficient enacted or a cap. Again don’t care about numbers I am currently enjoying playing but common sense

Don’t waste your time. He will come up with some graphics showing cr, not understanding that mmr is something completely different to rating.

I mean, take this nonsense:

So 3k rating in BBG in the 3rd week of the season, compared to 2200 in shuffle, was just the result of different MMR inflations.

This guy is so lost!

They have inflation, which is different in different modes, but there is no cap.

Top of the ladder gonna be 3k as always and people still gonna be like nooo deflation :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

Shuffle has/had better participation all the time. So even if we have that lack in general, shuffle ratings should be higher, than 3s.
