Understanding Raider IO

So I’m gonna be blunt…You’ve been saying this for weeks, if not months.

Nothing is going to change in your favor unless you make a change, both in approach and outlook.

I play Frost for group PvE content, lol. Arcane is my open world/PvP spec.

I mean, what else can I do? I can’t get my friends to run with me and no one’s responding to me on the M+ friends discord.

IO is kinda all about increasing the odds of having a successful run, really. Some people can buy their rank, sure, but that’s not everybody, you still have a greater chance at finding somebody that knows what they are doing with a higher IO than not having anything at all.

Yeah, it’s entirely not fair but I mean, people want to get their stuff done with successfully, not drag themselves through a slog that isn’t fun at all.

Sure, but the below comment you made is relative as well and that it was I was responding to.

It’s not better, it’s complimentary. Or, better in what sense? Availability? Difficulty? Accessibility? I think the one the one thing that’s nice is that it’s guranteed and that’s why it’s so attractive.

But in terms of being actually better from a stat vantage point, the best gear in game is still found in raids.

That’s a larger issue in the game and I completely understand. There really needs to be a better route for gear from PvP. From Wrath to WoD, PvP always had a fairly straightforward route. I’m not sure why they needed to remove that.

As I said earlier in the thread, I think M+ gets a bad rep because of players from other types of content feeling forced to do M+ for gear… which is unfortunate.

For the most part, last season the only time I could really look forward to getting an upgrade on anything was that weekly chest. There really is no other route.

If you dont do mythic raiding, but raid heroic, its comparable. I fyou dont raid heroic, its better, and takes less time to get seeing as There are more sources to get from, in addition to the weekly chest on reset. Raids, you down the bosses, thats it til next week. But there are far more dungeons to run, than there are raids for gear at current.

List your key. Put chill group or something in title.
Invite people and said “hi” when they join.
Promote the tank to leader when group of full “tank (or ideally player name) I made you leader”

Do the key.

Gg thanks all
Leave group.

Thats all you need to do.

I’m just terrified I’m going to invite a group of toxic people that rage, insult, and make the run miserable. It’s always a series of coin flips when blind pugging, and I’m afraid of just getting one tails.

Put completion chill run or whatever in the title and most people that sign up will be fine. You won’t get the powerful gamers that would blast but you don’t need them to 1 chest it.
If people are dbags just leave.
You would be no worse off than never running your key anyway.
There isn’t a difference between not doing a 10 key in your bags and not doing a 9 key in your bags.

I’ve tried that before when re-learning how to tank with my blood DK in Legion. It doesn’t guarantee that it filters out those types.

Yeah I could just leave but I guess I’m also afraid of wasting my time too, because that’d be time spent gained literally nothing.

I dunno…I just wish I had regular friends to run these with so I don’t have to be afraid of that sort of thing.

But compared to your time not doing keys now it’s exactly the same.

Yes running with friends is best but you know where I met most of my friends I do keys with? In pug keys then added them to my friends list.

raid trinkets being lack luster makes m+ gear better than raid gear, so i will agree with that. it was a problem for fury during BoD and this tier (to a lesser extent)

it was a big problem with the tier during BfD so it’s fair criticism imo.

That’s awesome. You’re probably an outstanding player that everyone wants to be friends with.

Whether or not I am is immaterial. My point is that standing in the corner hoping the boy will ask you to dance while he stands in the corner not knowing how to talk to girls hoping one will ask him to dance doesn’t lead to any dancing happening.

You for the most important point OP: Only bad players complain about RaiderIO.

I’m just having trouble mustering the courage to do otherwise. I can’t do this by myself.

I main tank and I still get stressed out

RUN. YOUR. OWN. KEY. Can’t really get anymore blunt than that. You’re making too much pit-party if you want things to change. Then you need to change yourself. Crying in the forums when you’ve obviously not helping yourself won’t do anything for you at all

Well then you are going to have trouble getting what you want. It’s a pretty linear path with 0 surprises and very little required if you.

I absolutely dislike that having to take a nearly 3 week break from the start of the patch means I have hardly any new gear, and no experience since I came back late 8.2. So IO is crippling if I want to pug above a +9.

In reality I just circumvent the entire IO, and just ran a 14 with my guild while only being 452. With no experience past +12. So if you really want to run, stay away from pugs. Same goes for raiding, pugs are typically filled not with the worst players skill wise. But people with severe personality disorders.

Or if some group or someone finds a way to indefinitely bring down the IO site, I would cry nor car one bit. I’d probably pay to see it happen.
