Where did anyone claim that it is infallible? We know it’s not perfect. We know it has faults. We know a low score doesn’t mean someone’s a bad player.
All it is - all it has ever been - is a metric of experience. That’s it.

Apparently some people dont know that though.
No one here has once said it’s accurate. People still say it’s still a guess work when you pug. But atleast you narrow down the margin.
Like what. We are stating fact that you guys are just whining about it since you can’t get into group you think you belong but havent done the work to prove yourself.
So you’re going for insult now? Yup mature very mature. Then I again what do we expect from whiners
Guess you arent reading everything either hm?
I love raider io. Wish blizz had in game scoring system for M+ just like how they do for arena.
I feel I know my class and spec. I feel I know the boss mechanics and what they do. I feel if I were to get into a mythic world first guild, I would probably not be the one causing issues. But then again thats a matter of opinion. You’d disagree with me, because thats what you do, without knowing how I play, whether I can avoid mechanics properly and without actually knowing what I as a player am capable of.
Ill wait for my ginvite from Limit now. Warcraftlogs be damned cos thats not a perfect system and it has fallacies.
You asked, I answered now you want to be a jerk. We are done here. Have fun being a jerk in life.
How am I being a jerk. Im just applying the same logic you are using to my scenario? Do you not agree with my (your) logic?
Other than the fact that a dungeon, and a mythic raid are two entirely separate animals, AND I in no way said I was expecting people to invite me as you made it sound. Those are two pretty bnig indications. We are done now, have fun being that way and wonder why people respond to you the way they do.
It’s a video game. Stop being so dramatic.
Do some M+, or don’t. Life will go on if you decide you don’t wanna play wow anymore cuz you don’t find it fun.
Your complaining in this thread amounts to this:
wants the best gear in the game for world pvp (lol, but whatever)
doesnt want to do M+, arena, or mythic raids to earn said best gear
Like what is your complaint even? It sounds like you just want the old pvp gearing system back so you can very slowly grind your conquest cap in ashran?
This is actually a valid complaint, and I would agree with you, but its hidden behind so much woe is me irrellevant whining about raider io it is difficult to even discern what you are upset about.
People check sites like wowthugger and check-pvp for arena/RBG partners too, outside of yolo groups at like 1500 rating, so pretty much the entire game that involves grouping.
Asking for help and admitting that I have trouble with these things, especially blind pugging in a very hostile community (as proven in this very thread) isn’t “being dramatic”.
What possible help do you expect from the general discussion forums.
Someone actually even offered to do a key with you and your response was
“Ho hum if I feel like logging in”
I’m just genuinely feeling too depressed to even log in.
Then don’t.
Play another game that makes you happy.
This has become a game where only people who can perform perfectly have a place here, and any mistakes must be punished harshly. I’m probably not getting invites to M+ anymore because of the time I tripped on a rock in Motherlode and pulled an extra pack.
But then again this is just a reflection of real life as well. Getting no invites to M+, getting fired for a job, all over singular mistakes and imperfections…there’s hardly any difference.
It makes me wonder if there is a place for losers like me and whether I should just end it all and get it over with.
If your that depressed then get some help.If you want to mythic + then start at the bottom and work your way up.
No it hasn’t. Heroic dungeons, even m0s and 2s through 5s and 6s are extremely casual.
Lol what?
Seriously get some help. If getting denied from M+ groups puts you in this bad of a place then I would definitely recommend finding a new healthier hobby.
The problem I have with people’s opposition to Raiderio is that almost everyone that does completely ignores the fact that YOU. DON’T. HAVE. THE. RIGHT. TO. JOIN. SOMEONE. ELSE’S. GROUP.
It’s that simple. Just because you can see someone else’s group in the Group Finder tool, doesn’t mean you are entitled to join it. It’s not your group. It’s someone else’s group. And that group leader absolutely has the right to create whatever group they want. Just like YOU DO!
For example, let’s say you create your own group (yeah, I know, what a concept) and you place in the description “Chill run, no elite ragers”. That’s YOUR right. If someone joins and they start raging at the first wipe. YOU have every right to kick them. You see it goes both ways.
Also, as much as I support raiderio, what I support even more is people making an effort to join a guild that is in line with the type of content you want to do. Seriously, running mythic+ with guild mates is the best way to run mythic+, yet so many people are too lazy to seek out a guild they can do that with. They rely to heavily on the “I’m like to play solo only”. Like it’s an MMO, that’s cool that you want to play solo, but then group content should be harder for you.
I don’t mean for this to sound derogatory… but you highlight the issue so well. So little understanding of what’s going on and you’re willing to take your limited, anecdotal opinion and profess it as reality.
None? Do you seriously think that guilds aren’t checking logs when people app? This a joke? RIO LITERALLY did nothing more than make the information that is ALREADY available on the leader board and make it more easily accessible. That’s it.
You realize before RIO existed, it was wowprogress. Before that… people were just inspecting players. Taking RIO out of the equation changes nothing.
But again, ALLLLL of your issues are because YOU refuse to make groups that reflect YOUR values. If you don’t like RIO, that’s fine. There are other players like you and you can find each other. You really don’t have to play by some standard. If you don’t like the addon, build a community, a guild… find friends that share that same opinion.
That’s it. You are over complicating this.
Manipulated? In what sense? A negative one? It’s doing noting beyond outputting a number that is associated with your progress. A lot of us ignore the number though. The value of the tool is in it’s ability to quickly show historical information in respect to specific dungeons.
Wrong. The api provides more than that.
Yes it is.
Ah, yes, blame me for not responding to questions. Got it.
How am I denying anyone’s perspective? I have been flat out agreeing with quite a few people who don’t like it. I understand their perspective.
I’m assuming nothing. Your comment history is evidence enough.
This says enough about you. Since you’re the one dismissing the effort it takes to build groups… guess I’ll just dismiss everything else you say as you sport your blues and rant about issues that really don’t even matter to you.
You are the toxic person here. Giving people a fair chance? This makes 0 sense. Everyone is getting a fair chance.
I mean, it’s so laughable what you are trying to argue. What, should gear score not exist? Maybe armory as well? Maybe make it so we can’t even inspect players. Is that what you want?
See, the issue here is you DON’T do the content and you have NO understanding of what it takes to be successful at it. No idea. You just don’t get it. You can say you do, but you can’t, because you haven’t done it. I don’t need to assume anything.
And a toxic cesspool? Really? Making the game competitive is a cesspool to you? Was introducing legendaries toxic to you? How about normal vs heroic? Was that toxic? Is it toxic to have mythic raids or arena? You see, you don’t even understand the game you’re playing. This cesspool you’re referring to has ALWAYS been here. There have always been competitive players who wanted to get the most out of the game. To be the best.
Again, illustrating the issue. So what? Who cares? I care man. I don’t like losing my key. It takes a lot of time to push a key up to +14 or higher if you get a bad group or a bad affix. Putting groups together takes time. Hours can be spent only for a group to fall apart. What’s insane here is tools like RIO actually make M+ MORE accessible. It makes it easier to make groups. It’s quicker. Instead of sitting in LFG for hours as people inspect everyone, people can quickly make groups with the information it provides.
I host lots of groups. I pug all the time. These are tools that make it possible.
In the past, when I making raid groups in wrath… it could take 2-3 hours to make a group for a 25 man. I would often hop on early in the day to start advertising for it. In the end, my groups were very successful, but it took a great deal of time.
Why do players like you want to go back to that?
No. I don’t. I’m not here to help people build confidence. No one should have to have that responsibility. I’m glad to help people at times, but the idea that anyone should be tasked with that is ridiculous.
This is an MMO. You have to have an underlying level of confidence for everything you do in a group. If you aren’t willing to put yourself out there, that’s on you. And, that’s fine. At some point though, you have to find other people like yourself and make it happen.
You’re not sorry. You don’t understand what’s going on and dismissive of people trying to explain it. RIO isn’t ruining the game.
If you want to be mad, frustrated… w/e, direct that at blizzard. This is the game they have made and people like me enjoy the changes.
That’s the crux of the issue. If players don’t like it, they don’t have to do it. They can find a better way to do it.
Join a guild or makes some friends or just… go in LFG and make a group and be honest about what you want.
“LFM for m+ keys. Not looking at RIO. Lets have fun.”
It’s that simple.
I just don’t understand why you are hung up on the statistical anomaly. I’m doing lots of keys and have never found this to be an issue. As noted many times, you can easily look at a players history. If it’s inconsistent, then don’t invite them.
I mean… you could just succeed that some of us have lots of experience here with 1,000’s of keys done and… just maybe, you don’t need to be so arrogant to ignore our input.
Even if blizz created a similar tool, I’d likely continue to use RIO. It’s super accessible and it’s an easy way to quickly look up a players history.
Sorry, but that’s your perception. There are lots of casual groups that push content and aren’t harping on numbers. The vast majority of people in this game don’t participate in this content.
There is a lot to enjoy outside of the competitive stuff. I used to really enjoy just farming mounts, transmogs, making gold, etc. Titanforging and corruption made that difficult. I miss that. Lots of people I used to know I just met doing random stuff in the game.
When I was 1200 in arena, I made friends with a mage who was also in the same range. We ended up playing together for years and eventually hit 2400 together. It was great. It took a long time, but it started out at the bottom.
Dunno, but you need to ask yourself what you want. If you really don’t feel like you can do well at this, do something else and try and until you can.
I mean, I wanted to be glad for ages and got very close a few seasons. In the end though I just didn’t invest enough to get there. And you know what… that’s fine. I still enjoyed everything that took me to get there.
This game is so relative to. I have had people tell me I’m amazing and good and bla bla bla. Then the next night I get called trash. I can’t help but laugh at it.
