Undergeared characters lose a lot in any bracket

Thanks for the salt

Anyone saying there isn’t a big difference between levelers and twinks if full of crap.

This character has about 40 more agility than my level 57 hunter in fully enchanted heirlooms and deals over 130 more damage than him with aimed shot. This hunter is 5 ilvls lower than the 57 hunter as well. I could bring up the damage by using a few different pieces too, but I’d lose some secondary stats and incendiary ammo.

Comparing to levelers who have not met the minimum gear standard (lvl41+?) for the bracket, you would be correct.
If we took 90% of your items and compare them to a base model lvl41 BFA BOE there is a minimal stat difference.
Interestingly enough BFA has created lvl40, lvl43 required scaled versions of many Best In Slot items.
These items seem quite common, instant ease of use for the average adventurer.

ilvl is barely even an issue though. It’s not the ilvls that are causing the imbalance. Blizzard’s “scaling magic” or whatever bullcrap they call it make ilvls a lot less of an issue.

It’s the ability to stack enchants, optimize better, and attain items that are imbalanced like sul’thraze and ramstein’s trinket.

To reinterate, my 49 twink hunter deals about 15-20% more damage than my hunter with 5 higher ilvl and 8 more actual levels.

Good news! Blizzard is taking steps to balance Sul’Thaze next patch. I’m sure Ramstein will be looked into, as well as a few other things.

This leads me to believe Blizzard is in favor of balancing the lower levels with both xpon and xpoff in the same queue. No queue separations in the works

I totally agree with you.
Those two items are the icons of havoc throughout BFA battlegrounds, Sul’thraze is getting a long overdue fix for 8.1 which was nice to see.
At least the sword finally had it’s moment of glory, after all these years of being the 2.60 speed 2h epic that was never loved.

Twinking is more like how the game should be played. There’s a few OP items that tip the scale but for the most part, if you wanna be good in an RPG you need to work on your gear. Catering to the unwashed leveling masses is antithetical to the core feature of an RPG. So is power leveling when it means you skip upgrades and stay weak until max level.

If I see a toon with low HP in a BG then they are a prime target and I’m-a kill ‘em.

For the record, I don’t twink (stop XP, acquire OP items) but I do put enhants on my heirlooms and give myself a fighting chance, and it’s enough to compete with all but the gods of any given bracket, which aren’t that numerous that they spoil every game.

Balance?

Are you on drugs at 120 ilvl scaling. All you need is your Azerite gear 340ilvl and anything else above 300. No real progression. So, jump on my alt made a twink 110. Guess what??? It works like it used to your gear matters at 110.
Gear is almost worthless. Stay on the treadmill

Guess what just be a disc priest/fury warrior top specs in arena.

Ilvl scaling is an issue.

If you don’t understand it like talking to a wall.

If ilvl doesn’t matter why get anything??? Hey smart guy
do you go to work for free?
Do you not want raises of course not let’s just all get paid the same. f the person that does more or learned more.
Same concept.

You still don’t get it??? Why???

I agree! Twinking in random bgs is stupid. It’s literally Blizzard sponsoring bullying. The sad thing is. These are the same people that bully other kids or have children that bully in rl.

You learn a lot about people when they can hide behind a computer. It’s not how we treat people when have to be a good person. It’s how we treat people when we don’t have to be a good person.

I don’t believe ‘literally’ nor ‘sponsoring’ mean what you apparently think they do
Also seems you have probably never experienced real bullying or else you would not make light of it with such an off handed comparison.

Bingo.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the point of twinking is to roflstomp undergeared players, and anyone who says otherwise is lying.

You are undergeared, is this your excuse for losing at 120?
Traits?, Premades? whats next?

saying it doesnt make it true. its not your place to say why i or anyone else does things

i could say that people who complain non stop about this have personal problems that go deeper than gaming, but i wont do that

Yeah, you’ll just imply it instead!

oh no, im not implying anything.

So? Gaining advantage has been the primary or secondary goal of generations of RPGs. I have never understood the disdain towards those who want to outgear and roflstomp new or undergeared players. Twinking is great. Twinking in battlegrounds is one of the last bastions of unregulated and organic gameplay other than fetish RP in goldshire

While what you say may be true, I think what he was getting at is to do so is pathetic and shows a lack of competitive spirit. If you are fine with that (as it seems you are) then no problem.

But let’s not pretend it is anything than what it is.

im really curious what people’s idea of RPG is. iirc FF7 didn’t have gear beyond weapons maybe, PE had armor vests and weapons. customizing your loadout for an advantage was part of armored core and that isn’t even an RPG. when did RPG become synonymous with getting ever more powerful gear? we used to just call those games adventure games, “RPG” was what DnD nerds and LARPers did.
