We’ve been getting a lot of contact on this so I thought I’d drop a line here so that those experiencing the issue, assuming they make their way to this forum, can see it.
We are currently looking into an issue that seems to be preventing some users from selecting a character to post from.
It is an issue that happened last week, so the team can hopefully track it down quickly but we do not currently have an ETA on when the issue will be resolved.

Hey all,
We’ve received word back that some fixes went in and services restarted so the issue should hopefully be cleared up. They believe that there are still some outstanding issues that they are still working on, but for now, folks should be able to post again.
With that said, it is still considered to be in retest, so please do so. Obviously, if you are currently unable to post you cannot post an update, but the issue comes and goes, so definitely check back.
We are asking for everyone who may experience this to do some standard troubleshooting.
- Log out and in a few times.
- Try using a private browser/incognito mode
- Clear your browser’s cookies/cache
- Check your parental controls settings to make sure you have posting enabled.
- Make sure you are in the correct region. US/North American WoW licenses can only post on these forums, European WoW licenses can only post in EU.

Was this tied to the too many redirects bug that was going on? Both seemed to get fixed at the same time.
Issue appears to be fixed, I’m seeing my characters now!

Update on this for you, I can selected my retail character but it’s profile picture is hidden. Therefore, people can’t see me cool helm in my profile picture.
It seems this issue comes and goes. I have a lot of new reports today. I’ve passed on the information again, hopefully they can figure out what keeps causing this.

Appears that way. Earlier today I had gotten logged out of the Forums and when I logged back in all of my characters had vanished. Finally appears to have resolved tonight.
When I was unable to access my characters due to being unavailable, I got a new profile created automatically that used my BattleTag. However, I Couldn’t post on it as the Forums said I needed a Level 10+ character to post.

Log-out and log-in fixed the issue for now.
Will open another ticket is the issue reoccurs for me.
There really isn’t anything that the Support department can do. It is an issue that is looked at by our engineers, etc…

This issue has been happening about once per week for me in the last couple of weeks.
I have tried various suggestions, like logging in and out of the forum, logging in and out of the WoW / specific characters, logging in and out of Battle.Net, clearing my browser’s cache (which I do every day using CCleaner before I shut down for the night) but nothing has worked.
The issue just seems to resolve itself after about a day or so.
The only commonality I have been able to find is that it seems to happen whenever I post to the forums very late in the middle of the night, usually after 4 AM EDT; the next morning (after 10 AM EDT), I log in to the forums to find I have no sub or characters (but only on the forums; WoW sub is active and all my characters are available).
I might try it as an experiment and let y’all know, but not for the next little while…

Currently I am unable to select a character on my newly bought phone. Everything works fine on the old one and on my pc.

To add another oddity to this situation. Not only did the above mentioned disappearing characters happen but when I logged in it said I was suspended until 2021. I was like… dang I made Doctor Who mad this time.

The Forum Engineers really need to fix the problems soon. It is becoming quite annoying because it is like getting a forum ban every few days.
I lost access to post on any character again. Then about an hour ago I am now able to post on 3 classic characters I have not played in years.

After not being able to select a character to post on forums, my account now says
“Your account is unable to post or reply until Nov 29, 2022 5:46 pm.”

Then u need to post in the website bug forum feedback doesn’t get passed along.
I’m posting here because I was given this link in a reply to one of ongoing support tickets about the problem.
Been having this issue for a few days now. This is the first time I’ve been able to post anything in days. Tonight I had to log out, refresh, log in, log out, refresh and log back in again which seemed to work.
I did go into my account settings last night and found that the parental controls had been turned on and my ability to post on the forums was turned off. Which was really odd because I’m the only person that uses this account and I’m almost 50.
