I’m already a raid log enjoyer
That’s irrelevant. They do the same thing. Against a star explosion, DSac might as well say “gain 5k health for 6s”
Just because it’s a cooldown doesn’t make it significantly better.
You’re reducing it to this one to one comparison of commanding vs DSac because that’s the only way warriors look remotely favorable vs paladins when comparing utility.
But this whole conversation is irrelevant to the thread.
People that want nerfs need to git gud and quit the dad guild. This content isn’t hard. I wasn’t able to full clear SWP because I came back late, but I wasn’t crying. People want the best gear and to clear all content without putting in the work or effort. Making the content braindead easy would cause a ton to quit the game and gives no incentive other than loot. I got Herald of the Titans and I was proud to be able to get it. These fights are optional so it’s not like SWP where you have to do them to progress.
It’s not, because that’s the only relevant utility rets bring that isn’t covered by the holy or prot paladin you are definitely bringing.
Everything else rets bring are also covered elsewhere, by specs that deal more DPS than ret…
That’s why they got buffed. The utility argument looked good on paper, in practice it fell flat.
Utility isn’t a good enough reason to keep ret 10% under the second worst PvE damage spec. It never will be.
Warriors aren’t there, and they have utility that makes at least one highly valuable. There’s no problem.
That utility can be brought by a prot warrior. Fury does bring 5% crit, but feral brings that and bleed debuff.
Sure, but replenishment stacks and more hands of sac/salv and BoP are good too. You only need one warrior of any spec, while ret is going to bring some useful things to the raid even if there are already several paladins.
I agree though, fury doesn’t need to be buffed. Their damage is fine.
Yeah, I’m not arguing that rets don’t bring utility, we definitely do.
I just think people WAY overstate how strong it is when trying to claim that ret should have stayed 10% under Fury in DPS to have it.
I think ret is in a good spot now.
I will use yogg as an example.
A ret paladin can BoP a constricted player and instantly free the player and kill the constrictor instantly.
That’s a 100k hp mob (25 man) instabtly dead and the constricted player freed.
I would say thats one very useful utility ability. Yes it isnt exclusive to ret (other paladins have it), but the fight can see multiple constrictors.
Thats one example.
Yep, there are a lot of examples. None of them justified ret being 10% below any other PvE damage spec in damage.
Utility isn’t that valuable, especially when it can be brought from other locations.
And here it is. Effort , work, time, blah blah. Some weird idea for an old game. No 1 is stopping you from getting your AoTC or any great ach, All I am saying let people be able down bosses before the next patch so its easily accessed and killed. Nerfing Mim 1 month from now should not bother some one like you who has the all the gear you can have and get in the next 4 weeks.
If you fear is that once gear is available people will clear ToTGC , you are definitely wrong. These are the same people who will struggle.
4 months is long enough time for a 10year old game for Xtreme Gamers with Great skill like you to get the content in farm status. Let us PEASANTs also have some FUN. It doesnt stop your fun.
The thing is I’m not a hardcore sweaty parser either. I play inebriated and stoned most of the time😭. My gear is only 4.6k. I agree, I won’t have a problem with them nerfing it when ToC comes out or right before, but please don’t need it any earlier. I’m mostly against the gatekeeping, I take people with 3800 in H+ and will take low 4K+ into Ulduar. So many people I see with high GS and they are absolute dog or groups who won’t even respond to you if you aren’t atleast 4.8k GS.
Yes and playing a mage in raid is a completely trivial joke, and isn’t a sign or indicator of anything. If you bothered to PvP at a high rating, you would actually be a good player, but that’s all very hypothetical. (For you)
Do DK’s take more “skill” than a Mage? Almost every class is easy af it’s stupid to compare. PvP wise Mage prob has the highest ceiling or one of the highest.
Ok uhh what about the other kind of peasant like me who doesn’t step up to the challenge quickly but still wants to overcome the same challenge at our own pace. Hi! People like me exist. (I guess my brand would be casual/midcore gamer who likes hard content)
at some point they will release content that will make this less challenging. So you are in a pickle. I wish there was a scheme like Chromie sitting in front of UC that would allow you to go to point of time with gear from that time for the challenge, but dont think its there for now.
I mean all classes are easy in pve rotations literally just become muscle memory.
Pvp is a meme in this game, I’m positive I have been higher rating than you tho.
He just had a bone to pick with me and I just happened to play a mage.
It wouldn’t of matter what I played he would of said they are easy.
Kind of stupid since literally all classes in pve are easy to play.
I’m positive you haven’t, given that retail has an armory. I actually have higher parses than you and that is your turf, your territory, your pride and joy. You sit on these forums literally all day long and passive aggressively flaunt around how impressive it is that you are in guild that has killed algalon 25 (4 weeks in LMAO). You are not good and never were.
The whole point of the ilvl buffs, and of not immediately nerfing Ulduar (which they very well could do when trial comes out) is to make it remain relevant as content in T9. This decision was made out of recognition that ToGC would completely replace the gearing progression of ulduar in a much easier but also funnily enough much more boring raid. Ulduar should stay as it is and allow the gearing itself to softly nerf the content. Trust me, when you slowly progress through all the ten man HMs and get 245 gear, and eventually through some of the easier 25m content and get 252 weapons. Suddenly those insurmountable HMs won’t be so impossible because you’ll be geared. This is the best form of balancing we’ve ever had in classic and you want blizzard to just turn ulduar into a naxx-like farm raid? While the patch is still current no less?
When trial comes out you’ll have even more options to gear so you can smash Algalon or Yog0. Your statement that nobody will be doing ulduar when trial releases is without a doubt one of the worst takes ever. Nobody does naxx now for good reason, the gear is awful and the fights are worse. Those problems won’t persist in Ulduar because the gear stays relevant and the fights are incredible. And you know what? They’re going to stay even more engaging for the people who didn’t curbstomp them because it’s still progression for those players.
Everything you’ve contributed in this thread is just you complaining that the game doesn’t cater to the way you’d most personal enjoy it, cool, you want things to be nerfed so they can be completed by everyone. But there is content that the majority of players can clear, normal modes. And there are entirely optional hardmodes that all players can progress into at their own pace.
Not sure what needs to be nerfed… normal modes are on par with Naxx 25 for difficulty and the gear is a solid nerf to the content.
I hope people don’t think optional content like hard modes should be nerfed… wtf will you do for the next 6 months if they dared to nerf that raid lol.
