Ulduar nerfs would be welcome with ToC

Uhhh, yes you can. It’s pretty easy to deduce that if a group hasn’t killed things with 15 weeks worth of time to attempt it that they either can’t, or have flatly given up trying to.

Both options don’t speak well of Ulduar’s tuning.

Needing the next tier’s gear so you can backtrack for worse gear for more effort than the following tier is ALSO a bad look.

Making tier 2 of 4 the hardest of the tiers and leaving it there is just all kinds of awkward, no matter what they did to the item level of the gear in there.

Or maybe they simply don’t want to do that content? Not everyone cares about incessantly chasing minor upgrades. This just further shows me you have zero idea who the average player is and are just projecting your own views onto a “silent majority”. That’s not how this works.

Yes, I’m sure that’s a reasonable assertion about the actively raiding population.

You’ve got some pretty weak “what ifs” there.

The numbers of how many people are clearing what is readily available.

And why are they “weak”? Is it because they dispel your narrative and you dislike them?

How do you tell the difference between someone who can’t vs. someone who doesn’t want to?

Well for starters you can look at how many people are attempting hard modes

Alright, and how many people are attempting hard modes?

I don’t really care enough to find out the ratio of people attempting hardmodes but unable to kill clear them all.

Why did you respond then?

I think I can translate here. What you meant to say is that you have no idea what the average player is capable of and you have no idea how to figure that out.

I knew this the entire time, but I’m glad I could help you see it as well. Thanks for playing.

Yeah, it’s a pain to pull those numbers up. noticeably less than half are clearing Algalon though, and it’s pretty silly for them to assert that people just don’t want the better and extra gear drops if they are reasonably capable of killing the bosses on hard mode.

If you are still raiding Ulduar 15 weeks in, you probably want the gear.

Hard disagree with those who say ilvl 252 is an ‘Ulduar Nerf’

The fights are all way harder than they should be. They buffed the raid to keep it relevant but it feels a little too relevant for old content.

It just takes too long to run the raid. For a group that gets hit by roster boss tries to rebuild and teach others the HM mechanics, it’s too much. And unfun. Ulduar is annoying and too long and most people I know don’t have fun in it anymore.

You have 3 groups of players. Ulduar is on farm, Ulduar is too hard and given up, and Ulduar progression is still going. Everyone benefits from a nerf except for the people who haven’t gotten it yet and are still trying. What do we wait for ICC??

A nerf would make it fun again.

Same. A nerf that is only a nerf for people who have done it is not a nerf at all. On top of that, item levels were only buffed because the encounters were also buffed, so it’s neutral really.

Exactly. The fights are overtuned. I get that it is a good challenge for the more hardcore players, and they want to keep raid relevant for that player base. But also keep it relevant into phase 3? Eh, no thanks. Spending more months of continuations in Ulduar does not sound appealing.

Algalon is very easy though? What roster swaps do you need this isnt tbc

Bro most of the fights are trivial now with hm gear and will only get easier once people bring in ilvl250 gear from an even easier raid

Half of guilds aren’t even doing HMs because it’s not trivial

The logs show nearly a 50% clear rate for Algalon, which requires people to clear at least 5 hard modes.

I said half you said 50% thanks for clearing that up.

Also not all guilds log, more likely that all the Alg kills are logged and plenty of non HM guilds dont

Half of guilds aren’t doing hardmodes=/=half of guilds aren’t doing algalon

Everyone who remotely cares logs. Even crappy pugs do.

Drop people that aren’t capable of meeting the DPS checks, or were too prone to standing in things that got themselves killed and either immediately wiped the raid, or made us fail the DPS check.

The individual skill level required in Ulduar right now is pretty high relative to what it has been in the past. It wasn’t group composition issues, just player skill.

Average players aren’t good enough. (Although the keepers are a larger skill block on player awareness than Algalon himself because you can keep all of the important roles to a few people on him)
