Ulduar nerfs would be welcome with ToC

Eh, I just view that as unnecessarily gatekeeping the content. The skill requirement jump between normal and hard is kind of absurd in Ulduar, so there’s nothing to train those weaker players to get progressively better.

It’s a badly designed raid from a game design perspective.

Im not trying to argue with you and I understand your point but well just just have to agree to disagree. And tbh maybe being in a guild that clears may differ my view some ill admit, but none of doesnt seem to matter that joining a better guild wouldnt fix.

Aye, reasonable difficulty is definitely a subjective point.

I personally think that people should largely be able to enjoy the social experience of the game, and shouldn’t feel the need to necessarily swap guilds to see content just because their guild/friends are decidedly average.

Now, I don’t think that it should be a free kill for those guilds, but I think that fully gearing in 232 gear should do what the 252 gear currently is doing. My main issue is that those that need the 252 gear to get the kills can’t get it, because it’s given to the people that aren’t challenged by the content.

I’d have rather seen more people clearing Ulduar by now.

That it is true. ToC is a meme raid.

That’s not the reason. ToC is an easy raid and always have been.

Sort of. For people that haven’t done cleared Ulduar yet the 258 helps them a lot to get pass Ulduar. That’s the whole discussion of this thread. You don’t have to nerf it because the gear will come at you.

Did they? Ulduar already lasted longer than the original run.

People will still run Ulduar. People still run Naxx, and Naxx had garbage loot by comparison. A lot of Ulduar HM loot still holds up well into next phase or longer

And a single HM ulduar run is a lot more palatable than spamming H++…

Debatable lol. Even if I could run them back to back I’d take 15 H++ runs over several Ulduars where I just hope the trinket drops…

Looking at the affixes in H++… that’s a hard sell.

Yea I didn’t actually run any on the PTR so we’ll have to see how hard they are.

Yes, that is the reason it will be on farm so early. Im not talking about just the fringe players here, im talking about a good portion of the playerbase. They are going in with close to if not the same ilvl that the normal modes give. Technically they dont even have to release ToC and could release ICC next week.

Why go back? Many guilds wont be. Its already lasted too long for many people and they are done with it. Going back in when you get as good or better gear from ToGC still there is no reason to go back to Ulduar, just like there was no reason to go back into Naxx. When ICC comes out it will all be dead unless they come out with the weekly raids. Not like weekly raids are needed with the inflated emblem gain from H+.

Because they held off on the next raid, the only way for the raid to actually last longer. But they inflated so much this expansion that the last 2 phases will be over fast.

Not really, Ulduar was adjusted to match.

An ulduar nerf would be nice. Mostly for an easier raid to level alts in and catchup. (And i would rather not keep running it just for flare).

We are just prepping for ICC now anyway

No, I prefer to keep it as the default difficulty so players need to learn the proper mechanics and earn their loot

The default difficulty was the nerfed version though.

How do you know what the average player’s experience is?

How do you know?

By playing with a guild that had to replace half of its roster just to get an Algalon kill last week. (And was roadblocked after Thorim / XT / Flame Leviathan before that)

Ah ok, and your guild represents the average player? Why do you think that? Because you’re biased and are projecting your own experiences onto an imagined “average” player majority?

Statistically speaking, the average player hasn’t cleared Ulduar hard modes and is barely capable of a few of them.

After the roster swaps the guild moved into above average territory.

How do you know? You can’t deduce whether or not they are capable just by looking to see if they have done it or not. Moreover, what does this have to do with my original statement?

The reality is you have no idea what the average player experience is. You are making things up which have no basis in RELEVANT statistical fact. I would not be shocked if you fail to convince on this one.

but they already nerfed it with ilvl buffs, and the ilvl from TOC.
