Uhm, why is Cata barely keeping up with SoD raiding numbers?

You have absolutely zero evidence to support that claim. All you have is your beloved reddit threads and that is useless data. It’s solely anecdotal evidence, the sample size is too small, and it’s a self selected group not a representative sample.

Yep. Naxx amd rag will always be there.

Blizzard gets paid at the end so it’s all good for them.

The sub is for 3 games. Era, cata, retail. Hell all 3 got the same leader. Holly has her numbers. shareholders probably don’t ask:

How many ran sod naxx SoD versus cata raids. We need to know this. We lose sleep over it.

shhhh being asked for evidence scares him.

There is no evidence of that so far. Ironforge counts raiders so it’s not accurate and raids have not been out long enough for even that inaccurate count to be out. We still don’t even have a bad guess as to how many are playing Cata

You have no data to support that claim. There has never been a quality poll of vanilla fans.

There is zero evidence to support the claim that Cata has more retail players. You just pulled that out of your azz.

Players that play both retail and classic do matter financially to blizzard especially if they spend more hours playing classic. They can also keep subs active during retail down times.

The honeymoon period historically had been early after launch.

Congratulations, you as an individual certainly represent the aggregate of players /s

Cataclysms numbers are poor compared to all previous classics. Cope. It isn’t going to change. Come back here and rub it in my face if it does, but that’s not going to happen.

I’m using data that doesn’t line up with your feelings. Come back in 1-2-3 weeks, tell me if the number come close to vanilla.

I find it super funny that you don’t realize you are actually giving further support to my point. Classic exclusive players are profit for the classic project. Retail players provide 0 profit to cataclysm because of classic didn’t exist, they’d be paying that exact same sub.

You realize blizzard made classic because nostalrious proved there is a big contingent who enjoy the old school mmo genre WoW was, and hate retail fundamentally, right?

The numbers for cataclysm compare to every other classic iteration don’t like. I’m sorry those numbers hurt your feelings. Listen kid, some people enjoy different styles and genres of video games than you, people are different with different preferences and that’s ok, you’ll learn this when you grow up.

This. If no classic, to cata even as I do have a good time here, I’d not be a sub.

I fell off hard in sl to go 90% classic. i played df 1 month. No classic no sub really.

If tww crashes and burns…I’d be here till legion if we got it. I didn’t even preorder. I will wait for internet spoilers lol.

I’d not need to repeat the trilogy of terror of bfa, sl, df lol. Legion in time, blizzard has my money. Or wod. I grew to like the place.

I have no problem with people playing games I don’t play. I don’t even have a problem with people playing retail. You’re the one constantly calling them retail andies. I don’t even care if cata numbers are less than previous numbers. But there is no evidence that those who wanted classic didn’t want Cata. You claiming that people like different games isn’t evidence that those who wanted classic didn’t want cata. So do you have any evidence to support your claim?

“this arbitrary time I have picked is the only answer” Sure thing bud.

I’d believe you if the sources you were using were at all accurate to go off of. They aren’t.

Nah, I’m not gonna emulate you or other bad actors.

You aren’t even using the incorrect data properly so this means nothing since your feelings dominate every post you make.

Same sub. You have no idea where the money goes or is split. Retailers pay the same sub you do for access to the same games. Classic subs aren’t special and separate from retail ones, we all pay for a “World of Warcraft” subscription. You don’t even know what you’re flailing about anymore.

Come back with some real, tangible information and properly interpret it. So far you are on a loosing streak. Since I’m not gonna hold my breath, welcome to ignore I guess.

Be better and be well.

600k+ active loggers when woltk raids first dropped

200k+ active loggers when Cata raids first drop

Cope all you like and try find excuses as to where those 400k people went but the fact is, people don’t like Cata.

That’s great! More than enough players to have fun playing the game and enough that blizzard will release MoP.

lmao without a doubt you are an actual troll. I think you could probably get more mileage bait posting on “X” (formerly known as Twitter), since you don’t seem concerned about having an actual life.

lmao so you’re mentally 12 years old then. got it.

Aww, thats cute. Its upset.

I expect it to rise and stagnate over the next 4-6 weeks and then drop again.

I dont think cata will be as popular because its a lot harder for classic players.

sod phase 1 numbers (496k) were heavily skewed (inflated) by alts, a lot of people were raiding on 3+ chars some like 6. people should not refer to the 496k number as if they were individual numbers imo

If it means less melee dps dying to brc ogre, That might not be a bad thing.

Something about well if you stand behind him it’s okay,

Boss is bugged, that doesn’t always work. Assume it’s bugged and just walk away.

It’s not mythic timed.

Also, 5 seconds away is shorter than 2 dps not applying dps, and then the healer Rez time.

600k didn’t happen until week 4 (2022-10-26/11-01). Week 1 was 408k logs. I never expected cata to beat those numbers anyway, Naxx being an easy tier meant it had historically high raid numbers. Cata does look pretty close to TBC and vanilla’s raid numbers. TBC had 157k week 1, 253k week 2.

Sure, that would suggest that SoD was quite a bit less popular to begin with though if the true numbers are say, half of that, putting it on par with Cata and half of WotLK. And with a 150% xp bonus and incursions, shouldn’t people be able to level up alts fairly easily?

Prolly because you get a 30 minute AFK penalty for being vote kicked. People can literally grief you out of the game. I’m personally ready to uninstall and never look back.
