Malfurion was keeping all of darkshore from sliding into the ocean connected to the mainland by himself in cata.
thrall lost his connections to the elements. even the doombringer didnt want to be around a depowered thrall anymore. thrall is just an orc with no power now.
malfurion was roasting sylvanas when they were having there duel. she had to bail because she was losing to him 1v1.
lothremar is a very experienced martial leader, but would get eaten by the ground like that orc that time by malurion.
tyrande is a whole other level now. shes literally mastered ultra instinct god powered now. she is the aspect of vengeance and elunes wrath.
Shandris Feathermoon single handedly made an old god empowered chogall flee from her in cata at dire maul ( damn was that a good quest chain ). Tyrande is basically 20x Shandris or more.
considering how badly blizz have been butchering the night elves for basically almost all of WOW, for them to turn tyrande evil would be the biggest kick to the nads. id vastly prefer for blizz to get the night elves hunting for a new location for a new world tree and home for there society and let them rebuild, the worgen are welcome too. and then when sylvanas shows her face, have it be tyrande who deals the death blow. then tyrande can find peace with malfurion and let the younger night elves go into the spotlight. finally give some of the night elves a happy ending in the story. because ever since hyjal its been a big downhill from there so far.
Actually watching an Alliance character go full on Daelin Proudmoore and start some scraps despite the agreed peace? Hell yes, Blizzard should definitely go there. They honestly should have gone there since the start of BfA, at least in a sense. This expac might have made more sense if it started with Alliance attacking UC and Teldrassil a retaliation IMO, but… /shrug
Time or team blue to take some long overdue whacks from that villain bat.
I wouldn’t mind it happening, but if it happens off cameras, i think it would be a riot situation. Their tendency to put key plot points in novels has fortunately ended for the most part.
So…you want the cycle to literally repeat despite all of this nonsense just to put an end to it?
No. Just no for god’s sake. It’s bad enough that the Horde gets villain batted every other expansion. Can we stop asking for stupid crap to happen to the opposing faction?
And here I thought Alliance fans would be excited at the prospect of Horde getting poked for a change and then denied retribution just like the Alliance have been forced to endure.
And don’t kid yourself. Blizzard likes their faction conflict too much to simply abandon it.

Because I’m a human being, and I recognize that people in a different color banner are just other human beings behind their computer? Why on earth would I WANT to have Horde players go through that crap? Which is why I am baffled why Horde players would want the Alliance to go through villain batting. It sucks when Blizzard does it to people. We should be asking Blizzard to make a better story, not repeat the same garbage on people we don’t like.
Sorry if you’re not happy with the concept. Really, I am. But I’ve seen enough finger pointing from Team Blue players over the years gloating from their moral high perch as said bat was administered to Horde characters.
Now I think it’s time they eat their vegetables.
You could still get lucky. Maybe all this can be avoided by Anduin giving a speech about the importance of not throwing lives away needlessly in frivalous vengeance pursuits and that they need to unit against NZoth, etc etc. and Tyrande can be talked out of any aggression.
Given the amount of people who don’t seem happy that Horde is “getting off scott free again”, they wouldn’t be happy if something wasn’t done in response.
Going to deny them their chance to get some payback?
Actually it’s not okay. The deadscar is spreading and there’s no way to reverse the damage. There’s a questline with an arcane botanist trying to do just that, and learning that the scar corrupts even new life that attempts to take root in it.
That’s all irrelevant, though; I think we’re moving into a situation where everything will be localized in two cities, one for Kalimdor and one for the Eee Kay (I almost said Horde and Alliance, but I have a feeling this expansion is their last hurrah).
Being that the Night Warrior is clearly some kind of void power, and being that all void power is being inexplicably tied to N’Zoth, I’d say you don’t want Tyrande to come back (but she will). When she does, she’ll be on the same side as Sylvanas, seeking some kind of worldwide destruction. Why? Because N’Zoth needs all the titanic influences scrubbed off Azeroth so that he can turn the planet into some kind of void horror.
I’d expect she will show up, though, to destroy Thunder Bluff (they’ve made it the target of void attacks repeatedly for a reason). Once Thunder Bluff is destroyed, the Diamond King will balk at Tyrande’s motives and Ironforge will be destroyed as retribution. Then we really will have nothing but Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
If I had to guess, the vast majority of Alliance would be… we’re just not fools. Our promised “fist pump” moment back in MoP never happened. Fool me once, shame on you.
Same thing with Battle of the Undercity, same thing with Dazar’alor. Undercity was supposed to be the Alliance getting even for Teldrissil - it was a joke. Dazar’alor was supposed to be our big victory against the Horde… instead we picked on members of the Horde who joined the Horde yesterday, who had nothing to do with the act that started the war, and killed a King we had no problem with and, frankly, never even heard of. It was the most misdirected thing I’d ever seen… why don’t we just go back to Pandaria and flatten some Hozen villages while we’re at it. “For the Alliance!”
If they announced 8.3 at Blizzcon and talk about Tyrander’s revenge… I’d be a fool to believe they’d get it right. They’ll probably screw it up so badly it’ll come off as an Alliance defeat.
I feel Blizzard has already made the decision to cut ties to BFA. I feel like they’ve been putting all effort and attention into the next expansion for a very long time. BFA feels like the filler expansion that’s released before something colossal is produced.
Yes, I absolutely would. Because that’s the hole Blizzard has dug themselves in. No one can possibly be happy now. And I would rather just bite the bullet now and swallow my pride so we NEVER have to go through this garbage again. What you are suggesting is to just retread BfA with different colors.
No.Thank.You.
I am more than happy to cut my loses if it means never having to deal with this again.
One can never tell for certain. I considered War of Thorns to be the dumbest thing Blizzard has ever released as a pre-expansion event I ended up quitting after the first day of it. However, some peoples on my server really did consider it a “Horde Fistpump Moment”.
I do hope they do right by Tyrande though. Would would constitute them doing it right though?
Ok, but that’s you. There are others who would be upset to see Tyrande denied a chance at getting even. Not saying you’re wrong and they’re right, nor the either way around, it’s just a matter of someone’s going to get disappointed.
Considering the idiocy of Tyrande and Malfurion in Val’sharah in getting my favorite Dragon Aspect corrupted and then murdered? I’ll happily kill both of them myself. And this is coming from someone who has played a Night Elf since TBC.
I can only assume Genn will privately send a missive to Tyrande telling her about an upcoming hugfest between the New Alliance and New Horde, she’ll show up and butcher a bunch of worthless undead and then Anduin will scream at her that she’s sacrificing these noble Hordies to the Black Empire and empowering them. And she’ll be like “good lol sevres em right” and take off, Genn will be scolded, and we’ll get our 2 factions plus 2 half factions to juggle as we stumble into Nyalotha.
