Tyrande scenario updated (spoilers)

Elune has a lot of kids. She truly is a goddess then, just like the Greek gods.

I kinda of want this now.

Wait, Horde players have been the ones making the prediction? I only remember one player in particular predicting Tyrande would die.

Nah not a lot of kids, moreso a lot of “products”, Elune would have, if my speculation proves correct:

  • Mother of Winter Queen, her first born (speculation)
  • Mother of Cenarius Lord of the Forest (canon)
  • Sister of the Other First Ones (speculation)
  • Sister-Wife and Pseudo Grandma of Ysera (inasmuch Ysera is Cenarius’s stepmom but shaped by Eonar) (canon)
  • Ex(?)BabyMomma of Malorne (canon)
  • Grandmother of the Grovekeepers/Dryads, greatgrandma of the Centaur, grandma-in-law of Princess Theradras of Deepholm, and thus… Therazane’s… reverse cousin? (canon)
  • Creator of Moonkin in reality (canon)
  • Forger of Naaru (speculation, but heavily implied via how Tear of Elune given to the Elves by Eonar rez’s Xera’s heart)
  • Possible shaper of Eonar’s world soul (speculation, same as above, also Eonar’s planet being called Elunaria)
  • Distant Maternal Figure to Tyrande (canon)

So now I’m curious. If Elune is related to the Winter Queen… we’ve always (through the Night Elves) assumed Elune looked like a Night Elf lady. All the pictures have shown as such too.

Do you think she made the Winter Queen in her image?

I think she makes everyone in her image.

She made Elves from Trolls, who sorta look like her to begin with and who once worshipped Elune

She made Cenarius before any of that, who looks to us as a “half Nelf”

and likewise WQ, who has been around since the dawn of life and death presumably, looks like her too

I just had a frightening thought. What if they’re trying to parallel Tyrande’s descent into madness like Kael, and then Kael will be the one to pull her out of it. I remember very specifically a conversation in WC3, the only time they ever met as far as I know.

Maiev Shadowsong : Kael, where are your high elven brethren? Do they not fight the undead as you do?

Prince Kael’thas: The Scourge devoured our ancient homeland of Quel’Thalas. The once proud bloodline of my people is nearly spent. The few of us that remain now call ourselves blood elves, in homage to our murdered people.

Tyrande Whisperwind : I grieve for your people, Kael. But you must not allow rage and despair to poison your heart. You may lead your people to a brighter future.

Could very well be the same conversation with the roles reversed.

I really, really hope this isn’t the case, though.

Here’s how I predict Tyrande’s “recovery” will go:

  • she’s going to go a bit crazy in the Maw, because that’s what the Maw does, and also because she’s the Night Warrior
  • they’ll save her from the Maw but she’ll be feral in some capacity, she gets sent to Revendreth where Kael’thas, now a Harvester since Prince Renathal is the New Sire, will harvest her excessive wrath and pride and dominion sins from her, and will have this exact same conversation but reversed as you suggest
  • Maybe an Uther and Vashj cameo? Who knows.
  • now recovered, she is too weak from the Night Warrior taxing her soul; at the same time, the Winter Queen and Ardenweald is on the verge of death
  • But wait! The Night Warrior is tied to Ardenweald! It is magic OF Ardenweald! So it could restore Ardenweald!
  • So Tyrande release all of the Night Warrior’s magic into Ardenweald to restore the Winter Queen and the Heart of the Forest
  • This allows the Winter Queen to resurrect all of the unjustly killed Night Elves
  • The Winter Queen decides also to restore Teldrassil, because reasons

And that’s how the Night Fae 9.3 Campaign will end

I’m just worried how Night Elf fans would feel about that.

If I’m right and Winter Queen is Elune’s daughter, I don’t see how they could be mad that Elune’s daughter saves Elune’s High Priestess and also restores life to Literally Everyone and their home too

I’m just hoping for a parallel nuance involving Arthas, Maldraxxus, House of Plagues being restored, Undercity being de-Blighted, Calia, Lilian, Delaryn, Sylvanas, and the Jailer

Mostly my concern is that they’ll still be upset about not getting any revenge and that it became another “you were wrong to be angry” moment.

AH BUT YOU FORGET MY GOOD SIR

  • The Heart of the Forest serves as the lock to the Maw
  • And there must always be a *checks notes * Jailer!
  • And if we kill Zovaal… whoever could we ascend into a supreme death being and lock into the Maw?!

Why Sylvanas!

And so Tyrande punishes Sylvanas for all eternity.

I don’t know about all of that Winter Queen = Persephone stuff, it’s an interesting idea though. I definitely believe Ardenweald’s sole purpose (on a meta level) is to bring the Night Elves that died in Teldrassil back to life. It’s literally the only play Blizzard has to cool temperatures surrounding the burning on both sides. And it explains Blizzard’s cavalier attitude toward the genocide, if they knew all along they were going to undo it.

IMO I think it makes sense given the Winter Queen is the only one’s whose list of titles doesn’t include the word “first” in any language or “born” in any sense. The Fae all say she literally created Ardenweald by extending her hand, and Blizzard already confirmed Ardenweald is tied to the Dream (and we see that in-game, the dead Tirna groves naturally become “thin veils” between the Dream/Nightmare and the Weald). As well as the generaly overaching themes of Shadowlands.

but yeah this

Great. So if I pick Night Fae I have to put up with her crap talking down to me. Wonderful. She seems to quickly forget that my character is the only reason her husband didn’t end up the Nightmare Lord’s b*tch.

That said, She is possessed by the aspect of a god’s vengeance. It would be nice if we at least get a sorry for the crap talk afterward though.

Plot twist, since you join the Night Fae, you’re one of them, so you too will share in Tyrande’s pain.

Well, it’s better than the usual way Blizzard handles lore resolution: “Buy the book / comics / exclusive promotional material found only at BlizzCon!”

The ardenweald questline is in the beta

My Zandalari druid will go for Ardenweald first no doubt.

Quoting from YouTube:
“The voice over lines from 1:00 to 1:14 aren’t spoken by Tyrande herself, but by a maw sorcerer pretending to be her”.

Of course, people will ignore and speculate/complain wildly.
