I’ve been reading these forums for a couple of weeks, and I always found it strange how so many people, Alliance and Horde, have just roasted Anduin for “not caring enough” about the Night Elves. You can accuse Anduin of many things, but you can’t accuse him of not caring about all members of the Alliance.
I felt the need to defend the Alliance a little bit.

While I can’t be sure if it is a minority or majority, there is no doubt a vocal sentiment against him. Most of it to my understanding being thanks to Golden’s renditions of him as some perfect golden boy, and putting the spotlight on him as a result.

If we’re being honest, Theramore was at risk because it was a human city on Kalimdor while Garrosh was Warchief. People who think he would’ve left Theramore alone otherwise weren’t paying attention.

I find it funny seeing Night elf players complain that the Alliance doesn’t care for them and is leaving them to die.

Blizzard has a no win situation on its hand. On the one hand you have night elf players complaining that they get sidelined so that Humans get all the spotlight. So if the rest of the Alliance showed up in Darkshore Night elf players would complain that they were getting sidelined on what should be their content.

On the other hand when the rest of the Alliance don’t show up Night elf players complain that the Alliance isn’t doing enough and assisting the Nightelves should be the Alliance primary focus.

Its Basically the same as Draenei players complaining that the Alliance didn’t send everything to Argus.

Finally I ask Nightelf players to tell exactly what they have done to assist the Alliance directly short of just existing? (I can only think of saving the Worgen however even the Humans sent the seventh legion to try take back Gilneas) So as far as I can tell Humans do far more for their allies that the Night elves ever have.

I mean, we contribute troops to the Alliance military, like in the 7th Legion, even if they are fighting on the other side of Azeroth. in doing so, we helped to liberate Gilneas. We also saved the Gilnean people, so there is that.

This is the SF. Any hint of action will be taken to it’s illogical extreme :stuck_out_tongue:

So nothing more than what the Alliance has already done for the Night elves then.

Seeing as they have the writing pen in hand, I doubt that.

The only thing I can see satisfying some Night elf players is them leaving the Alliance and successfully defeating the Horde single handedly.

Blizzard has already bent over backwards trying to adjusting the story for Night elf players.

Yet where were the retcons when Humans champions were being raised and instantly serving the forsaken armies. Where was the outcry of Nightelf players when the humans towns is eastern kingdoms were wiped out by the plague in Cataclysm. and were the Night elves charging north to take back the lands to save the humans? no wait they were too busy looking after their own interests in Ashenvale.

Even now the Human kingdoms are resorting to sending out farmers to fight its wars because the other races aren’t contributing to a combined effort.

Actually, they’d be happy with the alliance being written as an actual alliance instead of “humans and their sidekicks.” Also probably the removal of High King as a title, because its stupid. The vast majority of the alliance story problem could be solved easily by blizzard not taking shortcuts with the story.

But that is exactly what you got in the story, The Night elves striking out on their own without the assistance of the Alliance. However then you complain that the rest of the Alliance isn’t there to help.

I agree that the High King position was a Lazy attempt by Blizzards writing staff to make it simpler to write for and it should be removed However I don’t think that would make you any happier.

Night elves have had plenty of Content over the last couple of expansions which is specific to them with their leadership in charge.

If Blizzard decided that Dwarves or gnomes should be in charge as they have been the most neglected race I’m sure you’d be on this forum complaining about them.

You are not the only ones trying to get it back. More importantly, Anduin was planning on getting it back AFTER we make sure Sylvanas doesn’t not get the chance to threaten the rest of the Alliance. Anduin is asking for PATIENCE, something clearly Tyrande didnt learn.

“We’re just gonna let them kill you a bit longer so they don’t kill us. Coolsies?”

The Forsaken starting zone involves undead that defect and attack the Forsaken. And the people turned in Western Plaguelands and Silverpine were explained in a Cdev. Plus you had the turned Gilnean nobles defect as well.

They’re sending farmers because they’re running out of soldiers period.

I actually do agree with this point, not to seem contrarian. Legion and Battle for Azeroth has had some of the best Night Elf stuff (imo) so far.

Lulwat. Dwarves should be running the alliance. They have been a bedrock of stability until varian showed up and made them stupid by proximity in order to justify his stranglehold on the narrative.

Night elves aren’t happy with the story because blizzard has a proven record of kicking them for cheap drama. Until they prove otherwise, no amount of dev talk us going to prove otherwise. The only good night elf content has been ancient or neutral night elf stuff where the alliance hasn’t tainted they I to being victims.

Yeah I really enjoyed watching no one understand that “TYRANDE WHERE ARE MY LOVE???” Was actually Xavius messing with Tyrande while we find one dead nameless druid disguised as Malfurion after another.

Oh oh! And my favorite part watching my favorite race get genocided. Such great content for Night Elves. Yeap. Top notch stuff.

what the hell do you mean without the assistance of the alliance, they are not striking out on their own, they have the gilneans (who are alliance) sending them aid

I respectfully disagree. I’ve enjoyed Val’sharah, Malfurion and Tyrande actually doing stuff relevant for once, her interactions in Suramar, their stories in the War of Thorns.

The Night Elves should break away from the Alliance and should single handedly defeat the Horde in Darkshore and Ashenvale. The Night Elves were their own faction in Warcraft 3, its about time they are again.
