There are people who do things for welfare of others. Sorry you live in a world where that is not the case.

Integrity, sure. Idealism? I wouldn’t say so.
But a dirty cop is fundamentally different. A cop who does his job well and does it for a paycheck is fine, whether or not there is altruism. I would say most job are motivated by self interest. Doesn’t mean they are doing a bad job.
that is called volunteer work, but most cops are not volunteers. it is not a charity it is a job they need to get paid, so they can pay their rent, buy their food, and purchase any luxury items they can afford.
these people won’t do this kind of thing for nothing because they need to make a living too.
If a cops greatest motivator is money, then they are easy to buy.
I never said cops shouldn’t be paid. I said they get paid for noble work. because it is deserved. But a cop who does things solely for money is easy to buy, and thus is why those who are motivated solely by their own agenda’s should be cops.
Literally no one would be a cop if they weren’t paid. Even the most virtuous of public servants need a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear, etc. Very few people have the luxury of being able to commit 1/3 of their day to a job without being paid for it.
Mother just gets saved from a heart surgeon who became one for the money.
“Due to my expertise I was able to save her life.”
“Oh yeah? Well no thank you! You only did it for the money!”
money is what motivates everyone, because without money, you can’t live. everything we need to survive costs money.
LOL, tell that to teachers.
even teachers are paid, they wouldn’t being doing what they do otherwise. if we said no more pay for teachers, every single one of them would quit and find a new job that would pay them
Inb4 people should build houses for people for free so they don’t need to pay rent, cause that’s what nice people do.
My mom is a teacher. She obviously values the service that she does, but she literally could not teach without being paid for it. She has bills to pay.
Not much… Did you go to public school? They are working poor class citizens and often have to buy classroom supplies with their own paychecks. No one becomes a teacher for the money.
I never said they -shouldn’t- be paid… please go back and reread my post rather than jumping onboard the gaslighting strategies of this worgen.
This debate is extremely stupid.
The Alliance protected Night Elf lives time and time again. End of point.
Tyrande disagrees with the Alliance prioritizing 2 Human kingdoms (one of them dead) over the Night Elves. I’m with her.
False, Stormwind used the Night Elves to expand their sphere of influence and power, making Night Elves a vassal state of their empire.
yes i did, and even they are wanting that paycheck, if the schoolboard went “we aren’t paying you anymore, you are only supposed to do this because its the right thing” every single teacher would go “no pay, okay we quit” even the most righteous worker won’t work if they are not being paid for it. because they need that money
You can read my other posts if you want to see the flaw in that reasoning. It’s not a matter of priority, its a matter of feasibility, of making the ends you seek match with the means you have available.
Because they need it to survive, but with the required education it takes to be a teacher, they could secure jobs that pay significantly more. If they acting solely in their own self interest, then we wouldn’t have teachers.
Being motivated by money and having integrity aren’t exclusive. Again, actual performance matters more than motivation. Positing situations of negative performance is irrelevant to that judgment.
They are. Because to have integrity, you have to be willing to turn down money for the sake of altruism, or an idealistic view of the work you do.
