Teldrassil was burned because they couldn’t write a war with the Night Elves captive, that would be victory for the horde.
Lordaeron was blighted because the Alliance couldn’t win there.
Rastakhan was killed but the horde managed to fend off the invasion forces, bringing temporary victory to the Alliance.
Nathanos lead most forces to the Nazjatar trap, leading the faction war to even terms again.
Now the factions are working together. Yay.
I think, tone is what matters to some.
Teldrassil is considered a Horde victory in the war, despire everything, they won, they got through ashenvale, darkshore, almost killed Malfurion.
But Lordaeron doesn’t strike as a big Alliance victory, because the city was already empty and the Horde made sure to make it unusable by the alliance. So while technically a win for the Alliance, the Horde made sure they could not enjoy this victory either.
That’s not the same thing and you know it. Not when it was destroyed on your terms, will all of it’s inhabitans evacuated. And not when said explosion killed a large chunk of the Alliance forces there, while not harming a single Horde soldier.
If you can’t understand the difference, then so be it.
On the upside though, the guilds that will lead the game in World Firsts are generally always going to be Horde Guilds because of the superior racials. Cannonically speaking then it’s always the Horde adventurer who delivers the happy ending to the story.
Gameplay wise… the Horde does very well compared to the Alliance.
Shouldn’t be in yours either. But we all have our defects.
So because it wasn’t perfect it means it wasn’t on your terms?
No. But they still survived, whereas the people of Teldrassil did not. That makes it a lot better for the Horde.
Then I assume you won’t have a problem if every horde soldier present at Teldrassil is executed? They are, after all, nobodies.
Not compared to the Alliance.
Not really. I don’t care who kills Sylvanas, as long as she get’s the fate she has tried to avoid.
Course, that alone wouldn’t settle the Horde’s debt. One down, one to go.
Compared to the former, the later is a win. Especially when you destroy a large chunk of the enemy army. And that is a thousand times more than the Alliance got with Teldrassil.
Your opinion. To some people, they do matter.
Until Blizzard decides that they do. It’s all in their hands.
And we had to deal with genocide, without being able to do a thing. We simply became a sidenote to the Horde’s story.
I guess if Sylvanas killed herself while avoiding her fate I would be fairly pissed. Because that would be the equivalent outcome to the Undercity being destroyed by the Horde.
The fact is. Sylvanas almost won the war on Lordaeron, almost scoring Anduin, Genn and Alleria in one shot. Jaina saved the day.
The Horde was prepared. And that is the tone of the expansion, the Horde starts winning (WoT, Lordaeron, and then the Zandalari openly receiving them) and ends up losing more and more after that. While the Alliance starts losing on all fronts and slowly building up. That culminates on Dazar’alor.
And it meant absolutely nothing whatsoever. And in order to win the battle of Dazar alor, we had to send half of our army on a suicide mission.
In the end, we got nothing. No revenge, and no reparations. What’s the point of winning if you don’t gain anything from it?
I’ve already told you exactly what is required. Sylvans defeat, and her eternal damnnation. And for the Horde to atone. That’s what i’ve been saying since the beginning, and what I will continue to hold to.
And I sitll hold true that none of them have been avenged. 3 of them not at all and Teldrassil only partially.
Nothing to do with Alliance privilege. I merely stated that we lost catastrophically at Teldrassil, while the Horde managed to mitigate their loss at Lordaeron. Do you understand the difference? I’ll be glad to explain it again.
Horde: lost a city, a lot of nobodies and the most relevant orc character
I’m not saying the Alliance had it good, far from it. I’m simply saying that what you want (vengeance/ justice/ parity/ whatever for various things like Gilneas and Teldrassil) you’ve gotten some of and the story is still moving forward. I’m not saying be happy, I’m saying don’t discount what you’ve gotten.
Right, I forgot. Everyone in Teldrassil was a character as important to the story and players as Saurfang, Sylvanas, Nathanos and Rastakhan. My mistake…
A bit melodramatic but that’s to be expected. Now ask yourself, would you rather be in the Horde’s position? Do you think the Horde has it better than the Alliance at present?
Depends. If you are pro Sylvanas you’re probably at suicide watch. If you’re more pro Thrall’s horde, then at least you aren’t constanly haunted by a desire for revenge that is unlikely to come, and you get the oportunity to redeem yourself by venturing into the Shadowlands. To me, that’s better. But I get that there’s a difference of opinion here.
Not how I see it. I’d roleplay it more akin to someone who made a grave mistake, and who will do anything to atone for it. Fuelled by that determination, they will go anywhere and do anything to set things right.
Think of it like the Slayer oath from warhammer, but with a different goal than dying.
