Tyrande and Horde [Night Fae Spoiler]

Sure, but that doesn’t also mean the reason wasn’t to preserve the “lawful good overdrive” Alliance they are trying to project. It could also be that they forgot and are bad writers, which they are.

So we living in a world where Sylvanas tells the truth?

The game however showed “Sunreaver Portal” and in War Crimes, it was described as a Sunreaver agent.

Blizzard being contrarian at its finest. I think a lot of the arguments on the forums is due to contradictory sources., which the devs do a very poor job at resolving.

The game tells you “Silvermoon Charm” in the quest, but shows you “Sunreaver Charm” as the actual action button. Pretty obvious it was part of Garrosh’s 42D chess “keep the blood elves with the Horde by setting up the Sunreavers” plan.

Also, the person that said it was a Sunreaver agent was Anduin, who wasn’t involved at all and likely given information from a… biased source.

Thanks for the clarification. I do find it weird that the author would repeat it and confuse the reader though, especially as I remember it being in narrator mode.

Considering they threw the Garrosh plot thing at us outside of the game (in a… tweet? Character bio? I forget) I wouldn’t be surprised if no one had any idea what they actually wanted to do with it and Golden didn’t get the memo on which version of the story they went with.

Well, no - if you know the story, it was a renegade mission. Not the entirety were aware of what happened. Plus they deemed minimal blood shed when the mission was carried out, yet Jaina was like “Welp, it’s genocide o’clock.”

That being stated, there is some blood elves that still harbor hatred & immense distrust towards what happened in Dalaran. Such as the obvious Archmage Aethas Sunreaver, along with Grand Magister Rommath.

Lor’Themar says he understood punishing actions, but didn’t anticipate it to be so harsh and believes it to have had crossed a line - he was in the middle of negotiations with Varian at the time to join the Alliance & tore it to shreds because of what happened, then you launch a rescue mission to save what few souls you can from Dalaran & the wrath of Jaina and the blood thirsty discriminative Silver Covenant (during the purge, with all the slaughter the Silver Covenant were literally in the food hall of the Sunreavers celebrating).

When rescuing Baine in BFA, you get stopped by a blood elf who’s not stopping you for Sylvanas but merely to urk the Alliance & primarily Jaina for what happened with the purge. If you think it’s all sunshine & rainbows with all of the Blood Elves with those events, you’d be very wrong.

“Although you still have some whining about it anyway.” well, uh - if you had your friends or family murdered, throats slight - ice pinnacles launched through their skulls and other sums imprisoned in uncanny conditions; you’d be whining too. :man_shrugging:

The random civilian may be right in having some hate even if jaina’s actions were justified, rommath was already hating on jaina so whatever, lorthemar got put into a bad position (because of aethas but ill explain) so he had to act against jaina, however that snake of aethas has no right to it because his inaction was part of what caused the theft of the bell and he was trying to snake his way out of taking responsability, thus he is part of the reason jaina had to purge the sunreavers from dalaran, she gave him the choice to leave but because of pride he didnt, and because of that she was forced to purge the city, its HIS fault his people got put in the dog house and he shouldve done a better job as the leader of the sun reavers, at least he has the decency of feeling ashamed when lorthemar is defending him in front of jaina.

There was no way the kirin tor could trust the sunreavers after two betrayals.

He managed to crawl back his way into dalaran but it wasnt easy and he got stripped and tied by a harpy for his problems, luckly for him karma didnt hit him that hard because i guess he now has a new kink and a nightborne apprentice, he is still being told now to screw up this chance to make things right.

This is hyperbole and lacks nuance that i just provided, you’re welcome.

I’d think in real life even if hitler helped you, that excused wouldnt work on most people

Ah, I see. Honestly I’m behind of that way of thinking tbh but also not afraid to shed blood, especially elfie blood if they want conflict which honestly should be the whole motto of Warcraft. Lots of franchise do that and not moralise the conflict as that would only attract uncomfortable thoughts on the players that ultimately just leads to people to quit.

Oh, nice. The Hitler comparison. Classy.

But in truth. I repeat. How would the Vulpera know?

Alliance is just as bad for burning the Vulpera homes and people as their very first interaction with Vulpera. It’s literally the same as Teldrassil, if not worse. You’re burning non combatants who are unaware of the war.

This 110%, BfA set this game/story back to a point that I don’t think can ever be repaired. The whole Sylvanas story line is probably one of the most damaging things in Warcraft history to the integrity of the writing. It’s just completely cringe.

Looking it up, Tyrande does not blame Vulpera or the Horde player in general for burning Teldrassil:

Shandris Feathermoon says: Minn’do, come with us. We can leave the darkness of the Maw behind and bring you back to the light.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: You think this hero of the Horde will aid us? I should strike them down where they stand!
Shandris Feathermoon says: I share your doubts… but I have witnessed them saving lost souls. I believe they can help us.
Shandris Feathermoon says: You need not trust them… but I ask that you trust me.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: So be it. See that this champion of the Horde atones for their people’s crimes.

What does atone for their people’s crimes mean then?

Maybe not but frankly when ever the factions get involved it ends up souring the experience. Blizzard tends to be at their best when doing neutral and impartial groups and exploring new cultures or peoples. Basically stock adventuring fare rather than faction politics, conflict and drama. The faction crap in BfA ruined Zandalar for me.

It means what it means. If anything, Horde players atoning for the Horde’s crimes is allowing the Horde players to make amends on behalf rest of the Horde that is not there to make amends for themselves.

Atoning for the crimes of the horde.

Not the crimes of your character.

It’s collective and she wants to slay the Horde player where they stand. Ergo she does blame the PC.

Tyrande is ready to assume that all Horde are evil, that is for sure, but her statement does not make it so she is claiming your character did the burning.

Isn’t the player character in question still identifying as horde bad enough?

I mean, last I checked Blizzard hasn’t given us an option to play Alliance Vulpera. I can RP that all I want, but there’s no actual way to remove the Horde identifier from my Vulpera characters in the game.
