TWW quality has

Did it, though? Imo it had a pretty rough start with deleted guild banks, people losing reputation they’ve farmed, currencies and gold that went missing because of the warbank… the AH that was broken for a while, the Delves that were an unbalanced and, at least for a few days, a completely broken mess. Title/achievement spam when logging in has been there for months, as well as bugged auto-loot and having to step away from NPCs after completing a quests, because otherwise it’s not possible to accept a new quest. The extremely bugged Dawnbreaker dungeon (has this dungeon been fixed in the meantime?), several talents not working at all at release.
The list just goes on and on, the quality of TWW has been questionable (and I’m being generous here) from the start.
It’s not a great expansion release just because people were able to log in and the servers didn’t explode.

I’m not having a dig at Larian or anything, but just because they made a terrific game like BG3 doesn’t really mean they’re craft and expertise would translate well into them managing a live and ancient MMORPG like WoW.

That’s pretty funny. Last I heard this was a WoW forum? You know, like where people come to talk about WoW?

Saying they hate retail but play classic kinda counts as talking about WoW, wouldn’t you say? Where else should they go to talk about it?

I’m no one, so I definitely qualify to be ignorant of this.

Also, I’m very glad that I’m not living online enough to get this reference. :slightly_smiling_face:

Maybe, but apathy is worse. I absolutely loved WoW and now I hate what it has become so yes I’m quite vocal in the hopes that Blizzard makes changes to bring back the game I love from life support.

Just walking away means giving up. I’m still in the fight.

How has it gone down in quality if there hasn’t been any major updates?

I love classic, it’s not Vanilla but it’s close Enough. I’m on my 8 HC character. I can’t get enough of the pre Cata life haha.

Doesn’t mean they don’t either. I personally see them as a pinnacle in gaming in so much as they have a solid game without many bugs at all coming out the proverbial box.

In short, they give a :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Still a much better company at squishing them.

The goalposts just moved.

What do you imagine these two statements have to do with each other?

If Classic players are already content playing their even-worse-graphics museum, why would a graphic overhaul to retail bring them back?

You make no sense.

I don’t hate retail because of the graphics. There is a lot more to it then that.

Threads like this are kind of dumb because it ignores how massive WoW’s scope is and how many moving parts are involved.

Larian wouldn’t have the manpower or the knowledge base to even handle a fraction of WoW.

No big companies make MMORPGs anymore for a good reason.

This supposition ignores that possibility of hiring more people.

Hardly, this was my point all along, you missed it.

This supposition ignores the reality that Larian has a budget as well.

It also ignores the reality that hiring more people dilutes agility and adds more management layers.

If Larian had to double their staff, they wouldn’t be Larian anymore. They’d have to hire much, much more than double their staff to handle WoW.

Better to be a master of one craft then a master of none and “meh” quality for trying to be in too many crafts.
