TWW quality has

TWW quality has gone down. It’s pretty awful as of late, so I wonder…

…how would it be if Larian Studios got a hold of WoW?

Probably not great since they pretty much only make one type of game…and its not action MMOs

WW started off good but now it’s on cruise mode.

Not dramatically better, to be honest. You’d be waiting even longer for less. But I guess at least you could romance a druid in bear form and throw a water barrel on a fire elemental I guess.

I say this as someone who liked Larian games before it was cool. You whippersnappers got in with Larian with BG3, but have you played Dragon Commander? No. Only I have. And I loved it.

The only thing that can save WoW at this point is a major graphics overhaul to bring in new players. Classic players HATE retail.

It seems like, IDK, wha do I know, but maybe, just maybe the game has been taken in the wrong direction

I know who I blame for it

Probably stern calling out of the execs by Sven and walking out the front door after confirming the game’s too far gone to save. I doubt they’d be in the mood to rebuild the game from the ground-up.

… then again, I wouldn’t mind giving them the IP and being able to make their own spin-off. Preferably with next-to-no-oversight from the executives.

Its sort of wierd to “blame” anyone.

A company made a product…you either like or or you don’t.

If anything., we should blame time. We have all gotten older and our tastes have changed

So we could get the 4th iteration of Divinity, except this time they’ll use WoW characters instead of D&D?

Not that its bad, but Im not exactly sure that it would make everybody happy

I don’t know if it’s against the rules of me mentioning this, but I was on youtube and saw a bunch of interesting concepts coming from private servers like they have new classes like blood mages and hunters that specialize in bugs.

I haven’t gone back to play their older games (yet), so I’m not burned out on the formula at this point… and judging from BG3’s quality & success alone, there’s something that works there.

In any case, Larian is at the point where this wouldn’t be a bad idea; the broader audience would gladly take more, assuming some innovation and iteration to refine the formula.

Classic players aren’t even real, man.

I completely disagree with that.

Considering that this is the first time I’ve heard about this studio??? Things would only get worse.

Players wanted faster content release cycles. So instead of polished new ideas, we get recycled Timeless Isle slop that seems to be riddled with bugs on every release.

You won’t see any original ideas outside of an expansions launch anymore, every patch until then are just going to be the same thing, the same formula with no risks taken.

They made Baulders Gate 3…which has won a rediculous amount of awards, including 4 for best game/game of the year, a few for best writing/narrative, and a bunch of other various awards

From what I heard, BG3 gets progressively less polished and weaker as the game goes on. People just give Larian a lot of leeway because they’re independent and they do have a strong commitment to good business practices. But they wouldn’t have the wherewithal to run WoW, not even close.

Ion Hazzikostas, the Greek Lawyer, allocates resources within the development team. Main resource being time.

It’s the “whichever wolf you feed” meme. The man is in charge of the feedings.

Remember when everyone thought an MMO from BioWare was a good idea?

Larian makes great games, but they make a very different kind of game.
