TWW is going to be bad isn’t it?

Again, that’s your opinion.
Most actually loved Skyrim, alongside its stories.
Additionally it still has one of the highest reviews amongst games, lol

I mean last time i checked MMO stood for Massively Mupltiplayer Online… so I dont see what that has to do with outdated game designs? Also weren’t you arguing for an OG Vanilla leveling system? Aka, an outdated game design.

Just because you may not enjoy a story that is told to you an has emotion of any kind, doesn’t mean that stands for everyone. I’d say it stands to reason, the average person would rather have a story that is told to them than one they have to find. Thus why only Souls-like games (for the most part) make you search for a story. If I was wrong then Skyrim/God of War/Dragon Age Inquisition and such never would have made GOTY. All of which have character drama…

Yea it’s one of the most overrated games of all time IMO. And a lot of elder scroll fans agree it’s worse than Oblivion and Morrowind. Skyrim was just a lot of peoples first rpg.

I hated all those games. Combat sucked.

The story presentation is terrible. Cutscenes are never the correct way. I thought they did well with Wrath where you open up areas and see the events unfold as you do quests. The playable story is much better. And I am tired of the same old voice actors and Anduin just being whiney.

Um idk, not really. I just want modern zones to be harder and less linear. I like the minibosses.

Skyrim/God of War/Dragon Age Inquisition

You know I dump on Skyrim but the game had stuff going for it. It was basically the only open world RPG for console players.

God of War games are great. Do they even have a story? I don’t remember it. He just kills all the gods cause he’s a gangster like that.

I skipped Dragon Age Inquisition. Looked like a spiritual successor to Skyrim (which I didn’t enjoy)

It always feels like I am playing a medieval knight and then the avengers show up out of nowhere and start talking about the infinity stones.

Yeah, honestly I wouldnt mond seeing a return to the story telling from WoTLK.

100% the voice actors need a replacement and honestly Anduin needs to be killed off or just disappear. The story was more compelling when Blizz wasnt trying to force a story but instead just see where it goes. Back when they were less afraid to offend people or kill off your fav story people. Or just keep people dead for that matter.

Welp, like you said – That’s in your own opinion.

Blizzard are naturally going to go with the numbers and data, and the numbers & data show that most have enjoyed gameplay that has story elements. :person_shrugging:

I can 100% agree on zones. Its fine when your cap and geared wrecking everything, but not when you just get there and walk through like a Demi-God.

Skyrim did a lot of things right. (I wasnt a fan of the story, but alot were.)

God of War had a story, most of us just missed it in the first 3 games because of exactly what you said lol. However, after 3 they really leaned into the story of Kratos and then eventually his son and it did better in sales than it ever had previously + got GOTY.

Dragon Age: Inquisition was akin to… I cant think of a game off the top of my head, but I definitely wouldnt say Skyrim. 4 character party that you could play as your personal made or the other 3 in action combat or you could slow it down and go top-down move for move like a RTS. Was a wild system and made a lot of things super fun. It also wasnt afraid to punish you or reward you for going out to explore.

Not to mention daily updates of the game for a couple of days in a row now aka “let’s add another bug to the game”.

That happens if you don’t log in to that toon for a while. I can’t remember the exact amount of time (something like 5 or 6 months). the guild will automatically be switched to a new player that is more active. I’ve seen that issue since WOLK. Not sure why though.

Edit: I mean the guild master position will be switched to a different player…

Data shows the opposite. By far the most popular games are multiplayer games with no story. And the most popular single player game atm is a fromsoft game.

The issue with covenants is they were a pain in the rear to change. Hero talents are also that way?

I don’t think that was the issue with covenants.

Issue was they were lame. They offered a weak class fantasy and barely delivered on it.

Subspecs don’t work. They’re not interesting. Half of these hero talents should’ve been 4th specs and the other half should’ve been left on the cutting board.

Amongst MMORPGs, no it really doesn’t.
In the wide-spectrum of games in general, it’s incredibly broad as there’s been both terrible and amazing games on both sides.

Even amongst single player games there’s still loads of renowned games with stories, such as:

  • Ratchet and Clank
  • Spyro the Dragon
  • Jak & Daxter
  • Zelda
  • God of War
  • Kingdom of Hearts
  • BioShock
  • Assassins Creed
  • Halo

etc …

Some games are simply better suited or designed around a story — And as far as WoW has come with its lore & stories, it would naturally fall under that category now.

Yeah, I haven’t bought it yet.

Haven’t been too hyped to be honest, might take a WoW break and come back a few weeks after launch.

The early access thing, just not a fan and going to vote with my wallet.

TWW, idk it might just be one of the weakest expansions yet. From my perspective.

These NEVER had good story writing. Or even good character writing. (the God of War with the boy had good character writing but not good story writing)

  • Ratchet and Clank

I mean, it’s funny I guess. (boy I love hearing the same joke on multiple playthroughs /s)

  • BioShock

I mean, Bioshock had good environmental story telling. I couldn’t tell you how well cutscenes are implemented tho, I haven’t played it. Don’t even know if it has cutscenes.

  • Halo

Why do people like this story? I honestly have no idea.

  • Assassins Creed

Now you’re just trolling.

And as far as WoW has come with its lore & stories, it would naturally fall under that category now.

WoWs books arean’t even good. It’s movie wasn’t even good. WoW doesn’t have good lore.

They nerfed the tanks. They haven’t made the damage less spiky.

I rarely bother making predictions about the future… when I can help it anyway. In the case of TWW (whether it will be good or not)… get back to me at the end of the expansion.

I enjoyed DF for the most part, though I was sad to leave behind my other mounts for the most part, unless in a dungeon or in the old world.

I still remember slowly unlocking the other mount colors and people even whispering me asking how I got a few of them back in the early days of the xpac.

I enjoyed going after the different dragon horns and tails, etc but mid the late xpac, I couldn’t really be bothered.

I can’t wait to explore the new zones in TWW but time will tell the zones feel closed in or if they managed to make them feel big enough that it isn’t the case. IMO maybe 2 of the 4 zones should have been top-side, not 3/4.
