Two Alliance races got dark ranger options, while one Horde did

There really was no reason for Void Elves to get the Dark Ranger skins. At most I think Red Eyes would’ve been fine, but only because red eyes have been seen with Old God stuff before, so it works as a void aesthetic. I suppose the grey skin isn’t all that different from some shades of Void Elf skin colors either, but I think players looking for more Void aesthetic would’ve been happier with something other than a fifth shade of gray.

I didn’t care about red eyes anyways and always wanted Azsharas eyes for VEs which seems a type of red so it would be odd to like that but not red.

It’s the undead skin tones and implications of VEs benefitting from something that could have offset the loss of visual uniqueness on BEs, and instead it didn’t do that. VEs now have 3 visually distinct themes and couldn’t be left out of one customization patch they’ve been in every one, what did BEs get when ARs were worked on? It was the AR pass supposedly but they let VEs in when they worked on core races so why not?

I think it’s silly to pair red eyes w undead skin as a hard lock tbh Sylvanas rn has blue eyes.

Agreed. Another shade of gray skin for Void Elves is a drop in the bucket, but they should be able to pair those red eyes with any skin color. Honestly, I’d say the same of Blood Elves. Elven eye color is affected by magic, so any Blood Elf working with the Venthyr may as well have red eyes for gathering all that red anima.

please STOP CRYING

If Sylvanas has blue eyes idk why that would signify to let eye color be a choice w this option.

Even BE golden eyes on an undead to me I wouldn’t think holy light don’t forsaken have yellow eye colors I feel like I’ve seen art of them on the official website w that color. And then green.

I mean tbh they need to let DKs change their eye colors to the same choices too, red ,yellow green. But thats besides the point.

Arguably to me once again BEs couldn’t have gotten something even a long standing Horde request w/o it being given to VEs. This is why BE fans who value visual uniqueness argue against VEs getting our Farstrider tattoos and anything else, and the oddest part of all the only thing no one really seems to care about (from people arguing for visual uniqueness) and the only thing that should be shared but isn’t for what ever reason is the jewelry.

Except they can be paladins, and now this can of worms is gonna be open. I predict the forums will be flooded with forsaken players angry at the fact BE can play undead paladins and they cannot.

This can was opened long ago. Sir Zeliek, Calia Menethil, Lightforged Draenei Death Knights…

NEs also got it and they can be Druids.

I was fine w Paladin not being able to access the options but it’s not something I thought much about.

My issue is they could have left it at NEs and BEs.

Forsaken were never going to get the NE model and the BE model. Even if Forsaken are a Horde race I object to once again BEs model being duplicated for someone else’s benefit besides BE fans so I was always fine w the options for BEs and assumed NEs would happen too.

Sir zeliek was under control.

Calia is not considered forsaken, and is universally loathed

More so mechanics of the class then anything else.

This is a problem too.

I’m pretty sure they could if they wanted too actually.

This is false.

source. She is nuetral.

But they are not. Death knights has more of a resistence to using light then the average undead which dark rangers are generally.

No it was not.

Then that is m ore bad writing. She has no place in the forsaken, nothing about her can be related to them except she is a form of undead.

That’s not true anymore it seems.

Well minus the loathe part idk what the consensus on her is anymore.

But there’s new text that says she is Forsaken basically.

She’s considered Forsaken, this patch made it clear she has a place among them. Players don’t like her, but some are at least content that she wasn’t named Queen.

Then consider Blood Elf Paladins with Dark Ranger options to be the same. Like I said, this can of worms was opened ages ago.

To be fair to Blizzard. You’re not completely wrong, but we also did get the Dark Iron Dwarf weapons for the Horde as well. So, realistically, it’s balanced out.

The most annoying part about those transmogs is you have to be 48 to use them, I wanted to put them on my DID Warrior, but he’s too low.

Spoilers for both the image and video I guess but she’s not neutral, they’re saying she is Forsaken now.

Incidentally, the Dark Ranger options look absolutely banger with the new Blood Knight heritage armor.

So … I guess 9.2.5 stealth added Forsaken Paladins?

And yet, all the cool voidy hairstyles, tentacles, and skin tones remain uniquely tied to VE’s. At this point, might as well just give everyone everything and make Thalassian Elves a true neutral race like Pandaren.

If they can’t allow Horde Blood Elves to get ONE new skin and ONE new eye color that have always been lore-unique to their faction without VE’s also getting them, then I want cool emo hairstyles and tentacles for the Hode!

#tentaclesforthehorde!

(Also, the 50% discount on transmog would be much appreciated!)

where? in the questline?

I’m not feeling so disappointed since Forsaken will be led by a Council and it’s not like Calia is trying to take over.

Yeah at the end. Reading quest text if I recall.

In the last two to three quests right after you’ve done everything they all pretty much say “yeah we know you’re alliance, we knew all along”. But I forgot who it was that says there are elves wanting to rejoin ally. Calia also mentions that part of her first group meeting they will discuss leaving Gilneas for the Gilneans.

Pretty pumped for the new Desolate Council. Honestly the whole questchain was pretty good and felt like a good ol’ classic Forsaken.
