Yea with scaling quests, if those upgrades are significantly better than other BIS items, what’s the new strategy? Roll your toon, level to XP-off target, complete all quests and hope it triggers a fair amount of upgrades… tons of world out there that scales right to you now… and if you get super bad luck, just re-roll and start over. Perhaps the truly BIS twink is going to be an RNG nightmare that takes forever to gear now.

You keep saying that but it’s simply not true. Players who understand the nature of pvp don’t show up with missing slots or outdated/useless gear. They have heirlooms or current level quest or dungeon gear. The fact that you believe your character sets a standard is just sad.
Blizzard should not cater PvP to the lowest denominator.

orrrrr we just remove the twinks from “regular battle grounds” and let them have their own, xp off, twinked player, battle ground’s. oh wait.
Makes about as much sense as removing PVPers from Dungeon cues.

Yall are missing another twink-ish play style. I don’t pvp below like level 30 anymore because there are less buttons than eso on console. However, once I hit the 30s i’ll turn off my xp and get current gear in my non loom slots, slap on a few chants, and then turn my xp back on and bg for 4 or 5 levels. Then I’ll spend the 10 gold x2 to repeat the process. I get that twinks behaving badly are how ended up back at this place, but separate ques will not stop people from gearing up for bgs. These toons aren’t twinked, per se, they are levelers. I don’t need to afk out, exploit my way in, or any other unscrupulous activity to play them. I’ll still be geared and chanted and to someone who isn’t I may as well be a twink. I’m not in a hurry to get another toon to 120 and after reading these posts for the last two days (and better part of the last decade) that is one of the biggest differences in the two sides.

You get fine XP when you lose. Not as much as when you win, but about half as much. I’m in favor of merged queues, but don’t expect levelers to play like twinks.
In terms of the WF/TF quest reward game.
Pre-60 the stats on quest gear, outside a few dungeon quests, is typically so poorly alotted that it’s still worse than dung blues or boa gear (especially shoulder slot gear). In terms of 60-90s, and this is from my understanding, twinks will still want socket gear over wf gear for better stats, but upgrade items put questers more in line with the socket gear. As for 99s I’m not sure how it affects them honestly. It porbably doesn’t since they already had this in place. 109s is world epic boes warforges anyways, 110-119 is legendary/time walking warforges anyways.
Really the quest gear upgrading is only good for levelers imo. Which brings them in better alignment with twinks at a base level I think.
As an example, I got ilvl 61 shoulders, and ilvl 61 bracers on my priest (level 49), both I can’t use because of poor stat allocation vs dungeon blues. But they are a sizeable upgrade if I had ilvl 45 gear and/or no enchants (in the case of shoulders).
Personally I’d love leveling too give more XP and a larger amount of quest rewards, especially with these changes. I think wf/TF is fine for leveling, making getting items that are big upgrades feel fantastic, but is a terrible idea for max level imo.

Gear availability for non dungeon grinders is lackluster. Especially now. Make gear more readily available for levelers, make dungeon spam not the optimal way to play the leveling game (and questing between queues as DPS).
Note: i come from a time when bgs didn’t give XP, and never really played the when they did (just didn’t play wow as much amd mostly raided after wrath). You would quest for levels and I actually did bgs for gear (rings weapons, belts boots etc) as well as fighting other players.
No ones gonna want to hear it but templates in leveling bgs would fix this
It’s only a way to fix it for people who refuse to put in any effort. It ruins bgs for any gear head even if they don’t twink. The system was a failure that’s why they scrapped it.

When you segregate a powerful minority, do you really expect them to sit quietly by?
Twinks in all the brackets in all of the BGs maybe make up 1-3% of the total WoW pvp population.
That 1-3% was enough to totally mess your whole PvP experience up.

The real reason exp was added to BG’s was to level out the 19’s to 20… cause during Wrath when that change was implemented, it was getting really bad.
The expoff/on split happened weeks after that due to the outcry of the twinks not wanting to leave their respective brackets.
Decrease or eliminate XP gain’s in BG.
Stop making it so attractive that casuals will see it as the express to leveling up.
Then if they lose they won’t be as frustrated.
This still keep increased queue times, due to people not being as interested since you’re not gaining 1/3 a level on a BG win.
However you’ll be able to keep expon/off merged, and still have bg pops.

But gearing decently for Bg’s isn’t even that hard.
Since Blizzard took away PvP gear stats like resilience, and PvP power, any decent gear is viable.
I saw a rogue just completely annihilating people, and all she had on, was some dungeon blues mixed with heirlooms and a few enchantments. She was just leveling, and did fine.
It really does take pretty minimal effort to gear up for Bg’s now.
One doesn’t have to twink out to be competitive at all.
I did fine before I decided to exp: off. I can prove it.
These screenshots are some of my many alts, and they are nowhere close to being twinks, but yet I was able to do just fine, and I am old, slow, and disabled.
Why? Because I enchanted up their looms, and stayed on top of current gear, and that is literally it.
Plus, I believe that twinks get blamed for a lot crap they just simply are not doing.

Yeaaaaa, kinda what I’m thinking. The twink community is soooo small yet the few here are always affected by them.

Yeah. Specifically healers. Which is what we really need…less incentive for healers to que bgs.
