Intentional griefing and bypassing of a system Blizzard built often isn’t seen very well. See master loot, it was being used as Blizzard saw ‘incorrectly’ so it was removed. Blizzard did say they felt it was wrong now that templates were not a thing to put twinks in bgs with regular players, so we may actually see some changes here - Especially with how many people are leveling new allied races currently.
I can only guess but wouldnt it have to do something with xp as thats whats being avoided? That would be my guess. This thread has the most views on the subject, I would imagine the information here has been shared with decision makers, they can decide how. If it were me, I would do an amount of scaled xp to enter. Problem solved.
See, that’s that problem with Casuals in PVP. You Join a BG and then complain that you’re “being Griefed.” Literally not Griefing if this is the reason the BG exists.
I swear, you people aren’t going to be satisified until BGs are turned into 10 min Tea Parties.
Also, they’re not bypassing anything. Using the System as Intended.
First off, Ganking is something totally different. Ganking is specifically targeting players who are not interested in PVP.
Second, Ganking itself was completely condoned by blizzard as a Legitimate PVP Practice.
Ganking is not Griefing. Griefing is deliberately irritating and harassing other players within the game, using aspects of the game in unintended ways. (Key Word.)You Join BG knowing full well that your there to fight. It’s Kill or be killed.
and yet that happened constantly on PvP servers, enough to where they disabled PvP servers. Griefing was excessive ganking and camping, and including killing NPCs so a player could not play.
Same could have been said about PvP servers, kill or be killed.
It took them 14 YEARS to remove PVP servers. Must not of been a Problem.
Only reason they removed it was because they replaced it with a new system, which, btw still has Ganking. Nothing has actually changed.
Correct. Key word there being excessive. Ganking was perfectly fine with blizzard until Players started doing something that was not intended.
Again, was never a problem until they added EXP gains to BGs.
And then still wasn’t a Problem for 7 years.
Then they Implemented this same “Fix” years ago,
Resulting in the same practises you’re seeing to day.
That was the Reason they implemented templates in the first place.
Templates was the “Fix” to seperating the ques BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK.
Threads about what? The ones where people are pouting and going into BGs and making fools of themselves, trying to “stick it to the man”? Big deal, happened in Wrath and blew over. Let them get it out of their systems. As I mentioned before, it’s like grounding a kid and them stomping to their rooms, slamming the door thinking “I sure showed them!” Nothing new, nothing special, just a fad.
Not really. They’re still getting what they want.
Twinks still enjoying themselves.
Casuals are still Crying about “Twinks” hurting their poor whittle feelings.
I mean, there’s literally have people suggesting that Blizzard PUNISH them even more for doing exactly what BGs are for.
Twinks are winning this fight and your denial is just encouraging them.
It was a problem, it’s one of the reasons xp was added to BGs; because people that did them while leveling wanted there to be xp from it so their time wasn’t wasted even if they faced twinks. Templates was included at max level, so not really.
Actually, that wasn’t a problem because BGs weren’t about XP.
It’s was about Honor.
It wasn’t a problem for those who actually WANTED to do BG for the sake of PVP.
But you’re right. It was Levelers who caused the problem. At least you can finally admit it.
Templates were introduced in WoD, primarily to solve the gearing discrepancy among all brackets.
