Twinks are now just leaving BGs early

Twink infested brackets that just stomp every leveler in to the ground is pure and utter hyperbole.

I played a Bg just last week, and there were exactly TWO twinks in the BG (me and 1 on the other team who is a friend of mine)…
And guess what? We both got killed by being ganged up on.
It was glorious!

I’ve seen even the best geared twink be taken down by a group of levelers who worked together.
Oh and twinks get GY camped, too.

It was utter garbage for Blizzard to separate the brackets because the twink problem just simply was not there!

Thanks to this change, (and the fact that there is an error that is preventing people with certain types of video cards to log in), my usually highly populated friend’s list is nearly deserted with nobody logged in.
This stinks because for the first time in 10 years, WoW actually felt like an MMO :frowning:

I myself Leveled MOST of my Characters through BGs (some only a through single Brackets though.)

This was back when one BG netted you about as much Exp as a single Quest.
Now, You get so much EXP in ONE BG that I’ve lvled Characters from 10 to 30 in just a couple games. Frankly, it’s ridiculous. I didn’t even bother Twinking them because it was just faster to play through.

Now you have people opting not to even que for old content dungeons, because they’d rather que into a BG for faster lvling. And players who DO want to run dungeons now have THEIR Que times extended.

Sadly, I really enjoyed queuing for lower level dungeons on my Xpoff characters.
I could join anyone of my friends and enjoy seamless game play at any time we wanted.
Every bracket I would help friends through Dungeon queues all while being in BG queue with them.
That is gone.

Yea that’s why I didn’t mind sharing a bracket with twinks. But we have the entitled ones here.

I mean yea, games are still just as lopsided. I guess people die a few times less?

Don’t delude yourself. When you show up with missing slots and outdated gear, you are hindering your group.

When I was still leveling alts in BGs, it was much more frequent than that. I’ve mentioned 2 out of 3 games several times in this thread, and that was roughly the frequency I’d run into twinks. Games populated purely by levelers were the exception, not the rule, and I’ve run into the same twinks on different days.

I don’t throw hissyfits and try my best to stay detached from the games I play. Not staying cool-headed has a strong detrimental effect on play.

I only turn to BGs for leveling because questing turned to banal crap with the on-rails linear scripted-to-hell-and-back style that took over with the Cata revamp. Give me back zones where I can hit up a hub and stack 10 quests like I could before cata and I’ll be happy to abandon XP in BGs. The rinse-wash-repeat cycle of do 2 quests → return to hub is soul draining.

So you don’t even enjoy Bgs while leveling?

I do enjoy them! They’re a breath of fresh air compared to questing. But if questing were good (as it used to be) I would always have a choice between BGs and questing and have full agency about which brackets I choose to hang around and invest in. At times when leveling alts now I reach for BGs regardless of my gear status simply to escape that 2-quest-cycle drudgery.

It’s part of why I didn’t mind twinks and even twinked myself some in vanilla/TBC/WotLK. There was always a good alternative if the BGs for a particular bracket sucked.

Okay I hate to be this person, but what you are saying is “screw twinks” because I feel forced to BG. Because this really did screw twinks, not the 19s or 29s, but the later brackets.

I mean if there are other options that fix things that isn’t merging queues again I’m game for it, but it’s likely they’d all involve more cost/effort than Blizz would want to bother with. Also going by these threads, it seems most twink supporters won’t even entertain the notion of discussing alternatives, so why bother?

At this point, no. There was plenty of talk about alternatives. The whole buffing quest/dungeon gear was a step in the right direction. Nerfs to gems in instanced pvp was discussed at one point.

Tweaks like that may well work but I still think the game should embrace low level high-end competitive PvP in some official capacity with a special queue button, ladders, unique rewards, etc. Essentially 120 RBGs without the seasonal grind. That would inject a ton of life into the community.

Hmmmmm idk. Some classes are just so OP low levels. They can barely balance max level rated stuff.

I still feel like my idea would be simplest and cover all the bases:

What Blizz should do is REMOVE all static Exp Gains from BGs.
Then when a player ques for a BG, that player can choose to play for either EXP or Honor.
And Have appropriate rewards for players who choose whether or not to play for EXP:
Gear for those who do, PVP tokens for those who don’t.

This way, BOTH Twinks AND causal PVPs both can play for Honor/Pride/Esteem But no Exp while staying in their Chosen brackets.

And Levelers can Play for Gear and EXP but no Honor/rewards.

Xon players will still be paired with other Xon players and Xoff Player will still be Paired with Xoff Players, except when there’s a deficiency in one group in which the sorting system will add a few individuals (preferably with the highest Ilvl) to the other que to make up the difference (but never for a group that makes up less then probably 70-80% of that group’s base). Each player will still play for their desired reward while the discrepancy between groups should be negligible (worst case, an Xon player would be grouped with a Team of Xoff player, in which case the Xon player would probably still benefit the most.)

Seams to me would be far simpler system and no more difficult to implement then a two Que system.

Or just merge everyone and implement a damage scaling system. Or better yet, scale players gear/stats close to a twinks… not quite there, as high, but close.

Twink are discussing alternatives, just not on this forum. We have communities and a website to do it.

That doesn’t mean we have to accept this quietly. Even if nothing changes.

What did u expect from those pathetic cowards?

If my toon is less than a month old, has less than 100 quests completed, not one single item from the ah, and three chants that my level 52 zandalari chanting skill made. I killed 3 rares at 118 for my azerite pieces and qued for like 5-10 timewalking dungeons to get my other slots. How am I unfair to you? I have no grandfathered gear. I have no top tier chants (whatever that means). So, in just a few hours only following the rules that I’m presented with. I made multiple toons that are “unfair” to play against you. The moral of this story is twinks are being punished because you people are lazy. We are being punished for people who don’t pvp or if they do refuse to put any effort in. cry nonstop in /bg about how everything is unfair and constantly utter the “just let them win” nonsense. Cry all you want blizzard cannot make you a better player. If im going to be punished because of your laziness Ill just make disposable twinks and farm you. Im still geared and competent and youre still lazy and in whites. The song remains the same.

Uh, you misunderstand me, bud. XP in BGs was not always a thing in WoW. Not separate, just not at all. PVP was for the battle, not a bunch of no gear scrubs trying to level.
