Because… reasons?
And the Greatest Generation, the Silent Generation too… Gen X is pretty much the barrier…
To be fair they are regular players with zero insight into how any of the policies work. They don’t know anything about the Hacks team, the anti-cheat software, ban waves, etc.
Nobody ever gets “banned” for cheating from “mass reporting”. They do get banned if the anti-cheat software detects cheating.
That anti-cheat software can pick up false positives though, so if someone thinks they did nothing wrong, they should appeal.
However, if they were selling runs for real money, serving as a pass through for illicit gold, exploiting game bugs or oversights - that would be valid. Blizzard also does not allow any forms of automation including rotation macros and such - people have to stick to the in-game macro capabilities.
That would be a logical guess.
Yep! Exactly. It has to be totally manual so most people don’t bother anymore.

Why do people hate twinks so much? I honestly don’t get it.
Its not hating twinks, its abusing the system in order to queue and sell runs/carries.
I am baffled that people are so lazy to buy leveling runs when it takes two hours to go from 0 to 70.

People will throw dozens of dollars at Bejeweled to avoid waiting like 20 minutes to play again. The culture is insane.

multi-boxing is legal as long as 1 keystroke equals 1 action on 1 character. This is NOT botting. Example, alt-tab between multiple windows and pressing a key / clicking the mouse per character.
exactly…its not botting lol.
Not even close to botting.
Multiboxing is allowed as long as you are manually controlling ALL character actions on your own

People were using workarounds to get around the debuff. That’s an exploit, and probably why they caught a ban.
theres always some detail left out of it lol.
No way bliz is banning anyone over THEIR bad math.
Exploits are another matter.

Its not hating twinks, its abusing the system in order to queue and sell runs/carries.
Technically, they aren’t abusing anything. There is no way for Blizzard to automate twink detection.
They are legit players, who got payed behind closed doors outside of Blizzard’s reach or knowledge. Then they add the person in question to their friends list and “boost them.”
From an automatic system perspective - adding a person and then running dungeons with them is totally organic and legit.
Blizzard would never spend time or resources going after every single one of them manually. They’ve never done that - they’ll never do that.
I mean twink runs to speed it up a bit, but yea.
Its already absurdly fast lol.
I hit 30 on a fresh monk in an hour max. Its so silly.
Almost no one is selling runs. Lots of boosting friends though.

Almost no one is selling runs.
If it can be sold, and people will pay gold or cash for it, then there are definitely people selling.
Blizzard is going to lose more players. What is their problem?
Twinks aren’t an exploit. Manipulating the queue system to not recieve the debuff for being in a premade party with an xp-off character probably is though
people getting mad over timewalking LOL its uber casual content made to be done fast. no one wants to wait for your slowpokes to stop and smell roses. thats why you can go do the dungeon 100 levels above and experience it yourself if you want

Level 10s/11s are getting banned.
Oh, yes, 100% people are doing it.
But it’s not a widespread thing like Raid / M+ Carries.
Leveling is so quick and easy that twink runs go for like hundreds or single digit thousands of gold. It’s negligible, so most don’t focus on that. That’s all I meant. Most opt to either not try to monetize it, or at most have a macro mentioning tips that they mash at the start.

Why do people hate twinks so much? I honestly don’t get it.
Probably envy.
Let lvl 11s run keys.
Whats that? You only want blatant op carries when your e-pp isnt involved? Oh okay, double standards it is.
not seeing the problem here.
So I’m noticing a fair number of comments floating around, especially on the Reddit Thread (which makes sense since you don’t need an active account to post there), saying their ban email mentions “cheat programs”.
Blizzard isn’t stupid. They aren’t banning people for “cheat programs” because they’re doing a lot of damage on a level 11.
I’m wondering if the banwave is just hitting a bunch of people still using something like AHK, either because they multibox and haven’t stopped using the software to do so, or because they use AHK for other purposes and leave it running even though they don’t use it for WoW.
Anyone know anyone that for sure 100% does NOT use AHK or anything similar who has been banned in this wave?
Because twinking just seems like it’d have a really high overlap with the people who would have AHK on their computer, especially since a lot of people twink on alt / F2P accounts.
The Macro to bypass the XP Debuff could be the culprit. It’s entered into the chatbox. It’s probably a fairly simple scan to see if people are using that macro or variations of it.
But you can accomplish the same thing by effectively doing what PvP Premades do and just syncing the queues. I wouldn’t expect people are getting ACCOUNT CLOSURES over something that minor.
