Actual reality is that it does not deflect anything until the animation is done. Intended behavior or not, that’s how it works. The vast, vast majority of the time, you just didn’t use the ability fast enough. The stars aligning scenario where you’re still high health and a massive shadow tech goes through in the animation is not the same as expecting to deflect an ability that is mid-flight. It’s animation is longer than most melee attacks, so if you press them at the same time, the melee attack will still go through despite the aura being active. Can also happen with spells but it’s harder to identify which one happened first since you’re not in melee.

You guys are all arguing semantics…

The point he’s bemoaning is that you can actually turtle BEFORE the chaos bolt cast finishes and it will still hit and kill you (especially given how slow chaos bolt travels through the air) the difference can be substantial and tilting. Happened to me 2 days ago, is what it is.

Paladin POV:

Warlock casts bolt 30 yards away.
Paladin bubbles.
Bubble immunes bolt.

Hunter POV:

Warlock casts bolt.
Hunter turtles.
Bolt still goes through.

This is the known, expected, and understood difference in an immunity and a deflect/prevent from hitting mechanic.

Paladin POV:
Rogue flags, blinds healer, cheaps pal.
Pal bubbles
Rogue casts ST one ms after bubble.
Bubble immunes ST.

Hunter POV:
Rogue flags, blinds healer, cheaps hunter
Hunter trinket turtles
Rogue casts ST one ms after turtle
ST goes off and kills hunter

This is different. Not a spell already in flight. Turtle aura is active but the deflection component does not prevent the ST, because the animation is not complete yet and ST is a faster animation than turtle.

He casted it before turtle keybind was pressed not 1ms after is what ur failing to understand

Na man it’s the animation taking too long. Just like when you link people and they insta die anyways!

sometimes link actually does bug out and have a delay tho. Idk if its a latency issue or what but sometimes its delayed by 0.5 seconds and I lost or almost lose because of it

link usually goes off .25 seconds before the animation is even visable but sometimes its lags out or something idk
