Well, it does. So, now what?

No. It doesn’t. It’s behaving entirely as expected.
These aren’t mutually exclusive things.
How turtle works is unique. Yes, it is behaving as it has. How it behaves is bad IN my opinion.
These things also happen.
Using it “late” means that spells are already in the air, you’re at 10%, trinket turtle and still die because you didn’t use it fast enough. Being at 50-60% in a cheap, trinket turtling, and the proceeding 270k shadow tech killing you with turtle aura active is not “late”. The ability went off in the animation and killed you.
Ahem
Actually…
turtle behaves in exactly the same way as every defensive cd in the game that is also instant, off gcd, and doesn’t confer an immunity status as formally designated by the game’s coding, which the ignorant seem happy to dismiss as “wordplay” even though language is. how coding works.
nobody insisting that the above is fact is saying it is RIGHT that that’s how it works, merely that claiming otherwise currently is inaccurate
Yes, actually.
I think it’s expecting it to behave like an immunity despite…not being one. Maybe because they’re kind of similar.
Anyways, 200 posts trying to explain how a defensive ability works while sitting 40 minute queues into triple caster lobbies. Maybe I’m dead and this is hell.
if code actualized the “defensive” depth of these delusionoids hunters would never ever die
It does not behave the same way as every defensive.
The 30% damage reduction from turtle is instant. The immunity, invulnerability, deflect… CALL it whatever you want, isn’t instant. By design, it doesn’t start to deflect until the animation has completed.
you are incorrect about that
In these terms, it is the “same” but has a “longer enough” animation before its effect takes place than any of the other comparable abilities, which cause more frequent instances of this situation.
no it doesn’t
It should be active in the same way the deflection is.
It’s just less noticeable when something “goes through”.
No, it’s just Hunters being squishy and slow while hoping it’ll behave like Divine Shield.
How am I incorrect? You’re saying my logs are lying to me?
So because deflect and immune are different in your mind, there is no animation or timer at which Turtle is effective?
no, not at all
i and several others have provided an explanation for why abilities will hit “through” turtle
Ya once people understand this then the debate is over lol.
If I were stronger I’d snap this pencil.
And this is where we disagree. Anyways.
