Ooooof, feels like this set shoulda been a no brainer, looks like a malformed Turkey.
Lol, yeah they just made a post showcasing it on their YouTube asking which Set people like better Troll or Draenei, theyâre already censoring some of the negative feedback. What a pitty, Trolls have arguably the coolest cultural armor, and they just squandered a golden opportunity for an easy win. Taking bets now on wether or not they fix it, my bet is no.
The only one thing I like about this set is the tunic (the chest leg bathroom robe looking thing), and itâs actually really good. Like, it looks very nice but the rest of the set drags it down. Also, Trolls have terrible posture so it is mostly covered up and would probably look better on other races.
Yeah it appears to be based off VolâJins chest and SenâJins WC3 model. Looks way better on the female. The black color looks much better than the red with silver paint . When have trolls ever worn silver paint? A couple little tiki faces on the sash like VolâJin had would have gone a long way for the chest. That piece is the least offensive. Next the Icon of Shadows back is a strong choice but it should have been taller and skull bearing. This set would only take a few more Pennys to fly first class shame they probably wonât fix it.
Probably designed on a Human, you can tell by how the belts never fit the male trolls right.
All they need to do is angle it properly, like the Shadowlands belt Iâm using, works better if the cloth isnât so small.
I honestly wasnât expecting it to be that bad. Itâs obvious that whoever made this had no clue how awesome this set could have been.
Itâs truly unfortunate that theyâre releasing this armor the way it is.
At the very least, they shouldâve change the headpiece and allow you to pick either voodoo mask or head cloth. Cramming them together just doesnât look good.
What upsets me the most is that Rushâkah (so the wooden ritual mask) is meant to be the most important part of the set. Masks are crucial part of trollâs culture. And We hadnât had traditional troll masks in a long while, the ones that were in game were from classic and they look dated already. So mask for me was very important, becuase Heritage set was the only chance on the horizon to get proper HD mask for Darkspear trolls.
And we get elephanâs trunk. Very funny Blizzard.
Overall this set didnât live up to itâs potential. There are no cool little accessories, no potions, no voodoo dolls, no kukri blade atteached to the belt, no sculls.
I like serpent motif, but the other glove looks weird with these tusks, Iâd just give tiki plate.
The smaller shoulderpad was begging for at least some paint markings.
In the end the set is serviceable, but after waiting this long I had hopes for something better. But then again Blizzard always underdelivers when when it comes to poor Darkspears. </3
I have impression that whoever is meant to work on them doesnât even like them.
I donât want to be the one to disappoint. But these 2 new head items can be found in Wowexport. These are called Loa Masks, but theyâre re-used assets from WoD.
Remember in Garrison enchanterâs study had troll style. And on that building there were tiki masks. And 2 of these tiki masks are re-used just behind them there is a cord of color purple.
I donât know how it will fit. It will deffiniely not match the set. And Iâd rather if troll got the mask that was modeled with their face in mind.

NOSE
This is the whole reason I made this post, itâs very likely weâll never see a proper back rig or proper mask if the Heritage set doesnât deliver. Woefully disappointing and I donât expect the Quest Chain to conclude VolâJins story in a meaningful way or usher the Darkspear forward into the next chapter of their existence in a meaningful way either.
Couldnât agree more with what you said, spot on.
What can I search to find these? I tried looking and it seems like I need to download something which Iâm reluctant to do.
This part really bums me out since thatâs the heritage right there and based on the set overall I doubt they even considered adding anything like thatâŚ
You can download wowexport, and get access to plenty of WoW assets. Plnety of people that are into modeling can look it up.
When I was searching for Darkspear Heritage to see how the it would look like without the cloth I found headitem called âloa maskâ
But turns out it was tiki mask from WoD made to be positioned on face, and there were exactly 2 items like that.

So I am fairly positive that these are 2 additional head items the article was speaking off.
I was also hoping for proper head cloth and separate wooden voodoo mask ( which shouldâve been an obvious direction). But itâs not happening.
This is the proper rallying cry! FREE THE NOSE!
Set the noses free!
Set the noses free!! The Darkspear deserve better!
Looks like Garrosh blew up a war wagon and the crap that fell from the sky was glued to this troll model. I hope that properly conveys my sentiment about this armor.
I was thinking more like the leather work recipe armor from Stranglethorn Vale, What was it callled Tribal leather or something and maybe one of those diamond shaped shields and a thin pole arm or something .
If you want I will roll a troll and screeenshot what i am thinking , but I probably am not allowed to post the pic on the forum anyway ( which I also think is stupid),
Yup it does kinda look like that, looks like it was hastily thrown together by an AI or maybe the Class Balance interns.
I was able to race change this warlock, plz help out monk.
Also didnt they say we were getting more troll masks?
This is also a major issue with the Draenei heritage (literally using a WOTLK era bulky belt with 0 accessories; no accessories or armor on the tail, and their boots arenât even specially made for them which they were for Lightforged). Which makes me think they just wanted to get this feature over with to the point where they rushed these out and just didnât actually care what we thought about them.
Itâs so sad. I was so excited for both of these sets, and at best they just have the bones of something that could be good if Blizzard cared even a little bit.
